Jesuitenkirche (Iglesia de los Jesuitas) de Viena está inspirada directamente en la Iglesia del Gesù de Roma.

Fue construida entre 1614 y 1655 en estilo barroco y su suntuosa decoración es un testimonio del poder de los Jesuitas que, en el s. XVII, suprimieron toda influencia protestante en Austria. El maestro del trampantojo, Andrea Pozzo, autor de la Apoteosis de San Ignacio en Roma, fue el encargado de esta importante obra arquitectónica en la que decoró la cúpula y el púlpito, que cuenta con bellas marqueterías de nácar.

"La chiesa di San Cataldo è un tempio cristiano eretto nell'XII secolo e situato in piazza Bellini a Palermo.

Fondato da Maione di Bari, negli anni in cui era grande ammiraglio di Guglielmo I, e cioè fra il 1154 e il 1160, l'edificio venne successivamente affidato ai benedettini di Monreale, che lo custodirono fino al 1787.

Nel 1882, dopo varie vicissitudini che videro la chiesa inglobata in una struttura neoclassica ad opera dell'architetto Alessandro Emmanuele Marvuglia e trasformata persino in ufficio postale, venne interamente restaurata da Giuseppe Patricolo e restituita alla rigorosa struttura architettonica originaria....

La chiesa di San Cataldo è affidata all'Ordine equestre del Santo Sepolcro di Gerusalemme - luogotenenza Italia Sicilia / sezione di Palermo ed è aperta al pubblico dall'Associazione Amici dei Musei Siciliani. L'Ordine equestre del Santo Sepolcro di Gerusalemme, storicamente, risulta essere il più antico degli ordini sacri e militari dovendosi ricollegare all'iniziale affidamento del Santo Sepolcro ad un gruppo di venti “frates” per la sua custodia e che, all'occorrenza, avrebbero anche dovuto impugnare le armi per la Sua difesa.

Dal 3 luglio 2015 fa parte del Patrimonio dell'umanità (Unesco) nell'ambito dell'"Itinerario Arabo-Normanno di Palermo, Cefalù e Monreale".

“La pavimentazione a tarsie marmoree e lastre di porfido e serpentino, per quanto integrata da restauri, conserva ancora sostanzialmente la sua preziosa conformazione originaria."

Just want to let you know I will be traveling to the Connecticut family cottage for my birthday and the July 4th holiday so with no internet that leaves me basking in the sun at the beach! Lol. See you in ten dazes...:))
