I have a trip to Europe from the beginning of June. I hope I get the key to the future, even if it's something slight… :)

Hi everyone,

Due to the new interface I will not be as active on Flickr as before. I live rural, rely on 3G mobile internet, and find the high resolution/justified/continuous scroll type view far too slow. In fact, it is so slow that it ain't going at all...

This is most unfortunate, as I loved keeping up to date with all your work... It leaves me feeling sad and frustrated; why can't Flickr just give us the option to view photostreams in small or medium again? I will attempt to stop by your streams as much and as regular as possible, while also performing administrative duties. The upgrade hasn't done me any favours...

Thanks everyone for the continued support, advice, feedback, views and faves... Sharing would have been meaningless without you all!

Take care, and I will see you all around!

Regards,

Elizme

PS - I am busy acquainting myself better with Photoshop... I hope you are enjoy the results thus far!

UPDATE: There actually IS a way now to view someone else's stream in the old format; it will look exactly the same as when you are viewing your own after clicking on 'edit'... All you have to do is enter/add ?details=1 after the person's homepage link/url in the browser. Using my own as an example:

www.flickr.com/photos/flickvlooi/?details=1 instead of just www.flickr.com/photos/flickvlooi/

This is far from ideal, and must be entered every time you wish to view someone's photos... But at least one can now read descriptions, scroll much faster and jump between pages also!

Good luck guys, and thanks to Ben for letting me know! :)

I'm sorry that I couldn't check out your recent pictures for almost 2 months because I've been busy preparing for the collective exhibition in Tokyo. I try to catch up!

I'm sorry I've not checked out recent pictures from you because I took another trip to the Kansai district in Japan for a week. I'll catch you up as soon as possible…

I was really drawn to the contrast in textures in this particular scene. The untouched sand of Whitley Bay beach juxtaposed against the surreal patterns appearing in the fast flowing stream running out to sea. I framed the shot diagonally to give equal balance to both elements and used an exposure of five seconds to help smooth out the water.

People who complain that software engineers build unwieldy, unfriendly and outright mindboggling user interfaces need to look back in history to realize that hardware engineers have not always been much better in that respect. A good place to do that is the Railway Museum in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Sunrise moves in stage for me ... also in focal lengths,,,I usually start out with the 15mm and end up with the 70-200.

Now Ibasho gallery in Antwerp makes a little presentation of my work in their bookshop. You can see my prints and portfolio there, though I’ve not made my book yet… Drop in at IBASHO gallery when you visit Antwerp! :)

This experimental craft was designed with the intention of drastically increasing survivability of pilots. It features a completely-enclosed hard shell cockpit area that completely shields the pilot and also allows the use of an experimental gamma-infused cannon since the armored enclosure also protects against most radiation types.

The downside of this cockpit layout means that this craft can only be piloted by pilots who have the necessary cybernetic neural implants (cyborgs and synthetic humanoids) to be able to directly interface with the ship’s exterior sensors. Fully organic pilots with no cybernetic augmentation are unable to pilot this craft as they would be literally and figuratively flying blind behind the controls.
