"Lika moved a little closer as she got back from getting herself a beer, after long minutes of internal debate. She leaned closer to us and asked if we were having fun, the soft spoken friend was desperately trying to talk as loud as she could over the deafening music.
Lya, who was in my arms, turned questioning eyes to me, very much amused by the situation. Being the most extroverted of us three, she knew how in pain we both were at that point. I sighed and lowered my eyes before looking back at Lika and shrugging, making them both burst out in laughter.
Without another minute of hesitation, Lya smiled dazzlingly in our direction and moved swiftly through the crowd, leaving us wondering what she was up to. A few seconds later she was back with 3 bottles of champagne, 3 glasses and Lika's handbag under her arm. She winked at us and made a swift move with her head to indicate the bathroom door. Brows furrowed, I let Lika step ahead first and then followed.
Once inside, Lya locked the door behind us while resting her back against it and said with a sigh :
"- My dear introverts, now is the time for us to REALLY have a party the way we like it !"
That's how the bathroom turned into our very own private nightclub until the early morning, just the way we've always loved it."

I personally love the dawn atmosphere, for many reasons. The silence, the first light, the soft cold air; and being a sort of introvert, finding myself comfortable with the emptiness and no humans :) Most of all, I'd say everyone should have the experience of dawns sometimes, very charmingly refreshing they are.
Few wild British creatures are more beloved by the British than the robin..The robin’s European counterpart is a shy woodland-dwelling introvert, while our robin is the classic bold suburbanite, which will feed on the bird table, sing from the handle of a garden fork and nest in a plant pot in the shed

It may seem obvious but the red on robins is the most magical colour in nature and with a heart rate of 1000 beats a minute, there is genuine fire in that small puff of bright feathers

Truly a group I have never been prouder to be a part of. The friendships made are long lasting that I am sure of. We support each other and tease each other just like siblings would some days...

Here is the story of the above photo, I was hanging out with Hep after a small break due to illness from SL... and enjoying the laughter when suddenly our true and blue friend (aka Lallykins) messaged me to ask me if I had a cake she could jump out of or knew of the designer that made one.......well I know there is one... but do you think any of us could think of it... so she said she would then need some "victims"... I said oh Lally... I will always be your victim... so then she said I need one more... so I volunteered Hep... and no sooner did I say it that Lally messaged Hep saying you need to be my victim.. and tp'd her.. and the games and laughter was on...
SO thank you Wren Carling Parker and Crito for making this possible. Being an introvert.. I found my happy spot and I love being able to be creative with my friends.

Some may hurry; some may scurry

their heads bent down avoiding eye contact
their finery blurred; without much definition

When l was a young news photographer (first job, 1965), another shooter on our paper maintained those who used telephoto lenses were basically introverts whereas wide angle shooters were more extrovertists. Maybe there's something to that. l liked to scan a scene through a long lens and pick out individuals in the crowd. We called that head-hunting back in the day. Converted to black and white with Flickr Photo Editor.

On dit souvent des français vivant dans le nord de l'Hexagone (et particulièrement des Normands) qu'ils sont assez peu voire pas chaleureux du tout, peu accueillants, très renfrognés et autres qualificatifs qui décrivent plutôt fidèlement ce qui relève d'un caractère introverti.
A l'inverse, nos amis du Sud (Que vous le vouliez ou non, le Sud de la France commence au Sud de la Loire, c'est comme ça : consultez une carte de France et un géomètre si vous en doutez. :o) ) seraient eux d'une affabilité sans pareille, d'une chaleur humaine à couper le souffle et autres qualités d'extraversion fortement mises en avant dans nos sociétés occidentales.
Eh bien, désolé de faire mentir les clichés sur les Nordistes et les Sudistes, mais les Alençonnais sont plutôt bienveillants et aidants envers les touristes de passage...
Mieux encore, un certain nombre -voire un nombre certain- de personnes de passage à Alençon et ayant pu comparer m'ont régulièrement confirmé que les Normands en tout cas savent bien accueillir les gens.
Bon. Ce ne sont que des témoignages, certes.
Mais il faut toujours partir du principe que les gens ne sont pas fondamentalement mauvais ou froids.
Et après tout, je ne vais pas cracher sur des témoins du fait que nous autres Alençonnais ne sommes pas des congélateurs humains.
...La météo s'en charge toute seule. :o)

Hello my Flickr friends! I've missed you all. I know I've got some catching up to do. I Haven't had much time for photography or Flickr lately. Although I will say a break is good especially for an introvert like me. :)
Having lots of problems with Flickr not working quite right at the moment :(
Dusk lured me to the sleeping woods to rest in winter’s silence.
As an introvert and creative type, I crave alone time. In the winter, meditative (snowshoe) walks at dusk are one of my favorite things to do.
Silence moves me to a deep state of peace, and I can then return to my life situation restored.
I came up through the cloud on the mountain that morning to a bluebird sky, now, in this moment, I was heading back down through them. It was really cool....Like traversing from one realm to another. Almost like a time machine and it wasn't even cold.
The Woodpecker Who Forgot to Blend In
A Fable of Color, Confidence, and Poor Camouflage Decisions
Some birds perch quietly. They blend in with bark, mutter under their breath, and hope the paparazzi gets lost.
This was not that bird.
The male Yellow-fronted Woodpecker looked like a bag of Skittles exploded mid-flight and then applied eyeliner just to make a point. Yellow forehead. Red crown. Blue eye shadow. White belly. Black jacket. He didn’t match—he performed.
I spotted him just as he launched from the trunk—wings off duty, tail flared, body perpendicular like a flying exclamation point. It wasn’t a takeoff. It was a mic drop.
Woodpeckers aren’t supposed to fly like this. They’re supposed to climb. Peck. Behave like tool-wielding introverts. But not this one. This one peeled off the bark like he was late for a talent show and absolutely had to win.
He didn’t blend in.
He didn’t sneak.
He debuted.
Moral:
Camouflage is optional. Swagger is not.
Be loud. Be bright. Be gone before they blink.
Introverting. Please, go away.

In 1883, Sitting Bull was a guest of honor at the opening ceremonies for the Northern Pacific Railroad. When it was his turn to speak, he said in the Lakota language, “I hate all white people.
