Unfortunately trouble occurred with the storage media (SD card) in my camera when I have just arrived at the alpine flower field.
I took this photo by iPhone13 mini.

On a wonderful morning somewhere in Switzerland. I love to be on this amazing place from time to time. For me the most beautiful location to sit there, enjoy the view by a cup of coffee.

But not ours. We're having much more snow than usual here this year, but this was at my sister's in MI when we visited in November.

Just got back from a visit to Oz with a stop-over in Singapore on the return journey. Needless to say the jet lag is playing havoc, so will catch up with folk over the coming days :)

This upside-down water reflection image was taken during a hike through Wadi Shab in Oman. The spring river's water is crystal clear, and it shows the jade green/turquoise color due to high mineral content (e.g., Calcium) of the water. In this particular spot, bright light and color were reflected on the surface. The orange-yellow band of color is the reflection of the setting sun's light on the massive Eocene Seeb limestone mountain cliffs along the canyon. The dark part of the mountain did not reflect on the water's surface, which allowed the bottom of the river floor to be visible.
So, this photo shows multiple dimensions on the same plane, i.e., the water surface as the canvas.
No walk around Porto can take place without encountering a stiff climb or two, and this day was no exception.
This shot taken over the rooftops of Gaia is framed around the cable cars while incorporating the iconic Sandeman sign in the distance, world famous for its port wine. For those of a certain age, I can confirm I didn't meet the 'Sandeman Don' (or Orson Welles) on this occasion.
The smoky atmosphere is a result of the forest fires burning several miles away.

Shanghai is a direct-administered municipality and the most populous urban area in China. The city is located on the Chinese shoreline on the southern estuary of the Yangtze River, with the Huangpu River flowing through it. The population of the city proper is the second largest in the world with around 24.87 million inhabitants in 2023, while the urban area is the most populous in China, with 29.87 million residents. As of 2022, the Greater Shanghai metropolitan area was estimated to produce a gross metropolitan product (nominal) of nearly 13 trillion RMB ($1.9 trillion). Shanghai is one of the world's major centers for finance, business and economics, research, science and technology, manufacturing, transportation, tourism, and culture. The Port of Shanghai is the world's busiest container port.
With a slight delay to the 5.53pm departure, we're now some 30 minutes away from the East Perth Terminal watching the setting sun caress the passing countryside as we head towards the Darling Range and wine country.
The train is the Indian Pacific - our home for the next 4 nights and best part of 5 days, as we make our way across Australia on the 2704 mile (4352km) journey between Perth and Sydney.
We're being well looked after - live music, canapés and a party atmosphere before we boarded the train, followed by a glass of champagne to help us settle in to our cabin. Dinner will be served in the lounge car in around an hour - plenty of time to contemplate our lot watching the widescreen 'passing film', before it's time to shower and change.
Next stop is the gold-mining town of Kalgoorlie, some 400 miles (650km) distant, early Sunday morning.

So much plastic and garbage on this otherwise pristine beach in Maharashtra India. When do we finally learn to back off when it comes to disposal of these toxic left-overs…..?
On the day my daughter and her family moved into their home in Kansas, City, this cat showed up in their back yard. For some reason the cat liked me and now several years later it still hangs out at their house most of the day. It probably belongs to neighbors somewhere nearby. The three granddaughters started calling it Papa’s cat. Later it got named Oliver by the oldest granddaughter, but the younger ones still call it Papa’s cat.
