Anima Series 5

Sitting No. 159

Lismore NsSW 2018

My friend Mark took this shot with my camera when he came by to visit last week. I rather liked it. Interesting to compare it with the one below from 40+ years ago.

Our Daily Challenge ODC Blue

Blue glass apple orange background

I know the challenge was Blue but I decided that blue should be the accent colour for this shot.

9 pieces

Probably been done before somewhere.

Replace the 1x2 orange plate with a tile and add a 2x2 plate behind the seat to move the seat forward (moves the sides back a plate). Creates a nicer overall look, but no attachment points inside the cockpit for controls.

Version 2 w/ studs on side

A peek inside a Dandelion Clock. The flower matures into a globe of fine filaments that are usually distributed by wind, carrying away the seed-containing achenes. This globe (receptacle) is called the "clock", and blowing it apart is a popular activity for children worldwide.

For Sooper Tramps 30 Days in January Challenge.

Day ten: any photo you like for any reason.

I am posting this because it is was one of my most ambitious SP setups ever. Now that my 52 weeks is coming to an end I wanted to use this to remind me to keep pushing the boundaries and trying new and creative things.

Happy Monday everyone :-)

About the setup: 4 foot square frame made of 2x4's on the floor of the garage. Placed black tarp inside and filled with water about 2" deep. My hands and feet are on top of clear glass dinner plates.

Pie. There is nothing quite like it. So many varieties....fruit, cream, custard, ice cream, chiffon, savory. The list could go on and on. My favorite, if I am forced to choose, varies from season to season. In the winter, I prefer a fresh pumpkin pie piled high with cool and light whipped cream. Spring has me craving something light and tart....lemon chess or raspberry chiffon...mmmmm. Summer brings such a bounty of beautiful sweet fruit.....strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, peach. The stain of red and purple juices are the only thing that remain on the plate. And autumn, with the scent of leaves turning and apples ripening in the warm sun. I love a good apple pie with the apples baked to perfection (not too soft and not too crunchy) inside a golden buttery crust.

Yes. I love pie.

Got a wild hair and things are getting worked on and finished.

This is a re-edit from a photo taken last year at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Tekapo, NZ. I wouldn't normally post a re-edit but i think in this case it is worthwhile as it is a much improved version (i think anyway). I've learnt a bit more about processing over the past few months so I have been going over some of my earlier photos. Let me know your thoughts, I value critical freedback!

The original version can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/markmcleod80/8671799570/

Today I used my new Nikon D300 for the first time. Tried some macro shots @home. This one was focused on the back of the droplet reflecting the inner part of the blossom.

This camera is really exciting ...

A lot of old memories have been gently treading through my thoughts - it's an odd but wonderful source of comfort, especially because the last few months have been... well, you know.

Completely natural light, no editing.

I set out to capture the supermoon during the lunar eclipse last night, but unfortunately, the eclipse started before moonrise in this area and there was a low band of clouds somewhere past the Cascades that hid the moon from view once it did rise until it was in the waning stage of the eclipse.

I shot a number of images during this time and on two instances captured objects zipping by in front of the moon. I had read discussions on line of individuals photographing unknown objects that passed in front of the moon from somewhere in outer space, but this was the first time I had personally witnessed it.

The first object was quite a bit slower (although still quite fast) than this second object that I've posted here. Shutter speed was 1/1000th of a second and these two images were shot back to back in continuous shooting mode, which equates to around 4-6 frames per second.

The other object was smaller and harder to tell if it was man-made or natural. I think this one looks like a meteor, but who knows; perhaps it's one for Project Blue Book. Maybe it's a flying saucer and there were little green men inside of it.

This was taken while i was in a boat inside this huge cave so it is prob not the best shot . the top of this part of the cave had fallen in many many years ago so all the light came into this part and i just loved how it made the water look and the different blue colours . i sure do love caves a lot

i will be away for a week or so and i will catch up with all the photos when i get back

wishing you all a brilliant week ahead

It was quite an impressive sight to see the inside of the dome. So much architectural and hand painted detail. So little time as well as the only way to see the dome I believe is part of a guided tour. One thing that really caught my interest was the hand drawn people circling the dome. It is actually a two-dimensional drawing that takes on a Three-dimensional look thanks to the artists use of shading.

This is inside Gaudi's masterpiece here in Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia. We spent a few hours inside here exploring and taking a ton of photos... I'm currently in a Mild Panic because when I imported my photos into Lightroom I have a 30-minute gap and I know I'm missing a ton of photos... can't figure it out! Over the past two days, the software in the Hasselblad has been a little buggy with telling me my card is full when it is not, slow writing, etc. So.... I'm about to go CSI Barcelona to try to find these missing photos. In the meantime, I'll post a few that I still have.

...and sometimes the rules just get in my way.

I have a certain amount of pain in my past.

Not bitterness, so don't confuse the fact that of me carrying things with me daily with me being angry. I'm not angry, I just never was trained to let things fall away from me like I believe many people do.

In fact, much of me is untrained....just experience.

I never watched anyone lead the life I've led, or one like it. So I'm pretty much touch and go on that shit.

But people like me I've found rarely in this life. By "like me" I mean people that build themselves upon their past, change accordingly; yet carry it all like a shroud in the meantime.

I can be at work, smiling and assisting a nice old lady with her millions; and on the inside there's still a sliver of me that is somewhere else.

I think many people slowly learn to live without the memories. They don't forget them...but they incorporate them comfortably.

I don't.

I never will.

I am still a shadow of the 14 year old who I have changed from. I don't view that as a bad thing.

I just seem to be one of the odd ones, the ones who always carry that darkness with them.

*shrugs*

I guess along with the 'real' photography I've been doing, comes real thought.

Sorry, if maybe you find that odd.

Still just...feeling raw in many ways.

Apparently I'm far too thoughtful today.

I'm not unhappy...or sad. :)

In fact, I'm rather having a splendid day if I don't say so myself.

Sorry for the vent. Count all that as my TRF, eh? ;-)

Mom's birthday...I'm off to clean up a bit before G gets home early for work.....(yay)

happy thoughts to you all.
