New blog: I was looking for an affordable action camera and this is it. This camera is everything I would expect it to be.

Just moments before his appearance, I was very letdown and a bit discouraged because I thought I wouldn't be able to capture the Kingfisher. There was only one hour left, so it was now or never.
If the Lincoln Memorial had been built during colonial times perhaps the milky way would have been visible. To be sure it is there every night but with all the light pollution it is entirely invisible today.
I was wondering what it might look like and I have to admit it is kind of colorful. What do you think?
Some of the prizes I won at the Oh My Gacha Fair. OMEN's surrealist ball items were a complete dream! Loved them! The caged hat and apple crown inspired me to create this image.

I knew this shot was impossible before even starting. With a strong wind blowing the plants around, fading light, and deep shadows, it was quite impossible. But then the guy with the dog appeared at the lighthouse and I had to give it a try.
Got an email from Panos with updates to a few of the Actions I have gotten from him.. This one he has fixed so you can put something different on each of the faces of the cube.. I like it... He is doing alright but said they were restricted pretty much as we are with this virus...
For the "Looking close... on Friday!" challenge "telephone"
It takes two systems to keep us connected, a land-line and a mobile. Living in a small rural village in the Howe of the Ythan river means the surrounding hills make mobile connectivity intermittent and often impossible. So the landline (with several handsets) is our main home telephone. But out and about we use our mobiles, invaluable if you get lost, stranded or break down. The AA (Automobile Association) is our emergency back-stop! ;o)

In the harsh, sepia sun of Cherishville Summer, this isn't just a daring mid-air rescue—it's a vow kept. I am Ethan Hunt, pushing the limits not for duty, but for love. The enemy is near, but my gaze is only on her. Suspended by faith and sheer will from a racing biplane, every muscle strains as I reach for the hand of my beloved, stolen away by dark forces. It’s a moment on the precipice of life and death, where the impossible is the only chance we have.

It is almost impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside

"In a Victorian room, crowded with silent clocks, dark tapestries,
and lamps breathing dust,
the ogre tilts his head before a diorama of tiny houses.
He studies them with curiosity and a strange tenderness,
as one might watch another creature’s dream.
“What curious things humans make,” he murmurs,
“building worlds that fit upon a table.”
A dust-moth drifts above the miniature rooftops.
He smiles.
Sometimes, he thinks, humans and ogres aren’t so different after all—
both are only trying to find
a place that feels like home." ️🍂

At the arboretum it's not unusual for the Egret to take off and fly across to the other side of the lake. And yet, it's nearly impossible for me to be able to capture the moment!
During this trip, however, I managed to actually get it in frame just moments before it landed high in a tree at the far end of the lake. Would have preferred to have it flying toward me instead of away, but that reflection makes it worthwhile in my book.

the world is a complicated and imperfect place. it is made of hard edges and compromises. but for a moment, a different set of rules applies. a perfect sphere is created from nothing but soap and air. it is a brief, impossible object, and its only purpose is to exist beautifully before it disappears. the child understands this. it is the first and most important lesson in physics. and in joy.
