Found this intriguing mural in Ghent (where else? ;-))
It took me a while before I could read the text, but it says "Give nature a voice / Geef de natuur een stem (in Dutch)".
Now the puzzling questions are: 'Was the mural first or the hedge'?? and 'Why'?
Happy Monochrome Thursday ;-)

In the same dirt road I found this cabin apparently abandoned.
The appearance is so rustic and so poor, but the incredible light in the scene and the beauty of the scenery have convinced me to take the photo.
The place really makes me so intrigued by the strange details.
I notice an effort to make the place a bit more charming and presentable because of the lanterns on the gate, but there's an ox skull hanging from the porch, not completely visible in the picture :))
Salyx, in the garden. Easter Sunday, 2019.
I had just put up a new play tent for the cats - and Salyx was wondering what it was. Did they play in the tent? Ah, no. Rowyn, Ypache and Aspyn had a wee sniff around it and Salyx actually deigned to enter, sniffed around inside for a few minutes and then stalked off. This is her reaction on first seeing said play tent.
Maybe today...
Warm and sunny for the whole weekend!

Another from snowy Storkow, the small forest right next to my apartment is a luxury to have so local, sadly temperatures are set to rise next week and so no more snow for a little while. However, I am glad I got out when I did, this shot for me painted a certain air of mystery; if there is anything I love to do is create atmosphere and whereas the best location is to evoke a sense of fantasy, as if this forest pathway in Winter was to lead to another dimension.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
Thanks everyone for your amazing support! :-) Have a wonderful day my friends!

This kid was absolutely intrigued about why I kept shooting strange things like steps, stains on the windows and things like that, so I decided to take a picture of him. But as I really suck at shooting photos of people, at one moment just tilted up a bit my phone and quickly tapped on the screen.
"Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees,
That hardly sway before a breeze
As soft as summer: summer's loss
Seems little, dear! on days like these.
Let misty autumn be our part!
The twilight of the year is sweet:
Where shadow and the darkness meet
Our love, a twilight of the heart
Eludes a little time's deceit.
Are we not better and at home
In dreamful Autumn, we who deem
No harvest joy is worth a dream?
A little while and night shall come,
A little while, then, let us dream."

Something growing in the garden , not sure what it is but it does come up each year . Someone once said they are some odd form of Daffodil , but not sure about that .
As for the dark red/cerise in the background , that is a winter flowering heather !!
I took one photo of him and then he flew to another branch and took another photo. He's like..."really, again?" 😊

The State Library in Hobart, Tasmania. I used to spend a lot of time here when I was in high school and matric - back in the days before the internet when you had to look at books.
I used to find this place fascinating - you could find anything and everything. I also used to study here during exams when I needed peace and quiet.
Funny how times change.
A face-to-face encounter (my first!) with a Mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) that was gently walking my way on a path by the river.
The resplendent plumage tells us it is a male, and that the mating season is on.
When this period finishes, comes the end of Spring, the male moults into eclipse plumage, which is similar to the female's, except for the yellow-orange-red beak, the absence of crest, and the fainter eye-stripe.
Thank you so very much, dear Amber, for honoring me with the group cover for Second Life Intrigue. :) *HUGE HUGS*

Janjheli, near the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful little village. The beauty is virgin as its still not flooded by tourists. This shot of this half complete hut on top of high ground was captured on one of my treks. The beautiful blue sky and the greenery around with this solitary half built hut gives it an intriguing feel. The rocks are gray, darker gray, brown and yellow, different from most of the places in Himalayas.

And here comes my super nerdy side again yall and I'm not even going to apoligize for it. 😂 . This is the flower of an Oxalis Triangularis, False Shamrock. Wood Sorel. My bedside plant for the last 8 months or so. A couple of months back I posted a photo of the four leafed one that popped up. The plant and the flower both are photophilic. They open when the sun comes up and close when the sun goes down. On really cloudy days they stay closed. The flowers are a soft pinky/purple color. This plant is very intriguing and such a looker. HMM.

It has been a while since I posted a photo of aspen poplars (Populus tremuloides) but I came across this grove on a walk around town and was intrigued.

Unusual, intriguing, memorable! The Cannonball tree is one of my favorite tropical trees with sea-anemone-like flowers whose sweet enticing fragrance can be enjoyed a field away. It has large hard brown fruit that clang like Cannonballs in the tropical forest at night. The flowers don't erupt on the upper branches either but on root-like branches around the base of the trunk! At night the flowers are particularly aromatic to attract swift-flying pollinators including bats. This particular Cannonball tree was collected in 1913 at Jamaica’s Hope Gardens and has flourished here at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden since it was planted in 1938.
According to textual records, Couroupita guianensis trees have been growing in India for at least 3,000 years, where it is so revered that it is often found growing at religious temples. It's possible that it is native to India as well. Part of the Lecythidaceae family, it grows up to 25m (82ft) in height. The majority of Cannonball trees that grow outside their natural environment were planted as botanical curiosities. Their large orange, scarlet and pink flowers form bunches that measure up to 3m in length. The large spherical, woody fruits, which range from 15 to 24cm in diameter, each contain up to 300 seeds.
