Macro Mondays "Inside Electronics"

Size : 3" 2 1/2"

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments❤️

This is a side view of a DIMM ie. PC Memory Module. I was trying to get a bit abstract but also attempting to demonstrate how, even a PCB used to construct a DIMM, actually utilises about 6 layers sandwiched together. Anyway, enough of the geeky stuff and back to the dishes :-)

7DWF: Anything Goes

Height of the frame: 5,4 cm / 2,1 inches

In the year 2112, Starship Cygnus X-1, Rush category, the flagship of the X-Cans fleet, silently orbits planet Samba on an Amazing Journey through the Musical Fidelity Universe. It is on a five-year mission to explore new musical worlds, to seek out new sounds no woman or man has ever heard before...

The subject was a rather "simple" one, because the only easily accessible "Inside Electronics" parts I had were these old tubes that used to be inside of my headphone amplifier. They are made of glass (of course) so you can see what's inside of them; making it a "double peek", if you like - an inside view of something that used to be inside of an electronic device ;-). I always wanted to use these tubes for a photo. The idea was to make it appear like a spaceship. Ever since the new tubes were installed, the amplifier sounds crappy (so I don't use it anymore; but it's 20 years old, so it's probably time for a new one...). I wasn't aware that the type of tubes can make such a difference in sound...

A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

Das Universum der Musik... Unendliche Weiten.

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

Was not going to do a photo this week as I couldn't think of anything to use. I normally do my photo on a Sunday night and post about 9 Came home from work and had an idea of using an old phone that I couldn't find and found the bulb in the drawer instead! Hence the title!! Happy macro Mondays

Macro Mondays theme: Inside Electronics

Many thanks for your views, favs and comments.

Truly appreciated

a possibility for the macromonday theme for this week, which is inside electronics. this circuit board was from a device that strengthened sound, which didn't work all that well so taking it apart to photograph its innards was not a bad idea.

DDR2 SDRAM. A good thing that my husband's retirement hobby of building computers has now yielded a box of obsolete and superseded components which are now fodder for MM challenges!

A yellow ring light was used to enhance the colour.

The entire coil is about 1.5” (4cm) in diameter.

No sign of Marlon Brando though ;o)

For the Macro Mondays challenge "Inside Electronics" (July 9th 2018)

This year we replaced our old computers, and that meant destroying hard drives. I saved a few components, including a circuit board - "just in case". So I dusted it off for this week's challenge. At last one of my hoarded items has found a use! Shot on the black glass of my Kindle.

HMM and have a great week! ;o)

SETI (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence)

The best way to find laser flashes from an alien civilization is to look everywhere, all the time, and a new project aims to do just that.

The SETI Institute, in Mountain View, California, has created a system which it calls "Laser SETI" which consists of eight cameras constantly observing the universe.

"The universe we call home is vast! It's also nearly 14 billion years old, so it's very difficult to imagine that we are alone.

Yet extraterrestrial life still eludes our efforts to find it. Now we have a chance to be a part of the technology that can change that forever." —said SETI Institute President and CEO Bill Diamond.

"Laser SETI is the first experiment to circumvent this assumption —Diamond adds—, because it's designed to find a very short ping that doesn't stay on all the time: it can detect a laser flash as short as a microsecond, and one that might not repeat for days, weeks, or even longer."

So I took my torch apart and photographed the bulbs.

Inside an old Grundig radio from the 1970's, still going strong! Electronic engineers must be true geeks to figure out all this stuff.

I had to wait until Graham was ready this morning, before I could take my Macro Mondays photo. I needed him to take the old landline phone apart. He managed it before having his second mug of coffee too, bless him.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.:O)

Macro Mondays - Inside Electronics

.....of an old CD Rom. Board lightend from the back.

This is my macro Monday entry for July 9th, 2018 theme Inside Electronics.

90 shots later, I had to stop because the smoke from all the sparklers gave me a headache. The set-up was easy enough - a few test shots got the mood I liked its the sparks that were the problems... none of the little buggers wanted to fall at the right spot in the right amount! I eventually got about 4 useable shots.

On the technical side... Olympus 60 mm macro lens with a 7mm extension tube. Light on the right was from a set of color LED because I like the purple/blue and pink tones they give out. I use a tripod and the 1/6 of a sec exposure gave me decent trails. The photo was grossly underexpose not to burn the sparks and the shadows were brought back in Lightroom. The board was an old furnace control module that gave out in the fall.

My photograph is a memorial for transputers. They were CPUs for parallel processing in the last century and the last oportunity for an Europian processor industry. Now Europe humbles behind the rest of the world in technical innovations.

This little Lavender beetle seemed to think it had found one of it's mates, but he should of resisted, as it was only a similar shaped electronic resistor, I should imagine it was a bit of a shock!

It may well of been if it was powered up though ..... Ha' ...Ha'

Macro Mondays: 09-07-2018

Topic: Inside Electronics.

HMM Everyone!!!!!

The inside of my DVB signal meter for Macro Monday's theme "Inside Electronics" Yes. I put it back together and it appears to work.

#MacroMondays #InsideElectronics

For this weeks theme I first disassembled and old keyboard. Unfortunately, the circuit board was too small (the yellow one with the green lamps in the front) so I also opened up an unused printer we had sitting in the garage. That's were I got the second green circuit board from (also not incredibly large but hey...). The seedling is some wild growing weed that I plugged from one of our flower pots. The result is not exactly how I envisioned my image to be, I would have liked larger circuit boards to entirely fill the frame but I ran out of old electrical equipment ;-)

My entry for this week's Macro Mondays theme, Inside Electronics.

I only recently came across the fact that my Macro lens produces natural sunstars with NO processing necessary (just one of those things one learns about one's lenses after owning it for over a year!!). I just stop down enough and make sure that there is reflected light hitting the front element and there you go!

For the Macro Mondays Theme:

"Inside Electronics"

Hope you didn't get wired up...⚡️

I don't know anything about electronics. I know this is some kind of electronic device in an electric modeltrain (I briefly borrowed it from my husband, so he didn't notice 😇)

HMM to all of you

Thank you for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated.
