Project: To design an interactive e-menu interface for Outback Steakhouse. Through navigating this digital menu, the user can place, view and send orders as well as access other entertainment and informative content.
March 15, 2022 - The Hofstra Cultural Center and the Department of Music present An Interactive Evening of Traditional West African Drumming, Singing and Dancing featuring the Montclair State University West African Drumming and Dance Ensemble, directed by Robert Levin with special guests Emmanuel Agbeli, Master drummer from Kopeyia and Ghana Vida Mawufemor, dancer from Accra, Ghana. Come and feel the experiential insight into West African culture. In West Africa, there is no audience when music is performed, everyone participates. The group will present a number of traditional pieces, with drumming, singing and dancing, and will play Gahu, Kinka, Agbekor, Bamaaya, Echauffment, Kpanlogo and more. The performers will invite and instruct you how to join in the music during a few of our recreational dances.
Hofstra University will be starting its own West African Drumming, Singing and Dancing ensemble in Fall 2022. This is a great chance to hear and to participate in the music.
This event is made possible with the support of the Joseph G Astman Fund for the Hofstra Cultural Center and the The Alice Sawyer Award.
