Enjoyed a wonderful sun-filled morning observing a group of Whale Watchers who were documenting whales travelling along the California coastline. The whale-watchers had logged three whales that morning, and seemed content sitting there with binoculars in hand watching for that distant spout announcing the arrival of a whale.

After a time, however, I became restless staring out to sea and not spotting anything, so I decided instead to document the beautiful California Poppies growing along the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Seems everyone had a good day : )

Any time I get an opportunity to visit Yosemite National Park High Country, I stop to admire Beautiful Tenaya Lake. It is somewhat remote from the vehicles and crowds that swarm the Yosemite Valley Floor, leaving one with a sense of freshness and renewal.

Caught between immense granite domes and clear Sierra Nevada sky, Tenaya Lake is the largest lake in Yosemite National Park. The Lake was named after Chief Tenaya, who was the last chief of the Yosemite Indians.

The lake is located between Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows. The surface of Tenaya Lake has an elevation of 8,150 feet. The lake basin was formed by glacial action, which left a backdrop of light granite rocks, whose beauty was well known to the Native Americans.

Rocky Mountain National Park

There is a layer of light between two cloud layers. The lower cloud layer looks like a mountain range but is clouds.

The sun came out after our December snowstorm, but it was too cold to melt the snow for several days. We don't usually get this much snow in December, but a couple of years ago, it was like this on Valentine's Day. So we'll see what happens in a couple weeks. I'll be mostly away from Flickr for the next week, but look forward to catching up when I get back. Stay well everyone.

The wonderful Chiado district of Lisbon

I first heard this song in college. Even then, I knew it described the way I'd be feeling a few years down the road. I've always loved the Peter, Paul and Mary version from Album 1700.

"While riding on a train goin' west

I fell asleep for to take my rest

I dreamed a dream that made me sad

Concerning myself and the first few friends I had..."
