The Dummies have never seen a triangle before. It intrigued them!

Lake Gairdner's retreating water line creates a work of art in the mud and salt at the water's edge. This part of Mount Ive Station in the Gawler Ranges of the South Australian outback is an intriguing mixture of detail and vistas.

I love night photography.

With all the roadway and overpass construction happening in our city, on my end of town, there are many opportunities for night shots of these intriguing apocalyptic sets of steel uprights.

The construction workers were kind enough to blast this "set" with one of their massive work lights. Thanks, Guys!

~~Sheree~~

PS I really liked the shot as is, but I wanted it to have more of an apocalyptic feel to it. Besides I like the color of a fine red merlot.

PPS Martha's Vine is coming along nicely. I am at Chaper 25 - another 10 to go. Want to know more? Here is the link to my publishing house.

Tracked twilight Milky Way panoramas might just be the panacea of "Nightscape" photography in terms of difficulty, for me anyways. Everything from timing the first exposure all the way through post processing requires a tremendous amount of effort to get a final image that looks natural while preserving detail and intrigue. The light changes so rapidly that doing long, tracked exposures of the sky jeopardizes the timing of sky and foreground illumination, you can't waste any time between exposures otherwise the sky lightens too fast and you lose detail, subsequently the foreground is too bright and looks unnatural against the sky. A huge amount of time in post processing is spent trying to match each exposure to its neighbor, in terms of lightness, contrast, color, etc, otherwise the stitching looks awful and the blending is near impossible. Luckily this one worked out well, taken in the 30 minutes from just before astro twilight to after.

12 exposures for this image, all shot with a Nikon D5300 and Sigma Art 18-35mm on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tracking mount. Sky shots are 3 minutes at ISO 400 and f2.5, foreground shots are 1.5 minutes at ISO 400 and f1.8.

The intriguing Common Raven has accompanied people around the Northern Hemisphere for centuries, following their wagons, sleds, sleighs, and hunting parties in hopes of a quick meal. Ravens are among the smartest of all birds, gaining a reputation for solving ever more complicated problems invented by ever more creative scientists. These big, sooty birds thrive among humans and in the back of beyond, stretching across the sky on easy, flowing wingbeats and filling the empty spaces with an echoing croak. (Cornell).

All comments regarding this picture, subject, composition, etc are welcome and appreciated. TIA.

LITTLE BAY.

Z TO ZOOM.

Little Bay, located on the north-east coast of Barbados, is a unique spot with interesting pools, breathtaking scenery, intriguing sea caves, and magnificent blowholes!

Panormaic view of Little Bay taken from the clifftop, showing the tidepools and towering cliffs

Overlooking Little Bay

Set among the rugged cliffs that are typical of this part of the island, Little Bay is truly a little haven. Nature has created a small "swimming pool" carved out of the rock and this pool is safe for soaking. It's a favourite spot for locals who live nearby, and especially those with children.

A family enjoys a relaxing soak in one of the pools at Little Bay

Relaxing in the ocean pool

Beyond the rocks the waves are powerful, smashing into the rocks and creating lovely blowholes that spout high into the air.

A walk along the cliffs provides wonderful views of Little Bay, adjoining bays, and the stunning northern coastline, but be sure to wear shoes as the rocks are quite sharp. Between December and April whales can sometimes to spotted offshore as they migrate to warmer seas for the winter.

If you are visiting Little Bay be sure to also stop in at Cove Bay, just a minute's drive away.

To discover this scenic location and others, we recommend taking an island tour.

For all my staring at it, this intriguing rock art looks upside-down to me, a caterpillar-type figure. It also seems to have some heavenly symbols and a small map at right.

Any insights welcome.

All of these formations are a result of years of volcanic sediment forming at the bottom of a huge lake that with the shifting of the earth eventually drained exposing these intriguing formations.

The Forest of Bowand is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty primarily in the north of Lancashire and covers an area of 310 square miles. This rocky crag is at the side of Littledale Road, and according to my OS map, it has a disused quarry to the rear. I was intrigued to see it has trees and shrubs growing out of the shattered rocks - presumably the "gifts" of birds.

Layered images with a few extra dots for good measure. Just a bit of fun. I hope you'll enjoy the journey through this image too.

The background is a wall at the back of the Dowse Gallery covered in reflective stickering. My silhouette is reflected along with an intriguing exhibition and lovely light leaks. Wrinkles in the stickers a reminder of the glitches in the matrix.

What is reality? Is it an image? A reflection of an image? Or is it what we see?

Well... no to all of these. So the question remains an intriguing one. And the more I read about human perception the more intriguing it becomes: our minds don't see what our eyes do…

(And if, perchance, you find your curiosity piqued, ask yourself the question why are tiger and zebra stripes vertical and not horizontal. It’s not an accident and nor a creative whim, and the answer is relevant to photography too….)

This is for the Smile on Saturday group’s Reflection on Black theme.

It’s a visual tease of course. There are three questions in the puzzle:

What is it?

Which way is what?

Where’s the mirror?

All easy to answer, but if your eyes pause even for a moment as they work it out I will feel I have succeeded in my objective.

Curiously, for me, I found it much more obvious looking at the thumbnail than at the full-screen version. And that itself is a comment on our perception I think....

I read somewhere, and it’s true for me, that a photograph that takes the mind a little while to work out generally will be perceived as a more interesting one. And that is why we find record shots and clichéd images less engaging than the creative ones - sometimes just changing the viewpoint makes capture interesting (we all take our images at head height don’t we lol.)

This is part of a set I took 18 months ago, though I only processed this particular perspective today. If you want confirmation of what it is you can rummage through my photostream to find out...

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image! Happy Smile on Saturday :)

[Tripod mount; delayed-release. Black background on black glazed ceramic tile, side-lit with LED torch.

Processed in Capture One using levels to make things blacker and then balancing the light to give some detail in the reflection. Enhanceds colours, particularly the blue and the orange. Because I like them :)

Used a gradient masked layer to brighten the reflection part to decrease the disparity in lightness against the source.

Nik Color Efex Pro for a Classic Soft Focus effect to introduce a glow to the highlights. This was a bit over the top so I blended the effect layer back into the original using Darken mode.

Flipped vertically. For fun.

Then we were done :)]

During our hike in the dunes from Heist to Knokke, we were captivated by a distant statue that caught our attention. As we approached it, I couldn't resist taking a picture. When I returned home, I searched online to discover the artist behind this impressive sculpture. I learned that her name is Aurora Cañero, and she is renowned for crafting sculptures that possess a magical and curious charm -Dir. Gen. Willemspark, Duinbergen, Knokke, Belgium

Mysterious Intrigue....

like a call from the wild side,

every instinct...feels beckoned

curiosity...won't subside...

...

like...this cover of clouds...

she seems to move with the wind,

her secrets...are all hidden...

but the veil may have thinned

through the layers, shines a light...

shows a path...now and then,

the lure of her laughter...

like a moment...of zen

then the shadows move in

and then silence...again

BAck Story: The Solia Federation was formed in last Flux Galaxy League, a break away group intent on finding the Jacuus Station which disappeared with 3500 human earthlings. The Jacuus Station was home for many humans and it was the last of its kind since humans had left the Milky Way in 2305.

I'm Cameron Reed-Moos, and in our quest to find our brothers & sisters, we had installed the best Ship builders to aid our mission, we partnered with the KresKon, a cyborg nation that has lived in peace on Hylo, this planet was given to them by the Flux during the Dazla period. The Flux now rule over 3 galaxies and are not so pro human, I suppose our history is some what patchy when you mention conflict. anyway, back to the story… we needed help and we knew we could count on the KresKon's to fulfil our request. We signed a deal that would ensure that any findings outside the FLux's control we could split. So part of our mission is to pay back the KresKon with some sort of resources besides Magnamuim.A number of humans also live here and will crew with me once near departure.

The KresKon's really delivered a wonderful project after a 11 year wait, must be the half human DNA ringing in? Who knows, all I know is The Solia Federation has its first real Ship called the "Ataraxia 11". It has everything we need to stay safe, be comfortable and able to take stock of our fleets and our docking station pods are the best out there. I remember the first time I laid eyes on her, we had never imagined its shear size. Our 3 months training went so fast and soon we would make our maiden voyage into the unknown, starting with the Crest of Ysis. This Super Hole requires a 3 week flight in a storm of Star Stones, its like hail I'm told but in space. I remember my great grand father telling me stories of his limited time on earth, and they had hail there all the time. I don't think we could ever return to that galaxy. We have many unknown factors which this Ship will experience anyway, The FLux has banned any parties going anywhere near it. I just want to find my own, my own people.

The Solia Federation is the last hope for our kind, and the Ataraxia 11 will be our only chance of ever finding the Jaccus Station. We cannot return back to Hylo empty handed either. If anybody is reading this? I do hope you put the Ataraxia 11 on your radar-flash, its our symbol of hope. We will remain calm and believe. Long Live the people of Solia.

Yours Universally.Cameron Reed-Moos

Inspiration for the name was partly cause it contained an 'X' and also it has a good meaning, plus it doubled as my midnight runner song by Team Sleep - Ataraxia. So thats the name done and dusted ,next was to get a sweet logo that would tie in my backstory (gotta tick all the boxes, right?).

The brief to myself was to try capture those amazing concept art renders we see now and then. So I decided to this project up a few notches by actually texturing the different surfaces and angles, make it edgy, digital, zero gravity madness, all the sci-fi stuff we all love. filled with intrigue and fascination at every glance If anybody seen my stream you'd remember my carbon project for the Batmobile of the future, well I did it again, no full wrap but it did take 4 days of sticking and around 438 stickers applied to achieve the final result. 3 different colour grades and plenty of angles of which I have around 1200!Enjoy, and big up's to you all for this insane month we all know as SHIPTEMBER!

SIC article du journal "Hérault Tribune"

Skio,

« Mon univers artistique, c'est de l'émotionnel, je recherche visuellement ce qui me touche et ce qui peut-être, attisera la curiosité des gens. »

"Les oeuvres de l'artiste Skio mêlent formes géométriques et représentations réalistes aux regards oblitérés. Elles interrogent sur notre présence dans l'espace urbain en créant une nouvelle esthétique harmonieuse et moderne."
