The 10th Mountain Division (LI) held a retirement ceremony for 13 outstanding individuals on November 17th, 2017 at the Multipurpose Auditorium on Fort Drum, N.Y. These retiring officers and enlisted personnel have served a combined 286 years. We thank these individuals for their service and wish them well in future endeavors, wherever these leaders go they will remain mountain strong.
Premier Jason Kenney and Minister of Health Jason Copping provided, from Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary on Friday, May 13, 2022, an update on priority work to build health system capacity and add more critical care beds for Albertans.
Nineteen new critical care beds have opened in hospitals as the province delivers on its promise to expand health-care capacity to meet patient needs now and in future emergencies.
Alberta Health Services has opened and staffed 19 of 50 permanent intensive care unit (ICU) beds supported by $100 million this year from Budget 2022. The remaining 31 beds are expected to open by the end of September.

A concern of the Mayflower II project's sponsors was placement of the ship after it reached the United States. They were aware of the fate of earlier reproduction vessels that had rotted away after interest in their initial voyages faded. Project Mayflower had become aware of the Plimoth Plantation museum, and in March 1955, John Lowe of Project Mayflower came to the United States. He met with representatives of Plimoth Plantation to gain assistance in future berthing and exhibition of Mayflower II.

A couple of weeks ago I participated in a button swap, and these are the very pretty goodies that I was sent from Katjamillam in Finland. I especially love the mother of pearl and the sparkly ones. :) I'm looking forward to using these in future craft projects. Thank you, Katja!

My second roll from the Mamiya.
I'm much happier with this roll. Firstly, I used the meter in my OM2 (instead of my DSLR) and secondly, I followed Tim@ns lead and used 1+100 rodinal solution for an improved tonal range.
In future I will try to guess the exposure before I look at the meter and hopefully learn to judge the light levels myself and discard the meter altogether.

After having take inspiration by the group www.flickr.com/groups/intothenightphoto/ this is my first try to catch stars.
I set my camera as follow: 60 sec, f 10, ISO 200, 14 mm.
I tried also with lower ISO and higher ISO (3200) but I didn't reach good results.
I know, I'm not in a totally dark location (the light in the left down comes from the Malpensa Airport) but I think I can bring good pictures in future.
Anyone can suggest me some tips to improve the knowledge of the night sky photography?

Britcar Endurance Championship - Trophy Category (Race 1 Results FINAL)
The Britcar Endurance Trophy was the First up and it was time to see who could claim that elusive Pole Position and to see if anyone else could challenge the Top Three Drivers Lets see how things turned out.
In First Place was the Pairing Of (Datum Motorsport's Axel Van Nederveen and Adriano Medeiros) in their Ginetta G55A with a Best Lap Time of 52:193 and an Average Speed of 64.75mph. Congratulations Axel and Adriano a Really Fantastic Drive and A Super Victory.
In Second Place was (SVG's Mark Lee) in his Ginetta G56A with a Best Lap Time of 52.086 and an Average Speed of 64.70mph. Amazing Drive Mark Keeping that Ginetta on the Track and Taking Second Place while Nearly Matching the Speed of Axel and Adriano. Well Done.
In Third Place was (Terry Stephens) in his Peugeot 308 with a Best Lap Time of 53.421 and an Average Speed of 64.50mph. Well Fought Terry a Fantastic Finish in Third Place and Staying Ahead by just over 11 seconds to the Pair of Jasver and Bryan in 4th. Amazing Job.

Now it was Time for the Fan Favourite to Enter onto the Brands Hatch Circuit with the Pre 66 Touring Cars Championship. With Mini's Lotus Cortina's and Ford Falcons. This was One Race that No One Wanted to Miss. After a Very Fast Paced Qualifying Session on the Saturday Which saw (Alan Greenhalgh) take Pole Position who Will be able to Challenge Him During the Race and Snatch Victory Away from Him.

They are always a Fan Favourite and After Qualifying on the Saturday its Anyone's Game as to Who Wins and Who Losses in Thease Races.

Finally it was Time for the Last Two Races of the Day the Kumo BMW Championship. Featuring The Makes and Models of Many BMW'S taking to the Circuit for Race 1. After a Busy Day Qualifying on Saturday Lets See what Each Driver Cando in The Frist of Two Races for their Championship.
In First Place was (Niall Bradley) in his BMW E46 M3 with a Best Lap Time of 50.920 and an Average Speed of 83.60mph. Brilliant Driving There Niall Pushing the Power of the BMW Engine to Max and Putting the Pedal to the Metal the Whole Race. A Superb Victory.

Hasselblad 138: Expired Fujicolor HG 400 Testing
I recently tested out some expired Fujicolor HG Professional 400 that I got for free from a coworker. The first roll I shot was nearly completely blank, this is from the second roll.
It performed alright, not great but if I ever need a cheap color film it would perform. It definitely needs some extra light, at least 2 stops if not more. In future, I'll probably rate it at 50 or 25.
Apparently, negotiations are taking place, to try to replace it with a week-long festival in future years, to include art & music, and a food-fair !

I was curious about this lens because the 35mm was already very special. A wide angle but also a macro lens. On the test card I saw that wide-open there is a lot of blur in the corners but also a lot on the right side. Still, it is quite possible to get good pictures with this lens because my style is close focus. The center just needs to be sharp. The subject just has to be sharp. And normally the background corners and side is blurry because that's where the desired bokey is. Another cheap-feeling lens all plastic, and I know because it's been completely taken apart to clear a rear lens section of haze. It's not an easy lens, but it's definitely going to compete in future comparisons.

Captain's log: May 27th, 2017. I went out sailing with the Oxford University Yacht Club.
I thought I'd complement my MBA title with a fancy sport, and since everyone and their dog is doing golf, I decided to try out sailing - and perhaps upgrade that to yacht racing in future... if I'm any good.
I met with the more experienced members of the university's Yacht Club at 13:00 today and we caught a bus to Farmoor Reservoir, just 15 minutes from Oxford city centre.
On our arrival, we took upon the arduous task of readying the boats, hoisting the sails, and carrying these to the water.
The wind was quite fierce, and out of the four beginners, only two got to try actual sailing - the session was cancelled over safety reasons (one of us even capsized!), and I'll only get to experience real sailing next week.
Nevertheless, it was a fun day out, and I got to participate in a new activity. I certainly can't wait to do the real thing very soon!
Day 2 of Brands Hatch Brit Car into The Night and after a thrilling set of Qualifying and Racing Yesterday All Drivers were Ready Once again to Challenge the Circuit.

We had an event at our local airport called wings and wheels. There were a few vintage aircraft and some classic cars on display. There were not as many of the aircraft or cars as in future years, but that might be I was there when it first began on a Friday. Hopefully there was more participation throughout the weekend.
The 10th Mountain Division (LI) held a retirement ceremony for 13 outstanding individuals on November 17th, 2017 at the Multipurpose Auditorium on Fort Drum, N.Y. These retiring officers and enlisted personnel have served a combined 286 years. We thank these individuals for their service and wish them well in future endeavors, wherever these leaders go they will remain mountain strong.

The 2013 IFEX Strategy Conference - Overcoming Obstacles to Defending and Promoting Free Expression, co-hosted by IFEX member Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), offers a timely and critical opportunity to spotlight the rapidly evolving context of freedom of expression and human rights in the region, as well as the many challenges for collective free expression work.
Participants leave with a greater appreciation for what colleagues in the region are facing and better poised to offer support in future campaigns and joint actions.
On Saturdays a Farmers’ Market is held just outside our little town. It was started a few years ago, but is still very small. Therefore, although we had driven by numerous times when it was in session, we hadn’t bothered to stop until just last week. We are so glad we did, and intend to visit often in future. There are indeed only eight or ten vendors so far, but each one offers excellent quality, each in a different field. The first thing we bought was a basket of delicious yellow plums, grown on a small farm right on the south edge of town. Then we saw these Calla lilies, which came from down the road in Virgil. We were stunned by the strong colours. We both recognized immediately that they would go beautifully in our dining room, repeating exactly some of the colours in our wallpaper. We were told that if we put them in only an inch or two of water they should last a week or more, and so they did.
I went to see Betty's Summer Vacation (חופשת הקיץ של רותי, והדמות של שני בעברית היא הגברת צימרגרף) (great translationg and localization by Chen Shapira) by Christopher Durang, starring my cousin, Shani Klein. It was hillarious. Couldn't stop laughing. Hopefully the play will be bought by one of the theaters, and I will be able to recommend it to everyone. Had such a great time. You'll be seeing her in future productions, I'm sure!

As you can see this is kind of following my theme this week! I really like the way the light forms a line down the side of each bottle and also the way it shows the blue reflection on the wall. I think I probably need a little stronger light to get a better shadow effect and to really give it that feel of reflective light, but I didn't want to strong of a light to wash the picture out also.
I used this photo for my final because I really like the way this picture turned out using the fill card. This was probably one of the more interesting assignments during the course and I had a lot of fun playing around and taking pictures using different lighting and setups with the fill card. defiantly a good tool to use in future photos!
New model released tonight; 6mm (1/285th scale) Airport terminal building with control tower. This is perfect for any small city airport in most regions of the world.
This model might also work in future sci-fi settings.
Model is made from laser cut 1/16" clear acrylic and the control tower is cast resin. The model also includes etched window inserts that can be left clear or tinted in the color you desire and then installed in the model after the model is assembled and painted.
Photos show the model assembled in primed only, finished painted model will be photographed tomorrow and photos will be posted.

Heywood Model Rai;way held their Annual Exhibition in Rochdale Town Hall in 2018, and plan to do so in future years. There are two compelling reasons for attending this exhibition. Firstly, the exhibition is excellent with a wide range of layouts and commercial stalls. The group have some wonderful layouts and the visitors were of the same standard. The second reason for visiting is the venue. If you have not seen the Town Hall in Rochdale, it is a must. A Victorian Gothic Revival Gem, with some wonderful stained glass, a classic organ, and oak carving on the beams and fittings.
…we have a box. Finally got back to this project; lots to optimize in terms of efficiency and overall perfection, but for my first project cutting dovetails, I’m happy. Intent was to learn this process entirely by hand, no electrons burned. I’m not shooting for production speed; I’d like to continue and perfect this, but I’m very process driven and want to challenge myself and enjoy what I’m doing. Many things to try in future iterations, but for now I need to seriously sharpen and hone some plane irons. Pins and tails WAY too proud. Wife WILL get a Christmas gift yet!

In partnership with Caritas Nepal, CRS provided 50-day trainings to masons with a focus on earthquake-resilient construction techniques. These masons then led teams of unskilled laborers or people who participated in a shorter training. Trained masons help ensure that houses will be more resilient in future earthquakes and that families will be eligible to receive all three tranches (installments) of reconstruction money from the government. The project put a special focus on training female masons and people from vulnerable groups.
Sanju Bishwakarma, 28, is a lead mason in ongoing reconstruction projects. Her crew trusts her and she is known for her skill in binding rebar supports. Although some female masons reported that some families hesitated to hire them based on biases against women working construction, clients seek out Sanju based on her reputation for high-end work. She is simultaneously building her own home, although her government grants have been delayed based on a mistake in registration (she will be eligible when that mistake is rectified).
Here, Sanju is pictured in front of her partially-constructed home. She has done all the work herself, including design and foundation footings, and she has paid for all materials with her earnings as a lead mason. She will receive her government grants when a mistake with paperwork is resolved, but she wanted to build her home as quickly as possible. Her husband, Hira Bishwakarma, 30, assists with the manual labor for their home. So far they have walls and a temporary roof over one room of their future home, where they all sleep. They have one daughter, Arati Bishwakarma, 7, seen in some images as she gets ready for school.

In April and May 2015, two massive earthquakes struck Nepal. Over eight million of Nepal’s 28 million people were affected with nearly 2.6 million in urgent need of emergency shelter, water, food, medicines and reconstruction support. The Government of Nepal (GoN) declared a state of emergency and reported 8,891 deaths, 605,254 houses destroyed and 288,244 homes damaged. CRS is supporting the Nepal government’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
A 3-year multi-donor $11 M Gorkha Recovery and Resilience Project (GRRP) provides technical support for more than 20,000 households in reconstruction of earthquake resilient houses, livelihoods recovery and WASH. The majority of funding comes from CRS private funds, with additional support from LDSC and Caritas Canada (Development and Peace), Caritas Spain and Caritas Austria.
