Polio vaccination in POC 3 at UN House. The Ministry of Health has been conducting the 4th (and last) round of its national immunization campaign for 2014, targeting children aged 0 - 5 years. Magna, a local NGO, has been working with the Ministry of Health, with the support of UNICEF and WHO, with the aim of immunizing 300,000 children in Central Equatoria State, and 2.4 million children nation-wide, in the seven states not affected by conflict.
In Jan 2011 the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI) and its partners are rolling out a new vaccine to prevent pneumonia in Kenya. In the developing world, pneumonia kills in the neighborhood of 1.4 million kids every year. Pneumococcal, the deadliest strain of that illness (and a major cause of what we might call “regular” pneumonia), kills 800,000.
Kenya's pneumococcal vaccine's official launch date is Feb 14, but we were able to photograph a clinic near the Kibera slum in Nairobi that already started providing the vaccine this week.
This health center is the Langata (sometimes called Kibera) District’s regional distribution center for the 36 clinics within the district. They collect all of the vaccines from the Regional Disbursement Center and, since they must maintain the cold chain to ensure the efficacy and safety of the vaccine, haul them back to Langata in well-used, white Styrofoam coolers. There, they are stored in an upright, avocado green refrigerator. But, it works and that’s what counts. They are then divided up and dispersed to the 27 clinics in the District that have trained personnel to give the vaccines.

Get vaccinated!” Vaccines are weakened or killed pathogens that help your immune system fight diseases. Vaccines do not make you sick, but prepare your body to fight off disease when exposed to full strength pathogens in the future. Making health facilities accessible to poor families in rural areas and ensuring universal access to quality healthcare can help bring down the graph of infant and maternal mortality in India. The high burden of infant deaths in India can be attributed to easily preventable birth complications, infections, and preterm births. Big FM in partnership with UNICEF India has started working on awareness creation on Immunization. Radio Jockey Vikas Kaushik visited Mewat district in Haryana on 9th September and spoke to various functionaries. Rajni Yadram is a dedicated ASHA worker (Accredited Social Health Activist). She visits the community and maintain a record for immunisation, antenatal screening and encourages expected mothers for prenatal diagnosis at the health centre.

The Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic hosted a mass immunization clinic at the APG North (Aberdeen) Recreation Center, Jan. 14. The clinic was open to eligible APG personnel, to include servicemembers, civilian and contractor employees, spouses and families. During the clinic, the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots were available for participants. The clinic also offered the Influenza vaccine. Although we do not provide health services, we note the number of immunizations administered in the province. According to data supplied by the Mozambique Ministry of Health, in Cabo Delgado province in 2005, over 58,000 children were fully immunized by their first birthday, with vaccines delivered by VillageReach. This is a 36% increase over the number of children immunized in 1997, before we began serving the province.

Year 2005 Star of Hope ambulance started its services in Santos, Brazil.
The main objective is to offer basic health care among children at nursery schools in the slum areas in Santos. All the children in the program receives immunization and will meet health care proffessionals on regular basis.
