China, as the leading promoter of the “one belt, one road” initiative, must take steps to ensure that businesses act responsibly. At the same time, China should implement a well-designed training program that provides officials at all levels of government and entrepreneurs with basic information about operating abroad. And it should do more to spur the involvement of Hong Kong – which possesses major advantages in finance and logistics, information accessibility, talent recruitment, and implementation of the rule of law – in the initiative. Last but not the least, the central government needs to strengthen the guidance of crisis management and exit strategies.
Realizing the “one belt, one road” initiative will not be easy. But China has all of the tools it needs to succeed. As long as it uses them in a way that is clean, green, and transparent, China and its neighbors will reap vast rewards.

· *Se implementaron 16 proyectos de prevención *
A través de la Coordinación General Contra las Adicciones del Municipio de
Querétaro, durante la presente administración se implementaron 16 proyectos
preventivos, beneficiando a 42 mil 672 personas, dio a conocer el
Coordinador General, Aitor Juaristi Mendoza.
Subrayó que el modelo de prevención que se tiene en la Coordinación Contra
las Adicciones, es un programa integral de prevención que abarca
instituciones educativas públicas y privadas, empresas, comercios,
servicios, y atención a familias.
Dijo que el programa proporciona información sobre el tema de adicciones,
como una herramienta para tomar mejores decisiones, formando ciudadanos que
tomen decisiones asertivas y previniendo los factores de riesgo
psicosociales.
En este sentido, resaltó que el modelo de prevención que se implementa en
el Municipio Capitalino, tiene dos premios nacionales, y ha sido
reconocido en todos los congresos internacionales en donde se ha dado a
conocer.
Detalló que mediante pláticas, talleres, concursos y diferentes programas
se impulsan acciones de prevención, destacando que las adicciones son
enfermedades que no sólo afectan a quienes la padecen, “sino que involucran
a la familia y al entorno social, generando una problemática que nos afecta
a todos”.
Entre los programas aplicados, dijo el funcionario municipal, se encuentran
Pláticas de prevención de adiciones para padres de familia y profesores;
Talleres de prevención de adicciones; Las princesas se cuidan ¿y tu?;
Mochila segura; Maratón Preventivo; Rally Preventivo; Cine-debate; Aquí no
se fuma; No te hagas pato, si tomas no manejes; El preventivo luchando
contra las adicciones; preven-arte, entre otros.
“También hicimos un programa donde podíamos cambiar la multa municipal por
una condonación si iban con nosotros a actividades; nos remitieron mil 938
jóvenes, de los cuales acudieron el 56.91 por ciento, más de la mitad que
es un número altísimo para un proyecto piloto. Se beneficiaron a mil 103
jóvenes, y el resto decidió hacer el pago económico de la sanción”,
concluyó Aitor Juaristi.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Sindh chapter has implemented another Clean Drinking Water Project (Submersible Water Pump) at Village Kerti of UC Bhakou, District Tharparkar. Around 28 families are expected to benefit from the project.
Bangladesh Enterprise Institute in partnership with the Asia Foundation implemented a project titled, “Building Capacity of CSOs/NGOs and Media Personnel to Promote Accountability, Transparency in Governance and Influence Elite Opinion” from January 2021 to June 2022. Under this project, ten media personnel and ten members of civil society have received capacity-building training on the utilization of three legal instruments – National Integrity Strategy (NIS), Right to Information Act (RTI), and Annual Performance Agreement (APA) to promote accountability and transparency across communities and institutions.
In line with this, a National Policy Dialogue held on 11 June 2022 at Hotel Lakeshore, Dhaka. Amb. M Humyaun Kabir, President, BEI started off the meeting with welcome remarks. Mr. M. A. Mannan MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Planning was invited as chief guest. Ms. Suraiya Begum, ndc, Information Commissioner, Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Member, BEI Board of Governors & Chairman, Dhaka Bank Limited, Mr. Kazi Faisal Bin Seraj, Country Representative, The Asia Foundation- Bangladesh graced the event as special guests. Among others diplomates, bureaucrats, civil society members and media personnel were present. The guests shared their views on the importance of the policy instruments to ensure accountability and transparency in good governance.
Tharparkar is the most water-scarce district in Pakistan and #Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is striving to improve the situation by the implementation of a variety of projects like hand pumps, submersible water pump and solar-powered water projects in this region. Recently, we have installed a new hand pump in Village Ghat, District Tharparkar. This water project is expected to provide clean water for drinking and domestic usage to almost 20 families living in this village.
