Week 7: Droste Effect
Fortnight 4/52
Tried playing with layers on photoshop but that went disasterously so here is another try at Droste effect using photospiralysis

To celebrate christmas and the end of the year my boss arranged a 36 hours trip to Hamburg where we would visit the Elbphilharmonie which is still under construction. I'm still staggered by this whole trip. So much fun and what an experience!
What you see here is our hotel for the night. When we arrived in Hamburg it was really foggy so we couldn't really see the top of the building. That was quiet a shame because when we visited the skybar of the hotel we couldn't really see anything at all outside. But nonetheless I found it pretty atmospheric and great for taking photos
Unlike the rest of the Infinity (if not Stylus) family, this camera has a Zuiko lens. It bridges the Zuiko lens of the XA series, while seeking out the full AF AE features of the Infinity Stylus models.
Also known as the AF-1 and Nurepika.
Arty has the basic specs.
I had to open up the camera to clean the uv filter. The weather proofing gasket made it difficult to take out the screws. I didn't not bother to put the gasket back in. Technically, no longer a wet flash. But I think it will do better and not develop any more fungus on the filter. Just like a leaky condo, sometimes it's better to let a camera breathe.
Note: the camera lacks a NO FLASH option. Learn to love the flash. With a slowest shutter speed of 1/30 (max is 1/700) this camera most likely emphasizes sharpness.
Another thing, the focus lock is very odd. Press the focus lock. Hold it down. Then hold down the shutter. It won't fire. Then recompose. Then RELEASE the focus lock! It shoots.
If you want to disengage without firing, simply take your finger off the shutter release. The best way to hold it is with your left hand index finger on the focus lock. This means you will have three fingers on the front side. I tried to do it with my left thumb but it was awkward. See pics below.
Holding it like this prevents the index finger creeping over the flash.
....the Celebrity Infinity Cruise Ship was in Victoria, BC, Sunday!
Seen just before it left the dock at the Breakwater in James Bay.
so many cruise ships stop in Victoria, for a short tour and/or shopping trip around the city by carriage or pedicap or double decker bus....
the anchor was being lifted and it reversed and headed out to sea as we watched....heading to Alaska or back to LA?!?!?
happy Rosh Hashanah to my friends.....who celebrate
I got Paris on my mind, nowhere else though.
I've always wanted to make a photo like this, so here's my first attempt. I like it, I think. But I'm not sure about the crop and the empty spaces around the edges. Nothing seemed right, so I just decided to leave it like this. I hope I'll be better next time I try.
The shot of the Eiffel Tower is mine as well. Even happier! ;D
My husband and I got the infinity sign tattooed underneath our rings the night we got engaged. Turns out I'm allergic to gold and can't where my ring on a regular basis.
G and I decided that on June 30 (two years after his proposal), we're going to get full wedding band tattoos.
I've been searching for some design that would incorporate the infinity sign, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
The Infinity Pool is located on the 10th floor of Sofitel So Bangkok. It is as long as the width of the hotel building, which is 33.6 m. Swimmers can enjoy an unobstructed view of Lumpini park, with the underwater music and changing lights.
A small selection of my friends Infinity force with the miniatures based on characters from Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell. Some awesome work on these guys to make them look authentic. Batou wins hands down though, he looks bad ass ^_^
