The completed assembly of 'Yin or Yang' makes a friendly smiling origami modular called "Electra 30" or 'Electra".
It has the structure of an 'origami Icosidodecahedron', that is the underlying structure of 'Electra': every five-sided ring is surrounded by three-sided rings and every three-sided ring by five-sided rings.
This 30-piece version of 'Electra' is probably the best known and most folded modular, designed by David Mitchell.
On his website you will find the diagrams for the improved module to hold them together more firmly, especially during the assembly phase.
The original module is now only used for the 24-piece design.

Fietsbrug Tegenbosch
In order to improve the connection of the busy Anthony Fokkerweg to the A2, the cycle path on the viaduct had to disappear. For cyclists, a new 160-metre-long bicycle bridge was built over the A2 / N2, which is no less than fourteen lanes wide there, not counting the associated emergency lanes and (central) verges.

Weather conditions improved in the late afternoon. This is a northwestward view from a hill that used to be the site for Chichijima's weather station.
The island in the left is Nishijima (西島, western island), while those in the right are Hyoutanjima (瓢箪島 gourd island), Anijima (兄島 older brother island), and Hitomarujima (人丸島).
According the climate data provided by Japan Meteorological Agency, average temperature of the coldest month in Chichijima is 18.5 degree Celsius, which means Chichijima has a tropical climate.
Annual precipitation of Chichijima is 1,296 mm, and the precipitation of the driest month is 51.6 mm, which means Chichijima has the tropical monsoon climate (Am) as compared to the humid subtropical climate (Cfa) in the Izu islands and the main island part of Tokyo.
Chichijima's climate is relatively dry judging from the Japanese standard; annual precipitation of downtown Tokyo is 1,530 mm.

After a pretty exhausting day in the South of Iceland with visits to Seljallandsfoss, Skógafoss and Solheimajökull, we actually wanted to stretch our feet and enjoy the evening in our camper van at the campsite in Vík. On our way, however, we passed the parking lot that is the starting point for the hike to the famous plane wreck at Solheimasandur. Knowing we still had approximately 45 minutes to hike, we looked at the clock and realized we might make it in time for sunset, so we gave it a try.
We grabbed our heavy camera bags and began a hike through seeming nothingness, only passing a small plant here and there growing amidst the black gravel. Some people were already returning to the parking lot and we we through: How can you leave just before sunset? Anyway, we were glad because this meant fewer people will walk into our composition or climb on the plane, which some of the remaining tourists actually did when we finally arrived.
To our surprise, there were very few people left and we still had a couple of minutes left to find some compositions before the sun set. Due to the lack of clouds in the sky, it was clear that the most promising opportunity to improve the image would be a sunstar, so I tried several positionings with this one being my favourite. Even more exhausted, we then walked all the way back and were very happy when we finally arrived at the campsite in Vik pretty late, which was also the reason why we didn’t make it for sunrise at Reynisfjara the next day, but I guess you can’t have it all. Hope you like it! :)

According to local legend, Helfštýn is named after the robber Helfried of Linva, who founded it. The castle was probably built in the last quarter of the 13th century. Around 1320 Vok of Kravař, a member of a prominent Moravian noble family, became the owner of the castle. Helfštýn remained in the possession of the Kravař family for more than a hundred years and underwent far-reaching structural changes during this period. Construction work began on a larger scale in the first half of the 14th century, but the main reconstruction of the castle into a Gothic fortress did not take place until the end of the 14th and the beginning of the 15th century. The Kravařs mainly improved the fortifications of Helfštýn. They replaced the makeshift fortification of the old parkland with a thick stone wall with four bastions, built a prismatic tower over the entrance to the castle itself and secured it with a drawbridge, built a fortified forecourt on the south side and cut the ridge of the hill with a moat carved into the rock.
The era of the Pernštejn family
In 1474, William of Pernštejn took over the castle estate and proceeded to its further reconstruction. In the last quarter of the 15th century,
Helfštýn Castle was enlarged with a thoroughly fortified, extensive farm forecourt (completed in 1480) and another forecourt, which formed a new outpost defending the entire enlarged building. At the same time, the fortifications of the old Kravaře castle were improved with bastions and a new system of towers and gates. The castle's ground plan was definitively given an elongated shape, and in its external form the perfect fortification system significantly overlapped all the other architectural elements.
Renaissance reconstruction
At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, the inner core of the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance residence. The old castle palace was demolished, along with part of its original Gothic fortifications, and a magnificent Renaissance palace was built on the vacant space, in sharp contrast to the extensive system of late Gothic fortifications that surrounded it.
The destruction of the castle
In 1656, quite extensive demolition work was carried out, which, although it did not damage the fortifications of Helfštýn too much, definitively deprived it of the character of a manor house. And thus began the long-term destruction of the castle. The destruction was accelerated in the second half of the 18th century by the Ditrichstein family with demolition works. These attempts culminated in 1817, when part of the inner castle was destroyed by artillery fire.
Present day
The present-day character of the castle is that of a fortress with six gates and a series of 18th-century buildings and ramparts. Since the 19th century, the castle has been presented as a tourist and heritage site. Nowadays it has become a natural cultural centre of the region, with various cultural events taking place here throughout the season
Bravo Lightroom for improving the output shape of a panorama image!! Beautiful sunset from Wellfleet harbor, but the exposure didn't match what I saw - or more accurately what I wanted to see. So this is the enhanced version which I think looks pretty good. I can't improve the sunset, but I can improve my picture of it.
As the sun declined, I discovered these two cup agrions in this face-to-face encounter.
When night falls, these damselflies group together on common or nearby supports, and hide behind them with their long silhouettes when they detect a presence.
Enallagma cyathigerum, the cutting agrion, is a species of odonate insect that belongs to the European damselflies.
Agrions colonise the banks of clear, slow-flowing, well-oxygenated watercourses that receive plenty of sunlight.
The main threat to the agrionid is the modification of its habitat by man (mowing, dredging, water pollution). A National Action Plan for dragonflies was set up in 2010, with the aim of acquiring new knowledge about the ecology of the species in order to improve the protection of its habitat.

After their overnight run from Medley, FL, FEC train 336 switches onto the Cemex City Point lead at CP City Point in Cocoa, FL.
CP City Point was rebuilt from its original configuration a few months prior to this photo. Originally, it was just the single main and the City Point lead with some standard vaders. Now, as you can see, there's a whole new main being built and two tracks that turn west off of the main to head toward Orlando for Brightline.

The shot was taken at Hartlepool while on a week-long Eastern Region Railrover ticket, and features class 37 unit 37160 hauling a rake of COVHOPS, possibly carrying lime destined for the nearby Steetley Works from Thrislington or Coxhoe Quarry.
Above the loco can be seen the floodlights of the Victoria Ground, home of Hartlepool United FC and, to the left of that, is the dog track - now demolished and replaced by a Morrisons food store. The signal box is just visible through the girders of the barn-like structure on the right.
In the brake van the Guard has his coat hung up, and he's no doubt thinking about the imminent arrival and any tasks he needs to perform before signing off.
The station and surroundings were looking pretty uncared for by this time, hardly unusual for the period. Even so, I suspect there would still be a queue to go back and take a few more snaps, should the opportunity ever come up!

Headed north from Natural Bridges N. P. through the Indian Creek Recreational Area on the way to the Needles District of Canyonlands from Natural Bridges N. P.
This photo was captured on the only rainy day of our vacation. We started our day at the Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah. The rain was intermittent but cleared later in the morning and we were even treated to a spectacular rainbow.
Natural Bridges includes three large rock bridges viewable from the roadside but best visited by hiking down into the lower levels of the park. Because it was wet and rainy and the slickrock was, well, slick, we decided to stick to the vicinity of the roadside parking areas and skipped hiking down towards the bridges themselves.
My images of the natural bridges were unremarkable but as the weather conditions improved so did the photo opportunities.
I got this shot parked on the side of the road as the skies started to clear and the magnificent light began to play across the rock face.

For improved visibility on level crossings, NS are fitting the class SNG EMUs with a yellow front. For now, the blue and yellow fronts can be seen together - in this case literally, as the leading unit has the blue front (mostly obscured by the overhead line portal and, of course, the other EMU) and the trailing one is yellow. Excerpt from www.insidehalton.com/news/metrolinx-new-drury-lane-pedest...:
The new Drury Lane pedestrian bridge opened to the public Oct. 31, 2025 after almost eight months of construction and five weeks behind schedule.
Andrea Ernesaks, Metrolinx senior media relations manager, confirmed on Monday, Nov. 3, the new pedestrian bridge connecting Drury Lane to Orpha Court over the railway tracks will stay open. It is safe for use by cyclists and pedestrians, while “minor finishing works will be taking place over the coming months.”
Anticipated work in the area during the next four to five months, according to a notice on the Metrolinx website, includes landscaping and restoration to the construction area.
Metrolinx started the project with demolition of the original 53-year-old bridge on March 7. An original Sept. 26 opening was delayed.
Burlington cycling advisory committee member Corey Finnigan said he rode over the new bridge for the first time Tuesday, Nov. 4.
“The ramps are not as steep as they were and the corners are 90 degrees instead of 180. So overall the bridge is much easier to navigate on a bike or with a stroller or shopping cart,” Finnigan stated in an email.
He said he’s happy he can once again cross the railway at Drury Lane and Orpha Street rather than having to use busier Burlington streets.
Finnigan said he’d assess how slippery the new bridge deck is once some snow and ice is added this winter but “so far, under dry and well-lit conditions, the new bridge is wonderful.”
The Metrolinx website noted a single bridge upgrade may not seem like a big deal, but the crossing provides “a vital connection point” to surrounding neighbourhoods.
“The new and improved structure will not only help residents and customers better access nearby Burlington GO Station and local amenities, but it also provides a crucial link for students who cross the rail corridor every day to get to and from the local elementary school just south of the bridge,” the post stated.
Benefits of the new bridge:
1. Improved pedestrian access and safety across the rail corridor
2. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act compliance
3. Allows for potential electrification infrastructure to be incorporated into the rail corridor in the future

The Painted Hills of Oregon are a part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, which, as the name implies, are home to a variety of fossils.
But finding fossils takes work. That is not the case with the Painted Hills, although you do have to travel for several miles on back-roads. That said, the drive is pretty easy.

In this shot an Eastern Region Rail Rover and an overnight train from London Kings Cross provided for a dawn arrival in Newcastle Central, where first light catches a class 03 shunter at the eastern end of the station ready for the day's action. The Keep, a must-do destination for rail snappers visiting Newcastle back then, stands imposingly in the background.
As ever, exposure was a bit finger in the air with the Zodel F Lightmeter (a 60's vintage hand-me-down from my Dad), but two or three bracketed shots for safety managed to yield a result.
I had a couple of these ERRR's over the years and they provided superb rail photography opportunities for this East Midlander who had rarely ventured further east than Grantham.
This version should go to full-screen quite well. The original has been deleted.

On the far right is the entrance to Oregon's Siuslaw River from the Pacific Ocean. Over 50 years ago I was an ordinary seaman on the hydrographic survey ship Robert Gray which regularly called on this this port and others on the Pacific Northwest coast. On a calm day the waves were (and still are) two to three meters and the channel just wide enough for small ships like the Gray. Today the jetties are much improved and the world's toughest surfers ride in the waves here, even on December days.

On the edge of Kingsmere Lake, Mackenzie King spent almost 50 years (1903 – 1950) improving and expanding his estate, which he bequeathed to all Canadians. From the moment we enter this picturesque estate through wooded paths, we can enjoy the beauty of the Mooreside Main House and gardens where he hosted several important statesmen such as Winston Churchill among others. The spirits lead us to King’s historical ruins:
The Abbey Ruins
The stones from the Abbey Ruins were pieced together from remnants of other buildings, including
- the Canadian Parliament Building destroyed from fire in 1916,
- the crest of a former speaker of the House of Commons at Westminster, England,
- the stones from the printing office owned by King’s maternal grandfather, and
- the temple-like front piece (“Greek temple on a hill” he says) – came from a bay window removed from a Sandy Hill house about to be demolished. His imagination turned the bay window into the Acropolis.
Mackenzie King Estate, Gatineau Park, Québec, Canada

blintzes are a traditionally jewish cuisine that consists of a thin pancake, similar to crepes, that are usually filled with a creamy cheese mixture and pan fried to give a crispy outside. they can be served for breakfast, brunch, or even dessert!
blintzes vs crepes
the main difference is crepes are only cooked once, and served plain, without filings.
blintzes, are always served filled, usually with a cheese mixture, and are cooked twice; once when made, and again after they are filled and pan fried.
crepes vs pancakes
the main difference is that pancake batter has a raising agent in it eg baking powder or baking soda and crepe batter does not
this means that pancakes are thicker and fluffy while crêpes are very thin, lacey and flat
crepes also usually have rich ingredients in the batter such as cream
ingredients

Original title “Working Girl” was inappropriate. Looked back at all my photos that year and asked myself what I liked best, and why. This is the type photo for a core theme—images resolving contradictions. In this case, order and chaos, as the woman cleans the window of a clock shop with a perfectly horizontal squeegee stroke in a sea of bubbles. Love her contemplative expression, and the clutter of urban reflections superimposed on the orderly interior of a Viennese clock seller.
