Close up of a tiny section (about 15mm x 21mm) of a laptop hard drive printed circuit board (PCB).

The pattern etched into each copper layer of a PCB is called the "artwork" (Wiki).

An old hard drive PCB with the connector wired to one lead of a transformer and the other dragged across the solder joints causing the components to short.

Transistor radio Sharp TR-173

Only by a fairly powerful hammer blow was it possible to smash the bulb. I had imagined that easier. That such a thin glass is so stable, I would not have thought. That was already the hardest part in taking this picture. The light is diffused window light.

This is a hard drive from a non-working laptop. It was only 1 year old when I spilled a full glass of tea on it while trying to take a picture of a bird through the window. :( The good news, I was able to salvage data from it...yet I lost almost brand new laptop.

The section photographed is under 3 in x 3 in.

Another strangely beautiful piece of tech from deep within the depths of my husband's mysterious shed... :)

This theme wasn't very interesting to me. But I had a hard drive from my last laptop waiting for recycling so I used double exposure and funky painting and texture for fun.

Happy MACRO MONDAYS!

another possibility for the macromonday theme for this week is "inside electronics". this LED "bulb" is just under 3/8th inch and it helped the user to know that the device was on.

Can't pump up anything without a good amplifier, which is what this comes from. I'll just throw a few words around to sound like I know what I'm talking about (which I don't) - heat sink, fins (for cooling), other stuff...well, that was it then.

Here's the song - we're going back to the '90s with Technotronic's Pump Up The Jam:

Happy Macro Monday!

My car is so old....not quite ready to be called an antique. But with aging cars, always a good idea to keep a set of spare fuses around to keep the electronics happy.

Each fuse is about 1/2 inch across, 3/4 inch top to bottom (so with negative space, the photo is just under 3 inches across and about 2 inches top to bottom).

Have a Berry Happy Macro Monday!

I recently was working on an old Power Amp that had a faulty pot (potentiometer) Flickr says the spelling is wrong but it aint. Basically a volume control knob.

So this them was perfect for me. Just was a little work getting in that close.
