this is simply red food colouring dropped into a vase of water with a pipet taken from the front, white backdrop behind, lit from above using an external flash. edited in pp, colour balance ect.
Went hiking yesterday and on almost to the end this older, muppet-ish looking guy rushed past me, quite flustered. His arms were flailing and he looked so wobbly. The only thing he said as he passed was "I think I've bitten off more than I can chew." And off he flailed, quickly disappearing ahead of me, dressed in a blue gym suit and bright orange beanie. Strange man, that one.

The Paris Motor Show flashback includes some drawings of the journalist's heads done on Sketchbook Ink and yes each journalist is speaking different languages....including French. Of course the car designer's team travel home would be taking the Eurostar from France to London and then flying to Chicago.

I set myself up for utter failure. Or did I? Anyway, it felt like I tried so hard to make this sketch fail.
1) Really big brushes to make rendering finer details practically impossible - CHECK
2) Crappy copier paper that is bound to wrinkle and tear (which is both did) - CHECK
3) Little or no experience in a medium, so lack of skills is a sure thing - CHECK
4) Unlucky number for a day of the month - CHECK
Maybe this is an example that it is so bad that it is actually good. More likely, I was so busy getting things right, I didn't have time to mess things up.

i nudged it with my foot, hoping to flip it over
failing, i bent down and flipped it over

i stood, contemplating the possible meaning of finding that particular card
as i walked away i noticed a lady staring at me like i was crazy or homeless or at
least trying to figure out what the hell i was doing
i thought "what, you don't ever flip over playing cards that are face down on the sidewalk? how sad ." and "i wish she was a curious woman"
