This week’s theme for Macro Mondays is the number 6 & I wanted to do something simple but fun. Anyway, I was trying to think of an idea & noticed the Hickory Farms’ melt away mints on my desk aka my recent addiction. They’re so yummy & colorful that I wish they would have come in the right shape. So, I decided to just line them up to form a number 6.
Not posed - they just let me shoot them as they sat outside a house, the older lady inside was a candid
don't worry I only have another two hundred photos of this dress and me in it of course.
This reminds me of those old masters I use to look upon in the art galleries. the way the they caught the light bouncing of the heavy duchess satins the low lights in the folds of the materials the pure ostentatious extravagance of those dresses that I longed to wear myself. How I wished I was one of those ladies back then.
He looks completely bored! We've had such dreary weather I had to resort to taking flash photos of the cats this weekend. (ps - please ignore the cat hairy couch! I vacuum it every week but you could never tell)
my first finish of 2011. that i started in feb 2010. hooray for a new pillowcase for the bed!! this is my special pillowcase now. not to be shared :) the front is densely quilted over the hexies, and then the rest is plain white with quilting lines about an inch apart.
this batting was "pre-used". when i deconstructed my FFA 1 quilt this was the batting inside. i was a little worried it wouldn't crinkle since the batting had already been washed, but luckily the kona snow was unwashed and aided the crinkle :)
now i guess i should re-quilt my FFA 1 quilt...but now i need batting for it!!
My first own birthday cake :-)
The bottom cake is Blackforrest cherry cake, the upper cake is vanilla cake with raspberries and white ganache. Tulips and swirl design out of gumpaste

For over 300 years, this was the tallest building in Europe and is an excellent example of Gothic Architecture. You can find more about the history of the Cathedral at the official website by following this link:
Older pic. This is Dizzie when we first brought her home at about 8 weeks old. We called her our little alien. :D She was the runt of the litter, but I took her into a separate room by herself, tested her food and noise aggression as well as her dominance. She was *awesome* as a puppy and ended up being awesome as a dog. She was a gift for my ex-gf and is still with her Mommy and others now. I assume they are all happy as can be. :)
working with newborns is very new to me..
the lighting on this one was a piece of paper folded into a snoot over a 580EXII held by the father camera right about 4 feet away..

a tribute on Nike SB’s behalf to Jeff and the Fly Skateshop he started in Shanghai after quiting his previous job working at a milk processing plant. The theme of the Blazer involves a missing person ad on a carton utilizing the same color scheme as a milk carton in China (the Chinese characters on the heel translate to milk). Due to the countless amount of time spent by Jeff, this can be related to being “missing” hence the use of his picture on the heel tab. The shoe was designed by Matt Irving
Taken a while back and just recently found, this shot was taken inside a very large (40-50 feet tall) Christmas tree made of strands of white lights at night. Located outside of the Opryland Hotel, Nashville TN, in December 2012.
Many were standing around photographing the lights. I looked around and found no ropes, fences or signage so I stepped between the strands, placed my camera against the support pole and with my Tamron 18-270 lens, took this shot. By the time I left there were 8-10 folks inside the tree taking photos.
Sometimes it just takes one to get the dancing started!

Ivy was really asleep here! She pitched her a little fit right as we were fixing to take these and cried herself to sleep. I snapped this one and she woke up.
