"Bumblebee"
The bell tower
Strikes the hour
On another day
But I remember
Just out of nowhere
Young and slender
She appears from somewhere
Corduroy jacket
And leather satchel
Belt with brackets
Pants with denim patches
I clock the minute
With her in it
We were thick as thieves
She's my protector
Bad vibes rejector
Wise crack injector
Bumblebee inspector
She's my defender
For as long as I can remember
Fragile and tender
Small bird befriender
She's my protector
Bad vibes rejector
Wise crack injector
Bumblebee inspector
She's my defender
For as long as I can remember
Fragile and tender
Small bird befriender
Those times
It just hit me
They'll forever stay

Castellano:
Antoni Gallart.

English:
Demonstration of the lighting of the balloons by injecting fire into their interiors so that all their colors were very showy and following the rhythm of disco music. It is fantastic to see so many balloons inflated simultaneously, a real spectacle.
This time I looked for this frame and I had to wait for them to start their engines by injecting fire under pressure into the interior of the balloons, but not too much so that the air would not get too hot and they would come loose from their fasteners on the ground, for for that reason it was very difficult to catch them all at once injecting fire.
You must be so attentive to this moment and that the camera does not move, taking into account that you cannot use a tripod because you are among a large number of people and Engines running. (Igualada - Catalonia) among the balloons.
After a lot of shots, (more than thirty), I got the photo that I set out for myself ... and this is it.
But I was left with one eye that did not see well for a few minutes, because I was looking through the viewfinder for a long time and receiving shoves from people who passed from one place to another.
I comment on how I managed to take the photo, because perhaps many of them go unnoticed that all the engines are running within my frame ... I hope you like it.
Antoni Gallart.

“People could look back in 100 years and identify the coronavirus epidemic as the moment when a new regime of surveillance took over, especially surveillance under the skin which I think is maybe the most important development of the 21st Century, is this ability to hack human beings."

This large fierce-looking female robber fly is laying her eggs into a gray-headed coneflower's developing seed head. Even though her shiny black ovipositor is not a stinger I don't think I'd care to get stabbed with its sharp tip. Surprising to me, but very little information is available about the life of robber flies in the Machimus genus. I'm guessing the larvae drop to the ground and burrow down in the soil where they eat soft-bodied bugs there for up to three years before pupating and emerging as adults now in the summer season. I know for sure these adult robber flies dart out and capture any winged bug they can safely handle, quickly stabbing said prey between the eyes or some similar path of least resistance to inject a paralyzing toxin into the body before sucking the dead bug dry.
8x10 darkroom print
This is an experimental darkroom print from my "Aftermath" series. I am really happy that this print was purchased to be used in an album cover by a Japanese band Calme Adiction. Here is a link to where it appears calmeadiction.bandcamp.com/track/land-of-ulcer-live-ver
Also I'm really happy how the solarization turned out, it's a pretty hard darkroom technique.
Aftermath is a photography series I created during the pandemic, using a range of experimental techniques to explore the human condition in times of crisis. By employing methods such as film soup, developing color film with black-and-white chemistry, and innovative and alternative darkroom printing, I aimed to reflect the uncertainties and disruptions of the era. The work delves into themes of resilience, vulnerability, and the broader existential challenges posed by capitalism, offering a layered social commentary on our shared experiences during turbulent times.
With just a pinch and a dash
instilled silence beyond the Ash
Parus caeruleus play the tune
recalling a twilight's tribune
a mood so completely overthrown
by operatives as yet unknown
handle me with care I know-
not what the future will bestow
in it's subtitled timelessness;
driven to distraction and numbness
a cold raining down of sobriety
revamps the shivers so sharply
this tingling, sensationally borderline
from morbidity and a life divine
give in or give up is optically offered
at the end of a needle, nothing bettered
in the hours upon days I await
for it is still the weeks I cannot translate
into the simplified language of today
words to fit the here and now please say
something to ease and allay my fears
paralyses keep me walking in mind
only Iberian chillouts, music enshrined
keep me going as the athlete of hope
for I'm a surgical-citizen 'walking' a tightrope
in time that isn't on my side, nor in my presence
so it's to Nature that I seek Her finest treatments.

All-in-all, this past week has been a bit rubbish, heartbreakingly traumatic funeral, follow-up hospital visit after surgery on my foot (thanks, chemo) and a healthy dose of poison via canula. I am grateful that this weird drug has been invented and that I'm able to have it, so many in the United Kingdom are denied this treatment because they're caught up in the post code lottery, but it's still tough having it. I am achy in my bones and really longing for a chilled glass of wine, but we don't have any in the house so it'll be a long longing...
