Hard roads and endless lines flow through his veins

Cold steel and hot fuel injected 's the dream that fills his brain

But no, not slow, the speed fever grows

He rides, he sees, he knows

You've got to ride to live, live to ride

Feel the flames burn inside

And though you know, you ride to hide

You ride to live to ride

Life's short and goes too fast, most pages burn

Don't wait, the end's too near, some people never learn

You all won't fall, the road fever calls

So run or fly, don't crawl

You've got to ride to live, live to ride

What's even real? It's not even about flesh or plastic anymore. Might as well tear it all away.

…….Slurry injection - a quick stop the car moment driving back from a garden centre to grab my #073 shot of the day, quite pleased with the phones performance given that he was on the move & I was on the other side of the hedge! He was just lifting the injectors as I ‘clicked’, taken on my phone in Apple RAW & edited in Lightroom. Feel free to Press 'Z' or Pinch out to take a closer look. Alan:-)

“People could look back in 100 years and identify the coronavirus epidemic as the moment when a new regime of surveillance took over, especially surveillance under the skin which I think is maybe the most important development of the 21st Century, is this ability to hack human beings."

The Chinese Wall in the ceter of the photo is a volcanic dike in Wapiti Valley west of Cody Wyoming that cuts through Eocene sedimentary and volcanics rocks. Dikes form as lava is injected into the fractures the host rock and then solidify. In the volcanic areas like the Absarokas these dikes radiate in swarms out from volcanic eruptive centers. The Chinese Wall radiates out from a volcanic center north of Wapiti Valley.

Since my childhood, I have always looked for the Wall on any trip up the North Fork, usually on my way to Yellowstone National Park. It stood by itself on the beautiful north side of the valley. But recently (in the past 10 years), ranches have been sold, land subdivided and homes are starting to clutter Wapiti valley. Even on the northside of the valley, a couple of homes encroach on the Chinese Wall.

Remember that dastardly duo I shared with you guys on Monday? Well, an hour and eight minutes later, I was returning up the path and happened to spot this fly - and then realized the scene before me.

What!!

Were they sharing?!

I don't know the story here. Did one of them snag the fly, but the other, on the other side of the fly, only see the fly and go for it, too, not realizing it had already fallen prey?

If they know the other is there, do they care?

If the spider injected venom into the fly, is the ambush bug in trouble?

Such a mystery!

With just a pinch and a dash

Parus caeruleus play the tune

recalling a twilight's tribune

a mood so completely overthrown

by operatives as yet unknown

handle me with care I know-

not what the future will bestow

in it's subtitled timelessness;

driven to distraction and numbness

a cold raining down of sobriety

revamps the shivers so sharply

this tingling, sensationally borderline

from morbidity and a life divine

give in or give up is optically offered

at the end of a needle, nothing bettered

in the hours upon days I await

for it is still the weeks I cannot translate

into the simplified language of today

words to fit the here and now please say

something to ease and allay my fears

paralyses keep me walking in mind

only Iberian chillouts, music enshrined

keep me going as the athlete of hope

for I'm a surgical-citizen 'walking' a tightrope

in time that isn't on my side, nor in my presence

so it's to Nature that I seek Her finest treatments.

Ryhope Pumping Station

.

Yesterday we were at Presbyterian Hospital in surgical waiting. My sister's husband had his hand close to a fuel injection line that blew and ended up with diesel fuel injected into him.

Needed surgical debridement.

I wish the door into this patio was unlocked, but I think the reflections actually are okay.

After color boosting and increasing hue contrast in Ps LAB mode, then overlay blur layers and variants of Orton style layers, I had to slide everything back a bit to be able to look myself in the mirror...

:-)

Happy Sliders Sunday!

And the brother-in-law's hand is doing better but he might still lose part of a finger and has lots of antibiotic in his near future.

All-in-all, this past week has been a bit rubbish, heartbreakingly traumatic funeral, follow-up hospital visit after surgery on my foot (thanks, chemo) and a healthy dose of poison via canula. I am grateful that this weird drug has been invented and that I'm able to have it, so many in the United Kingdom are denied this treatment because they're caught up in the post code lottery, but it's still tough having it. I am achy in my bones and really longing for a chilled glass of wine, but we don't have any in the house so it'll be a long longing...

The chelicerae (/kəˈlɪsəriː/) are Chelicerae (singular : chelicera ) are the mouthparts of the Chelicerata, an arthropod group that includes arachnids, horseshoe crabs, horseshoe crabs, etc.

Commonly referred to as "jaws", some chelicerae, such as those found in spiders, are hollow and contain (or are connected to) venom glands, and are used to inject venom into prey or a (perceived) threat.

CHINESE PANGOLIN

Pangolins are unusual looking mammals covered in hard scales which are made of keratin – the same substance that forms our fingernails. They can consume up to 20,000 insects a day!

Most pangolin species are now being driven toward extinction primarily because of the demand for their keratin scales, even though there is NO scientific evidence to suggest that the scales contain healing properties or special medicinal functions.

The Chinese Pangolin is listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List. It's also a protected species under the Wild Animals Protection Ordinance Cap. 170 in Hong Kong and it's a scheduled species under the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and Plants Ordinance (Cap. 586), which gives effect to CITES. Any commercial trading of the Chinese Pangolin (which is in CITES I), or its body parts, has been banned.

The IUCN estimate that a pangolin is poached every 5 minutes globally. Pangolins are injected with water and/or force fed with inappropriate diet to increase their mass and therefore commercial value.

Between 2015 and 2019, Hong Kong authorities seized over 35 tons of pangolin scales that represented about 70,000 pangolins. Less than 20% of these seizures were prosecuted.

- If you are extremely lucky to spot a healthy pangolin in Hong Kong, report your sighting to biodivcon@afcd.gov.hk (photo proof required)

- If you encounter an injured or distressed pangolin or any other wild animal in Hong Kong, call AFCD (1823) or SPCA (2711 1000) immediately (both are 24-hour hotlines).

The Triumph TR5 is a sports car built by the Triumph Motor Company in Coventry, England, between August 1967 and September 1968.

Visually similar to the Michelotti-designed TR4 roadster it was derived from, the TR5 replaced Triumph's 105 bhp (78 kW) SAE Standard inline-four engine with the much more powerful Lucas mechanical fuel-injected 150 bhp (110 kW) Triumph 2.5-litre straight-6. Price pressures and tighter emissions standards in the U.S. resulted in a much less powerful carburetted version, the TR250, being sold on the North American market.

I injected some flowers with Agave Nectar to give this Honeybee a reason to let me get close. Even though this shot is cropped I kept the aspect ratio the same as the un-cropped image (2:3) and Photoshop Elements 2022 up-sampled it, so it is still a 32MP photo.

Tech Specs: Canon 90D (F11, 1/125, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (set to about 1.5x) + a diffused MT-26EX-RT, E-TTL metering, -2/3 FEC. This is a single, cropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI and Clarity in that order. Shutter and ISO set to expose the sky in the background.

Dyed orchid roots.

Professional growers inject dye into the stems of white orchids to create colours not found in Nature.

The dye leaves a tell tale stain on the stems and roots.

This orchid had striking multi-coloured flowers.

The flowers died back naturally and now, a few months later new shoots are appearing.

It is likely to revert to its original colour now, so I will be very curious to see what appears.

Hepiopelmus variegatorius.

This is a fairly large (approximately 15mm long) and distinctively marked black and yellow Ichneumon wasp, with yellow u-shape on the mesonotum, thick yellow band along inner margin of eye and yellow marks only on front part of metasoma.

Found in various habitats, often in well vegetated areas.

Usually seen in August/September in Britain.

In Britain this wasp is a parasitoid of Buff and White Ermine moths. The female injects her long ovipositor inside the host caterpillar and deposits her eggs into the caterpillar’s body. Her young hatch and devour their host, pupate, and emerge to begin the cycle again.

Not well recorded in Britain where it appears to be widespread but uncommon.

At time of posting a check of NBN atlas shows 12 records for the UK, not including this one. 7 in England and none in Cumbria, ( where this one was found ), but might just be under recorded rather than being particularly rare.

My best guess would be a 1961 Standard Vanguard Six.

Every year when they start injecting water to the rice field, i get a bit shocked to see that the field becomes the ''sea'' just in one night. i'm surprised to see that they put water in the field almost on the top of the hill. It is interesting to figure out how they get the water.

Do not worry, this is black current sirop on my dirty hands, HMM!

A picture is worth a thousand words, this one for the many people addicted to drugs and suffering as they poisoned themselves day after day.
