Art installation on the walls of the now-abandoned former convent of Sant'Orsola, also home to squatters in the past, by local street artist Vaclav Pisvejc.
After fixing hundreds of dollar bills to the wall, the artist spray-painted across them, in French, ‘Capitalism is not possible.' Through his work, Pisvejc hopes to draw attention to San Lorenzo neighbourhood, particularly via Panicale and the Sant'Orsola complex, area with a dense immigrant population, marked by blight and often violence: ‘It's a place that Florentines avoid now.'
Monastero di Sant'Orsola, 1309, was a tobacco factory since 1810. Since 1940s it had different uses, most lately by squatters, and was abandoned, run down, hidden by scaffolding.

The tiles are hauled up to the platform at the top of three storey scaffolding. They are then laid out on the platform as they will be on the wall. In sets of five vertical lines the cement is applied to the wall and the tiles carefully pressed into place. Once this is completed the grouting between each tile is applied.
red tape was an installation i set up as part of cms day50 art exhibition. the theme was 'christ plays in 10 000 places'. this was the blurb that went with it...
Red Tape
Mission is a border crossing experience whether geographical or cultural - into new areas, risky spaces, out of the comfort zones onto other peoples turf. In those spaces we are likely to be guests rather than hosts. Someone else is throwing the parties. When we make that journey invariably Christ is already there ahead of us.
Red tape (that great symbol of heavy handed control and stifling beaurocracy seemingly so much loved by religious institutions) explores how easy it is to forget this.
Do we cross borders or create them?
Whilst Christ plays in ten thousand places the church time and again has done her best to keep him wrapped in red tape.

Final Major Project Tea room installation. Included three re-designed tea packages, illustrating tea from the brand 'Dr.Stuarts Extrodinarily Good Teas.', booklet, A3 journal and log book. June 2009.
Statement Of Intent:
I am working towards producing an installation in the style of a tearoom. I will produce illustrations and designs for the tea’s packaging, possibly to apply to a menu and staff uniform. Small narratives will be included on packaging to inform customers about buying fair-trade, local and organic produce. My purpose is to inform people of the joys of tea drinking; emphasising the different aromas, flavours and diversity derived from natural ingredients. It will continue my interest in buying ethical, local and sustainable produce, but to also explore my imagination in illustrating different teas, possibly by personification where I will explore their flavours, ingredients and origins.
My influences are to draw from real life in various locations to create spontaneous and lively drawings. From these initial sketches, I want to experiment with techniques that best express the concept and idea. I want to observe people in cafés, enjoying drinking tea and talking amongst themselves. A nice contrast would be to compare tea drinking in the comfort of your own home. I intend to document a variety of tea drinking equipment such as strainers, cups and saucers, teapots, and cutlery from the ordinary to the extraordinary. I want to learn about our tea drinking culture and why it’s such a popular socialism. I want to continue delving into the world of illustration through books and magazines and visiting museums and exhibitions.
From previous projects, I want to continue exploring techniques such as collage, print, and painting with inks. Water based materials would visually reflect the teas nature. I want to discover new types of line and learn about what styles of drawing best apply to them. I would like to incorporate materials I have collected to promote recycling and sustainable packaging. I would like to try embossment as a way of applying a text or image to a surface. It is the most sustainable decorating process available as it is accomplished through the stretching of paper stock, with no additional product added such as ink. I would like to informed of other techniques or resources linked to this technique.

Installation of my latest project, a sequence of painted panels to adorn the Altar wall at English Martyrs Catholic church in Hillmorton, Rugby. All credit here to my sister Elspeth for taking these photos which record the moment so well.
The subject is the English Martyrs, since previously there had been no depiction of them in the church. Given the large number of Catholic martyrs during and after the Reformation I chose to portray them in procession descending towards the altar around the already existing Resurrected Christ (which we moved higher up the wall). The two central groups of figures are more recognisable/better known martyrs led by St Thomas More and St John Fisher.

Abstract:
God's Green Earth is a world that was created by God and it is beautiful and peaceful. The aim of this exhibition is to show what has happened to god's creation because of mankind. The God’s green Earth that used to be beautiful, is now destroyed by the humans temptations.
Materials:
Materials include commercial objects such as paper, cloths, water colour, spray pain, legal drugs (as illegal drugs), powder, assemblages of some found objects.
Exhibition format: Installation Art
Overview:
Point of installation is of irresponsibility, carelessness and laziness, leading to social failure as represent by models of both human and non-human elements in the show that would directly and indirectly relate to it. These would expressed in sarcastic way. Humour would also be part of the installation.

Note: The use of the space
- outside the window, where can you see beautiful green scenery = the past (Green Earth)
- inside the room = the present
-the elevator = the future (Hopefully, better)

Sounds of improvisation by Tomoya Deguchi immediately become movement of light and distort one’s sight. The tension and vibes of music propagates to audience / player himself, not only as sound but also as light reflected in a mirror, feeding back to the next sound.
