"Cloud shadows and rays can be very counter intuitive!
The dark shadows look like they are pointing upwards but in reality they are angled downwards – all shadows cast by the sun must go downwards.
There is a thin layer of hazy cloud _below_ the top of the towering cumulus. The sun is casting a shadow of the cumulus cloud onto this lower layer. We see the shadow through the other side of the lower cloud layer ‘screen’. The shadow looks above the cumulus cloud simply because the shadow is closer to the camera."

Die Künstlerin verspannt Fäden in großen Räumen, was einen enormen Aufwand an Zeit und Arbeit bedeutet, tagelange Handarbeit mit vielen Helfern und Helferinnen. Bei einem Werk waren das zum Beispiel 800 km Wollfaden (La Sucrière, Lyon). Chiharu Shiota verbindet die Fäden so, dass ein loses, ungeordnetes Netz entsteht, an manchen Stellen dichter, an anderen lockerer, die Fäden verschränken und verknoten sich zu einem Gespinst. Wie Nervenbahnen eines menschlichen Gehirns oder Körpers. Manchmal spinnt sie getragene Schuhe, Betten, Kleider, Scheren und ab und zu auch sich selbst ein.

aufgeregt, sorgenvoll auf die gruppenausstellung in pratteln. mit diesem bild versuchen das chaos, die gefühle in mir zu zentrieren..damit sie mich nicht wegschwemmen

….. ich lerne mit kaltwachs und ölfarben zu gestalten…
werde immer mutiger..
versuche meinen stil auch mit diesem material zu finden..
es ist ein fantastisches malmedium mit so vielen möglichkeiten…

bin zu müde um zu malen..und doch will was verarbeitet..ausgedrückt werden in farbe und form...nun der versuch dies digital zu gestalten...mal schauen was auf diesem weg entstehen will.
Three photos developed in Luminar 4, which I am growing to appreciate more as it was very simple and intuitive to create and save a custom Look which I then applied to the other two photos in this sequence. So even though it is slower in operation than Lightroom, the tasks are more straightforward in Luminar, so you save time in the long run. For a package that cost less than 50 GBP with no subscription, I am very happy.
The three photos were then stitched in the new verion of Microsoft Image Composite Editor (ICE). Which is more complicated to use (boo), but does have a fairly successful "Auto-complete" feature for those awkward jagged bits around your stitched final image (hurray!).
Random, intuitive, digital collage. Somewhat Dada, somewhat Surrealist. Human assembly.

In this piece I was working towards an interesting sky. Somehow the foreground grasses turned out interesting as well. A friend of mine saw it in progress and named it, then bought it when it was done. I think she worried every time she came to visit it while I was working on it. There was no guarantee it would retain any of what she loved as I played with it until I was satisfied I was done.
It all worked out in the end and “To Find The Ocean At Dawn” has gone to a good home where it is loved.
