Rainwater floods a bathroom, eroding the walls while feeding the ferns, inside the Babcock Building at South Carolina State Hospital.

A short historical essay about the Babcock buiilding on my blog.

When you're sad or angry you don't break down and never give up. The storm will end and a ray of sun will come out.

Dust settles on Circus Circus shortly after the Riviera was imploded.

Always bring a dust mask to an implosion. You really don't want to get caught in this.

While I enjoy Flickr too much to leave, I thought it made a good opportunity to sort through old works and decide on discards - that which I've done to get below 1,000.

Right now I've decided to open a second "archival" account and slowly transfer older works in a process. There's no reason to follow that account though it's appreciated, and will keep anyone wanting to continue seeing my work from having to do anything at all. It will still come through as normal.

Thanks for the support over the years, and I hope we can all continue doing this and share in some way!

(note: when it's ready, a link to the archive will exist in the *last* picture on my stream.) (update: I made a tumblr site to pic dump old work @ vgss.tumblr.com)

Another discovery on our Dakota/Montana photo road trip. This one is in South Dakota.

this one's just my idea of an implosion....sucking the color out of life.....perhaps into a Black Hole....I wonder if anything survives it & emerges elsewhere..??

thanks for looking in......much appreciated......best bigger......hope you have a Great Day

This is the first picture I post on Flickr after Yahoo's extreme changes. I'm still in shock and that's why I haven't been a good friend visiting the posts of all my contacts. I'm trying to get used to the new layout and features, but also, I'm still debating whether or not to keep going with Flickr.

In my case the biggest issue hasn't been the changes on layout, pricing or speed; the work I've done trough years organizing my pictures in collections, cameras, themes, film, etc, is literally in the garbage now since collections aren't accessible anymore in a clear and easy way from the main page. You have to know where to look, and it's basically hidden to the casual visitor, just like many other features, like profiles.

It's heartbreaking to see all the work I've done wasted for nothing.

As I said before, I don't know what I'm going to do. Many of my very good friends have moved to ipernity already and I've created an account there in case I decided to finally close my account here. Meanwhile, I'll be hopping a little bit of common sense from Yahoo, to implement the necessary changes.
