seclusive (adjective)- preferring to be alone, away from other people
Welcome to my little corner of the web!
My name is Molly, and I live near Lake Michigan in Wisconsin with my husband, Mike, and our three rescue cats—Floki, Ivar, and Torvi—along with the spirits of several other cats and dogs we’ve loved and lost.
I chose Seclusive Nature as my handle because Mike and I are very introverted and feel most at peace in solitude—whether we’re at home or in the wild.
Mike and I both have wanderlust in our veins and love to explore. We’re also huge fans of all animals, which is the main reason we went vegan in 2006. Our vegan journey has been an adventure of its own, and we’ve enjoyed it tremendously!
I’m an avid reader, a bit of a notebook and bandana junkie, and a fervent nature lover. I’m also quite fond of street art and a firm believer in embracing your wild.
Flickr is the only platform I’m active on. I use it as a creative outlet, a visual journal, a microblog, and a way to organize my photos and videos. While I’m not here for the social aspects, I hope my posts bring some joy to others.

About this photo- We hiked from our campsite in Copper Falls State Park to Red Granite Falls and stopped at Loon Lake to have a snack. It was a perfect day!
“So stay true to your own nature. If you like to do things in a slow and steady way, don't let others make you feel as if you have to race. If you enjoy depth, don't force yourself to seek breadth. If you prefer single-tasking to multi-tasking, stick to your guns. Being relatively unmoved by rewards gives you the incalculable power to go your own way.”

"You think you are an introvert because you like being alone. But in reality, you just love being at peace. And you're actually extroverted around people who bring you peace."

On Christmas day my family loves to play with Christmas Crackers. We all wear our paper crowns and each cracker comes with a whistle that plays a different note and we make hilarious attempts at playing songs together.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

I don’t hate Winter.
I do grow weary of the dreary. I do wish I was a bit hardier, being driven indoors by frigid temps and icy winds, preferring the welcome arms of a comfy chair by the fire, or the embrace of a thick throw.
But I do not hate Winter.
For me, it is often a time of peace and solitude, a time to reflect and take inventory, a time to withdraw and embrace the introvert within. But when I do look outward, when Winter grabs my attention, I am struck by the reaffirmation of life that is all around me. Leaves that cling stubbornly to the limb that bore them, bits of green where no green could possibly be, large stately bucks sporting magnificent antlers, dancing effortlessly through the snow, squirrels foraging in the bracken, finding time to play and frolic about, and Chickadees, my beloved Chickadees. Nothing speaks resilience to me like a Chickadee in Winter. Their tiny presence always garners a notice. How cheery they are, these mighty balls of fluff. Just feather and hollow bone, yet seemingly immune to Mother Nature’s harshest challenges of wind, ice, snow, and cold. They accompany us all the way through, with not a moment’s lost faith that this shall pass. They do not bemoan Winter, but readily accept the gifts that come.
No, I do not hate Winter. I am grateful to her.

Wild garlic from my tiny garden. Time to be creative, seeing as we are on lockdown and not allowed out.
I think some people are begining to show signs of stress.
Luckily I am an introvert and I am quite happy to be by myself 24/24.

First time visiting the place. As always - being an incurable introvert – desperately trying to avoid other people but with moderate success. ‘Morning’, ‘Morning’ exchanged awkwardly and there we went, focusing on focusing on some really important staff.
I spent there just few hours so don’t recommend it quite yet since I need to see it a bit more, but looked promising.

Taken during the People's Assembly Against Austerity - a Protest against the Conservative Party and it's annual Conference in Manchester (1st October 2023).
~~
Thousands of people took to the streets of Manchester on October 1st as the ruling Conservative Party (the Tories) commenced its annual conference in the city. Organized by the People’s Assembly Against Austerity, the protest action brought together a broad coalition of activists, trade unions, climate action groups, and anti-war and anti-racism organizations and campaign groups.
“Wages Up, Bills Down, Tories Out,” “Cut War Not Welfare,” “Wages Not Weapons,” and “Defend the Right to Strike” were some of the slogans that were visible among the sea of protesters as they marched through the city. The action was held as part of a national week of action organized by the People’s Assembly in Manchester between September 30 and October 3.
The National Union of Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers (RMT), which has organized successive strikes since last June, (and whose members are going on strike again this week alongside workers from the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen, ASLEF), was among the trade unions present at Sunday’s protest. They were joined by the National Education Union (NEU), the Communication Workers Union (CWU), Unison, Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union, and Unite.
Sunday’s protest was also supported by members of the Stop the War coalition, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Just Stop Oil, the Peace and Justice Project, and the Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) campaign group. Also in attendance was the Young Communist League, the youth wing of the Communist Party of Britain.

l am quiet on the outside, but not on the inside.
On the inside, my imagination shouts loudly and runs wild.
― Andie Powers, I Am Quiet: A Story for the Introvert in All of Us
Don't get me wrong I love being with people (in little doses haha) but since I am an introvert, some time of solitude is my way to recharge my energy and reconnect with my soul, so then I can deal with busier moments.
This scene reminds me those peaceful moments, generally enjoying Nature.
My favorite quote is: "I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order" John Burroughs
Knowing ourselves and how we work it is a great first step to be happy under any given circumstances. Life is not perfect but we can make it very enjoyable :D (I'm sorry rainy days make me think a lot haha)

I'm sure you don't really need to know that I organize my photo files by year, month and camera.
But since I'm starved for human company, I thought I'd tell you as if you were here with me.
Yesterday in Lightroom I clicked on the 2017 folder, and began working my way from 31 December toward the earlier parts of the year. It's something I haven't done before. Usually I look at a folder which has a particular camera's photos for a particular month. Lightroom chose to show me the images by capture date which meant as I worked my way toward earlier in the year, I might see something shot with the phone, or one of the Fujis, depending upon the date.
I came across this and realized that I haven't posted any bench photos for awhile. I thought my supply of them had been drained.
The native iPhone 7 camera app is almost too good. Its algorithms render edges too sharp to be believed. I had to copy the background layer in Ps a couple times. One I blurred about 1.7 pixels and masked all but the edges of the leaves. Against the sky the edges looked too sharp and unreal. The second copy I blurred 0.5 pixels over the entire image. I even had to desaturate and lighten the blue of the sky a little.
Now the image doesn't look so hyperreal.
Sorry about rambling on so.
Even introverts like me begin to feel the isolation after awhile.
Happy Bench Monday!
Another flower from our back garden is this Erysimum “Bowles Mauve” which are part of the wallflower family. It is a perennial plant that forms a small bush with tall spikes of beautiful shades of mauve flowers. A person who is shy and introvert is often said to “resemble a wallflower” - these proud flowers seem to dispel that notion!

No..your eyes are perfectly fine.. it is blurry because of the rain..
This photostream has been mostly beaches and let me clarify that I don't live there (i just wish). I actually live in the busy part of the metro and this view is my usual commute. You cant imagine gow crowded Manila is. I wanna do street photography but being the introvert that I am, I don't have the courage to do so. Tips will be appreciated 😅

“...I also believe that introversion is my greatest strength. I have such a strong inner life that I’m never bored and only occasionally lonely. No matter what mayhem is happening around me, I know I can always turn inward.”
― Susan Cain
The work is an empty titanic tetrahedron, realized in corten steel. It’s partially sink in the rocky ground, and it shows a long split along the western corner, which make more specifically its existence in the distinctiveness of the site and the cosmic space. Like an introvert light, conscious witness of the cyclical and irreversible passage of time, capture the solar light through the long split, storing in its geometric inside the luminous reflections from the zenith to the sunset.
I was tagged by Zolar Merlin so here's a picture of the person behind Bryn.
