Blogged here! We all collect threads and I have loads of old spools which look pretty even if the thread is not really useable. I've put some notes on for the different fabrics- there were a lot of points to match and a high level of accuracy is not my strongest point but it is all a great big learning curve. Still needs its border to neaten it up but I'll add that later.
Julian and Joe came to visit for a bit so i had to grab Julian, slap some eyeliner on him and take his photo :)

Inside a complex of tunnels built into a hillside by the Germans during the occupation of Jersey in WW2. It was intended as a secure hospital in the event of the allies invading the islands, but was never needed.

The most unique feature about this photo is that I managed to capture a panorama without a crane in sight. Downtown Boise construction has been so aggressive over the last decade that the skyline changes monthly. The newest building (still under construction) from this point of view is on the right with the Clearwater logo, which includes a new underground mass transit bus station. The Idaho State Capitol building is tucked away to the right of the Zions Bank tower. There are several buildings under construction behind camera, and several more planned that haven't broken ground yet.
The sky was filled with a smokey haze from distant forest fires, but I believe it actually helped with the exposure.

I liked this fisheye shot, and the man looking up adds to the sense of awe at the architecture inside.
OK, so this may look like one of those look up and shoot with a wide angle lens, but actually it is my labour of love. Why, you may ask? Well, the ceiling is vast and when I say vast I mean that the only way to capture it fully is to go crazy wide!. This is an 8 shot fisheye stitch! Now, the main problem with using a fisheye to stitch is distortion and after trying several different pieces of software I was still finding it impossible. I then found some software called Kolor AutoPano Stitch, and whilst it has taken me the best part of 3 hours to work out how to configure the stitch and additionally correct the distortion I am impressed with the end result. Some of you may be thinking, why bother, you may be right, but seriously, its one of those things I started doing and was determined to see through. I have tried to stitch a number of fisheyes in the past but something always seems to go wrong. What I will say about AutoPano, is that you can set the lens correction values and also specify that you are using a fisheye lens, which is something that is missing in the other software. Part of me thinks I probably could have used a lens that was less wide and have taken more shots, but then I would not have been able to correct the distortion quite so well.
Oh, it's the ceiling inside the Tate Britain on London's Millbank taken on a day out with Flickr buddies with Paul C Stokes, Daniel Borg, Tim Green and Paul Baggaley.
Happy Thanksgiving for all those who celebrate! Have a great day! :-)
All God's children need travelling shoes
Drive your problems from here
All good people read good books
Now your conscience is clear
In the morning when I wipe my brow
Wipe the miles away
I like to think I can be so willed
And never do what you say.

Another look at the superb brickwork in the underground area of the old Prague sewage treatment plant ... with more light and less color than the last image.
There are some images from the early 1900s of this place being built, a big cluster of brick humps in a pit that was later filled in. You couldn't guess from above what the insides look like here.
It's holding up really well for 110 years old.

I am very thankful that my parents are fantastic savers of all the great stuff I had when I was little, and that they bought the great stuff in the first place! This is the space at the top of our staircase, part of the upstairs hallway. It works perfectly for a little playhouse area, and only looks like this overnight and first thing in the morning.
Thank you for all your comments on my last post. Happy to read that you like my actions. Happy Saturday!
