Another few water drop shots. I like that there is not a droplet in this one... rather, an air bubble just under the surface where the reverbing drop will come back up. Brought-up the contrast and darkened the picture a bit.

For four or five years I have been looking at this old, long-disused

stage and predicting its collapse in the next windstorm. It still

hasn't happened, though its falling is inexorable. This was earlier

today, when the sun was brilliant and the tide was high. Lots of slob

ice in the coves, and fast ice in the more sheltered coves and

harbours.

The picture was taken in the Fujifilm X100 but cropped a lot; this

represents about 15% of the original image's area. There's some noising of edges and the like, too....

Twenty years ago today the Kingdome was imploded! Joe Derenzo and I set up our tripods at noon the day before and then stood there holding our places until the next morning. This is a still frame from someone else's video my son sent me today.

Thank you to everyone who views, faves, or comments on this collage of fireworks.

Independence Day 2022 was certainly tainted for Illinoisans by yet another mass shooting in Highland Park.

We did not go to our local fireworks because the ground was already saturated with water from fairly heavy morning and late afternoon showers. We figured also that there would be lots of mosquitoes and unvaccinated people in abundance. The collages I made were my way of trying to spread some joy.

I created them on July 3rd, 2022, from photos of past celebrations, when all one had to worry about was getting a good viewing spot.

The FPL power plant at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale was imploded on July 16th to make way for a new power plant that will burn natural gas. To give you an idea of size, the smoke stacks are 350 feet tall.

I over slept that day-I just made it over in time to find a spot and get my camera out. These seven shots are taken with my Ricoh KR-5 hand held and manually advanced.

Minutes before the explosions were set off, I grabbed my wife's camera and walked down to the end of the culesac to shoot this video. The voices are some of my neighbors... my only word was "Whoa!" The sudden, loud series of explosions startled me and I lost aim with the camera momentarily. Despite the noise, I was told that the amount of dynamite used would fit on a coffee table.

From where we were standing, we could only see the top eight stories of this twenty-story building. Built in 1967, Higgins Hall, a 20-story residential hall on the campus of Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, was imploded at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017. FAQs regarding the demolition can be found at www.wiu.edu/student_services/housing/specials/higgins/faq...

Here is another brand new film announced just a few months ago at Photokina 2012.

Adox Color Implosion is a modified color negative film (C41) that can be used from 100 to 400 ISO (without pushing or pulling it) with an unusual color pallet and variable contrast. When shot as a 100 ISO film it is rather muted with color leaning towards blue. When shot as a 400 ISO film it builds contrast and leans towards red. With the off color tones and large grain, prints from this film have a vintage 70's look and feel.
