some bigger drawings i'm working on.

Some will get resin cones, some will just get a patina.

I've begun work on a new painting this morning, this is the first coat of paint, a basic - intentionally almost cartoonish - landscape. The canvas is 30" x 24". These photos are intended to help illuminate my creative process in creating the painting 'audacity of hope'. See lessthanthis.com for the full description.

The new wood is up, and mostly primed.

pattern is a modified version of the Lopi Lace Scarf from Weekend Knitting, in Knitpicks Suri Dream

added bigger leaves and smaller oval shape. Still need to do some shading inside the oval as it is still wet.

This is just a scan of the handdrawn fonts- no editing. I'm also uploading a version where I edited the type, added color and boxes, etc.

I discovered that it was much easier for me to just use my hands (sort of like clay). I wasn't going for a machine-smooth look, and using my hands I could layer the mixture to create a weathered texture.

I think Scott is pulling this a little, but either way, it'll need a good rigorous blocking to make the pattern stand out and not be caught up by the body.

 

This will go around the top of the hips, sort of. Should look nice on the recipient! And the arms look long enough, but not too too long.

 

So the mods are go. Which is good because I'm so not re-knitting this sweater from the start!

Started using green circles for trees in the empty spaces where the river meets the canal.

alternating both balls will become my gloves for this winter. or at least the fall anyway.

Here is my attempt at a seed beaded bail~~ Just not quite right. This was my second try, I was planning on adding a similar piece to the bottom with fringe but I needed a break!

Day 1! March 16, 2013

Ceasar wrap, snuggles with the kitty, figuring out exactly what I did for sock number one and starting sock number two, and finding out that my computer doesn't want to recognize the SD card from my camera. My next project after these socks; to design my own sock pattern.
