starting to construct the leaf

I'm gearing up for a few back to back shows in the coming months. I was up late last night making things. This is my sewing table right now.

A painting commission of Kimi the Zombuki. (Zombuki's are designed by Brigitte.

Acrylic on Canvas, 22 x 26cm

Each border takes exponentially longer and longer to make! Flying geese were killing me to make so I only made two sides of the border using flying geese and the other two sides I make zig zags the Denyse Schmidt way ~ much easier and less seams to deal with!

About a 44" square... I'm tempted to stop here cuz I can't wait to quilt this up!

Free-falling

.... a heavy numbness seized her limbs, thin bark closed over her breast, her hair turned into leaves, her arms into branches, her feet so swift a moment ago, stuck fast in slow-growing roots, her face was lost in the canopy. Only her shining beauty was left.

Custom Heather Sky, in progress for *chacha*. The above quote refers to some of the greek mythology of Daphne, on which Cagla based the concept for her girl.

The Stainless Steel Frames are 1st wrapped/clad in Muslin.

Later a Composite is made with Rice papers, adhesives,Fire Retardant Chemicals, and then sealed and sanded and sealed again.

The final effect is like Parchment, or Velum.

These will be mounted to a Stainless Steel "pan" /backplate- that will hold the bulbs to the wall- and allow the "shade" to be removed for changing the bulbs.

I might need to rip this out due to lack of contrast, not sure yet.

A pancake costume under construction. The butter pat is a painted small pizza box. The pancakes are cut from 1/2" styrofoam insulation, to overflow an 18" serving platter. A little paint, a little glue, a little tasty epoxy syrup... they'll be good enough to eat.

Just figuring out the proportions

The changing station migrated to the other side of the room.

My first socks! (Okay, well, there was one aborted attempt earlier, but I'm trying to forget that.) I'm knitting these as part of a class at The Studio - the yarn is merino wool from www.helloyarn.com in Jamaican Blue Mountain. The skein has 395 yards. I'm at 6" on the cuff of the sock now and I'm trying to decide how long I can make them without risking running out of yarn when I get to the toes.

Green Screen suits are surprisingly close to being 1 size fits all. A toddler fit into this suit earlier in the residency!

This is the newest revamp of my Nightmare claw (before the skin goes on) shown actually on my arm so you can get a better idea of how this works. The structure here was built up with small pieces of foam, making it much lighter than previous versions. There is a space on the palm that will be covered with stretch fabric (like the older versions) so that I can still hold onto Soul Edge. Each finger does also have a knuckle that pivots to allow for a little bit more animation.

(Er...and I'm wearing an ugly tyran Starscream shirt, yes. Don't judge me...too much.)

work in progress - just freshly primed before his paint job. CD case for scale.

Charla en la Universidad Antonio de Nebrija con mis últimos trabajos.

Still some small bits of work and touch ups needed, but I needed to take a break, so thought I'd see if there was any constructive criticism I could get from you fine folks!

In hindsight, got kind of an old school FAL look to the outline.
