Design Kompany’s big into the process of uncovering layers of a story to get to the heart of a great brand essence.
Hope to get around to finishing this soon... Outline is all done though and I think it looks pretty damn spot on :)
This one just needs to be bound. It is all quilted. It is made out of flannels. From “Cut-Loose Quilts by Jan Mullen
in process hand-painting for Gray continues...the acrylic was mixed with a fabric medium additive and just splotched on to get the watercolor effect as seen in the game.
This is the top collar, which required a lot of criss-crossed ribbon confusion just like the sleeves. Since the back will be covered by my hair, fur + the cape, I wasn't too concerned to have a bit of distortion on the intersections back there, and I just tried to concentrate on matching the front area to his desgin.
These are KnitPicks sock blanks that I grad-dip-dyed blue ombre to light blue... pattern is Waving Lace from Favorite Socks. (more knitting and sewing at www.polkadotoverload.com )
Paracell v2 arrays cells along the guide splines using a user-defined spacing value. Earlier versions, like the one pictured here, arrayed cells based on the points of the guide spline. This proved very limited.
My Xmas gift to my sis-in-law!
I crocheted these leg warmers to look like boot tops. The idea is that the boots are knee-high and lined with black faux fur. Her actual winter boots are ankle height hiking boot style and are black with brown trim... soooo I made ;these black with brown trim.
The metal rings are split rings - the type you put your keys on. I just made sure that when I crocheted into them I worked stitches over the "break" in the splitring so you can't tell that's what they are!
The faux fur "lining" of the boot-tops is a row of hdc done in Bernat Boa yarn.
My own design, crocheted mostly in linked hdc using Red Heart Comfort.

cutting out a bunch of particular slivers of foam (this would have been free0form normally, but I wanted the layers to mirror the other side.)
Keeps the whole thing together. Not as sturdy as I would like it to be, but the best I can do with my parts.
there are two "rooms" in the raw studio, this is the one with light -- it could definitely be just a playroom/fort for the kids
Really, it would have made total sense to make this out of black foam and black piping...instead of taking the time to paint it. I just didn't realize that I was planning on leaving this solid black and matte (probably) for the final piece.
In any case, this is a good example of how the Liquitex paint matches the really subtle sheen of the original foam (probably because they are both similiar plastics.)
I've had some friend's girls here for a while, patiently waiting their turn ... every one is carved now and gets air-brushed on Friday and Saturday! Wheeee!
dollies for Shershe/*chacha*/and Cybermelli.
I’m currently making two plush dolls for a special project, so I thought I’d share some in progress pics and talk about making them. :)

First I start out with a rough sketch of what I want to make. I already have an idea of what their personalities are like, and I try to bring that out in their expression, outfit, and overall look. My creative process is always evolving, and new decisions are made at every step that I could never have forseen with the initial sketch (later on you can see that I scrapped the dresses, and swapped the mouths).
