In progress item for my shop. Idea and tutorial from DIY Dish. LOVE them! :)

Finally giving this wee bunny a face. I think it needs a little extra stuffing so I'm going to have to rip the seam. I think I'll do that down in the back where I didn't add a tail before since I've been regretting that choice.

Another view of the first coat of paint and the finished fence.

One of the most difficult aspects of this dress was the collar. I originally thought I could make the collar by interfacing it with an extra-heavy interfacing: hah!

The weight of the dress pulls fabric right out of shape, even with fusible interfacing AND extra-heavy non-woven interfacing.

What finally worked is TWO layers of extra heavy interfacing, on cut with the grain vertical vs. gravity, on with the grain parallel to the edges. Thu upper layer is interfaces with a fusible.

The front and back pieces are sewn together with a wide zig-zag (gosh, I love my industrial Pfaff!), and the edges are reinforces with millinery wire.

new stitching in progress. because everyone needs more naked ladies.

An in-progress look at my Leiber piece.

Here's the final.

Kinetic study model I made to get a handle on the effects generated in this parametric rig.

Oil on canvas.

This 9x10 room is really multi-purpose. It used to be my office, but I merged with the other office over a year ago.

The powder blue walls (and trim) with the horrible border are finally history. Sadly, Scott discovered that the blue paint itself was over wallpaper. ARGH. People...

Anyway, the blue wall will eventually have my sewing machine against it (it's currently in the office while renovations and guests overtake the room).

We need a guestroom for a month every summer, and for a weekend every other month, at a minimum. I am continually arguing with myself about whether that means it should be indefinitely a guestroom, or if there is some other solution.

Scott's doing a great job, despite my freaking out about things I cannot control.

Lettering in progress, day & night

Here the underlining (white) has been applied and the lining (black) is ready to be sewn on.

Jin and I did some gardening and hardscaping in our little piece of outdoor space! I love it now sooooo much!

This project is almost entirely formal-- such a departure for me... still getting used to it.

wacky pooling but I don't (think I) mind it.

she didnt stay nude. it was too distracting and seemed to be the only thing people noticed when they saw it in the studio.
