This Art Trail was originally set to happen in 2020 and for obvious reasons was delayed. It was great to see this come to Cambridge as it meant that we could go and take photos around our own city as in other years we had gone to others such as Norwich. There was 1 major cow that is sadly behind closed doors at one of the museums. We tried to find as many of the Mini Moos as possible. Here is hoping that we get to do this again in future years.
In partnership with Caritas Nepal, CRS provided 50-day trainings to masons with a focus on earthquake-resilient construction techniques. These masons then led teams of unskilled laborers or people who participated in a shorter training. Trained masons help ensure that houses will be more resilient in future earthquakes and that families will be eligible to receive all three tranches (installments) of reconstruction money from the government. The project put a special focus on training female masons and people from vulnerable groups.
Sanju Bishwakarma, 28, (purple sweater and teal trousers) is a lead mason in ongoing reconstruction projects. Her crew trusts her and she is known for her skill in binding rebar supports. Although some female masons reported that some families hesitated to hire them based on biases against women working construction, clients seek out Sanju based on her reputation for high-end work. She is simultaneously building her own home, although her government grants have been delayed based on a mistake in registration (she will be eligible when that mistake is rectified).

Over eight million of Nepal’s 28 million people were affected with nearly 2.6 million in urgent need of emergency shelter, water, food, medicines and reconstruction support. The Government of Nepal (GoN) declared a state of emergency and reported 8,891 deaths, 605,254 houses destroyed and 288,244 homes damaged. CRS is supporting the Nepal government’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
A 3-year multi-donor $11 M Gorkha Recovery and Resilience Project (GRRP) provides technical support for more than 20,000 households in reconstruction of earthquake resilient houses, livelihoods recovery and WASH. The majority of funding comes from CRS private funds, with additional support from LDSC and Caritas Canada (Development and Peace), Caritas Spain and Caritas Austria.

Suppose with me for a second that everything you've ever desired in life was obtained. Suppose every dream you ever dared to dream came to fruition. Suppose every fear you could possibly conceive was eradicated by the exact opposite, and worry was replaced with an abundance of bliss. I suppose if this were possible you'd be a cartoon sketched or fictitious character from the pages of someone else's wildest imagining.
Life isn't always perfect. We don't always win. We aren't always met with the most favorable circumstances in every situation. But that's what makes life a beautiful experience in and of itself. "Life is a journey of realization, which often ends in that place where dreams never begin".
We must allow ourselves the opportunity to grow through experiences. Otherwise, we'll follow the pattern of an old fools perception, lamenting in future years of how life was too short. In actuality, if more time is spent enjoying the precious moments gifted - including taking the bitter with the sweet - we'll find ourselves more fulfilled through gratefulness.
Don't rob yourself of an amazing journey through life because you're burdened with worrying about the uncontrollable; hoping for the not yet attained; supposing to achieve what will never occur without action; or waiting alas for the magic to happen.
Make the best of what you have. Time elapses second by second whether we acknowledge it or not. Thus, time worthwhile is best measured in those moments spent living.

What can I say about Brussels? Maybe I caught it on a bad day but it is the first European country where I have walked past a woman having a crap in the street (complete with toilet paper, so not caught short).
A warm day in the park, a park which had rubbish a-plenty, very little grass and a dry fountain.
Parts of Belgium are delightful but, based on what I've seen, I'd give Brussels a very wide berth in future.

Starting to run out of the more interesting pictures so returning to picturesque shots. I don't really like conventional photos and, judging by the stats, noone else much does too. So there'll be less of these in future and more weirdness. Pinhole photography has caught my imagination and beckons as soon as I get the time to make something. In the meantime I am experimenting with various "layering" of multiple exposures in the Holga and cross-processing the results.

On European Heritage Day, I visited the Pavilion with the extraordinary sculpture by Jef Lambeaux on the Human Passions. The Pavilion was one of the early works of Victor Horta, one of the greatest Art Nouveau architects.
The building was closed for many years, and we could only get a glance at the sculpture by spying through a peephole. It took a year to renovate it, and the day I visited was the first day it was opened to the public. I had not expected the sculpture to be so impressive, so massive and so thought-provoking.
In future, it will be possible to visit it, by pre-arranged appointment and with a guide. More information on the pavilion and the sculpture here :

Today I learned 3 things:
1) In future I must keep my mouth firmly shut because seemingly innocent things can be misconstrued and used against you
2) You cannot always expect everyone to behave in a thoughtful and honourable way
3) I hate office politics
My lesson is well and truly learnt. A little bit of my innocence was lost today. :-( I am sad and disappointed.

The Finale to the BARC Club Car Championships Weekender at Brands Hatch and after a Very Thrilling set of both Qualifying Sessions and Races which took place on the Saturday it was Time once again for each Driver to strap in and get ready for some high speed Racing Action thought the Sunday.
In Tribute to the Marshall who was Tragically Killed on the Saturday Some Car and Driver Pairings were Racing with Orange Hearts on their Cars as a Tribute to all of Motorsports Family of Marshalls for who without Racing would not be possible. Thank You!

Britcar Endurance Championship - Trophy Category (Race 1 Results FINAL)
The Britcar Endurance Trophy was the First up and it was time to see who could claim that elusive Pole Position and to see if anyone else could challenge the Top Three Drivers Lets see how things turned out.
In First Place was the Pairing Of (Datum Motorsport's Axel Van Nederveen and Adriano Medeiros) in their Ginetta G55A with a Best Lap Time of 52:193 and an Average Speed of 64.75mph. Congratulations Axel and Adriano a Really Fantastic Drive and A Super Victory.
In Second Place was (SVG's Mark Lee) in his Ginetta G56A with a Best Lap Time of 52.086 and an Average Speed of 64.70mph. Amazing Drive Mark Keeping that Ginetta on the Track and Taking Second Place while Nearly Matching the Speed of Axel and Adriano. Well Done.
In Third Place was (Terry Stephens) in his Peugeot 308 with a Best Lap Time of 53.421 and an Average Speed of 64.50mph. Well Fought Terry a Fantastic Finish in Third Place and Staying Ahead by just over 11 seconds to the Pair of Jasver and Bryan in 4th. Amazing Job.
A Really Enjoyable and Exciting First Race of the Sunday with High Speed Action and Incredible Victories on Track. Congratulations Axel Adriano Mark and Terry. Lets see what Race 2 Brings in terms of the Action.

Now it was Time for the Fan Favourite to Enter onto the Brands Hatch Circuit with the Pre 66 Touring Cars Championship. With Mini's Lotus Cortina's and Ford Falcons. This was One Race that No One Wanted to Miss. After a Very Fast Paced Qualifying Session on the Saturday Which saw (Alan Greenhalgh) take Pole Position who Will be able to Challenge Him During the Race and Snatch Victory Away from Him.
In First Place was (Alan Greenhalgh) in his Ford Falcon with A Best Lap Time of 58.707 and an Average Speed of 72.63mph. Congratulations Alan A Beautiful Example of the Ford Falcon and Certainly a Very Fast One too. Congratulations on Your Victory.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship was Up Next and Even Though the Age Range of thease Next Drivers Taking to the Circuit Might Shock you at The Fact that Many of them are as Young as 15 Years of age don't be Fooled Because thease Guys Know how to Race Having been brought up from Carting since the age of 4. They are always a Fan Favourite and After Qualifying on the Saturday its Anyone's Game as to Who Wins and Who Losses in Thease Races.
In First Place was (Ruben Hage) in his Citroen Saxo VTR 1600 with a Best Lap Time of 59.967 and an Average Speed of 65.65mph. Congratulations Ruben What A Drive and an Incredible Run for First Place Fending off the Other On Coming Drivers. Truly a Championship Winning Drive.

Finally it was Time for the Last Two Races of the Day the Kumo BMW Championship. Featuring The Makes and Models of Many BMW'S taking to the Circuit for Race 1. After a Busy Day Qualifying on Saturday Lets See what Each Driver Cando in The Frist of Two Races for their Championship.

Chesapeake Bay Hall, the newest building addition to the William & Mary Batten School of Coastal and Marine Sciences & Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), was officially opened with a dedication ceremony on April 10.
The building will serve as a hub for much of the lab-based science occurring at William & Mary’s Batten School of Coastal & Marine Sciences & VIMS, including shellfish health, fisheries genetics, aquatic diseases, harmful algal blooms, marine contaminants, microplastic pollution, microbiology and plankton ecology.
The three-story, 68,240 square-foot building — adorned with a large map of the Chesapeake Bay on its northern end—features advanced equipment and a modular design allowing for flexibility in future research. In line with W&M’s focus on environmental sustainability, the facility was built to LEED green-building standards.
During the dedication ceremony, welcoming remarks were made by Derek Aday, the Dean of William & Mary Batten School and Director of VIMS. Following his remarks, the William & Mary provost spoke, along with the Rector of the William & Mary Board of Visitors, Sen. Ryan McDougle, and Del. Chad Green.

On August 21, 2014 Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) organized a round table discussion on “India- Africa Cooperation: Role of Regional Economic Communities” providing a platform for Indians and Delegation Representing REC’s of Africa. Amb. Rajiv K. Bhatia, Director General, ICWA gave the opening remarks and stated about the long standing ties of the regions. While addressing the delegation and audience, Amb. Bhatia asserted, “India-Africa Cooperation is doing very well and you will hear about it a lot in future.”

Charity golf outing benefiting High School Basketball Team
The York High Basketball team received support from the annual 1/2 court Hail Mary Charity Golf Tournament held at Briarwood golf course last Saturday. The event aimed to raise money for the team, attracting golf enthusiasts to participate in the good cause. The funds raised will assist the basketball team with essential resources and equipment to enhance their performance in future competitions. It is the 6th year that the fundraiser has been held.
This year I had to make some big life changing decisions, to make those things work, I need to have Drive, Determination and Dedication; something that Milena Sanchez has proven really works. An inspiration to many and I look forward to working with her again in future!

On 18–19 September, Europe’s space industry from start-up companies to large system integrators gathered at ESA–ESTEC in the Netherlands for Industry Space Days 2024.
This is a key event for most companies involved in space in Europe, they gain insights into ESA’s near and long-term activities and procurement needs. Thousands of one-on-one prescheduled meetings between companies will have marked the start of useful business collaborations and increased their chances in future ESA procurements and commercial activities.
An exhibition hall with 170 stands was a valuable way for companies to discover, discuss or showcase technologies and make useful contacts.
There were more than 2000 registered participants representing 1100 companies from 42 countries at ISD 2024. For many of these companies, this event is an essential part of their business strategy.

This is a picture of the keys of an antique player piano. I like how it’s brighter up front and gradually gets darker. I also like the angle of the picture. If you were to continue the lines, you'd reach a vanishing point. The shadows are interesting, yet they seem a bit off. I'd like to improve the lighting. For this picture, I turned off all the lights and used a lamp to angle the light. I will continue to experiment with lighting in future pictures.

In Second Place was (John Davies) in his Austin Mini Cooper S 1293 with a Best Lap Time of 1:11.416 and an Average Speed of 58.38mph. Amazing Work John Racing A Mini in thease Conditions is Very Tricky and Yet both You and Barry made it look Easy.
In Third Place was (James Ibbotson) in his Hillman Imp Super 998 with a Best Lap Time of 1:11.518 and an Average Speed of 58.12mph. Well Done James Sliding that Imp around in the Wet for a Magnificent Third Place was Well Deserved.

In First Place was (Mark Lucock) in his Ford Escort MK1 RS2000 2040 with a Best Lap Time of 57.687 and an Average Speed of 74.53mph. Amazing work there Mark Pushing All the Power the RS2000 Engine Has and Keeping it on Track to Score an Amazing Victory.
In Second Place was (Stephen Primett) in his Ford Escort MK1 2037 with a Best Lap Time of 57.503 and an Average Speed of 74.52mph. Another Brilliant Drive from the Likes of Stephen Keep the Pace with Mark and Making for some Fierce Competition Thought the Race.

The Junior Saloon Car Championship was Up Next and Even Though the Age Range of thease Next Drivers Taking to the Circuit Might Shock you at The Fact that Many of them are as Young as 15 Years of age don't be Fooled Because thease Guys Know how to Race Having been brought up from Carting since the age of 4. They are always a Fan Favourite and After Qualifying on the Saturday its Anyone's Game as to Who Wins and Who Losses in Thease Races.
In First Place was (Ruben Hage) in his Citroen Saxo VTR 1600 with a Best Lap Time of 59.967 and an Average Speed of 65.65mph. Congratulations Ruben What A Drive and an Incredible Run for First Place Fending off the Other On Coming Drivers. Truly a Championship Winning Drive.

Finally it was Time for the Last Two Races of the Day the Kumo BMW Championship. Featuring The Makes and Models of Many BMW'S taking to the Circuit for Race 1. After a Busy Day Qualifying on Saturday Lets See what Each Driver Cando in The Frist of Two Races for their Championship.
In First Place was (Niall Bradley) in his BMW E46 M3 with a Best Lap Time of 50.920 and an Average Speed of 83.60mph. Brilliant Driving There Niall Pushing the Power of the BMW Engine to Max and Putting the Pedal to the Metal the Whole Race. A Superb Victory.
