Riccy Enriquez Perdomo was released from county jail, after being arrested Aug. 17. Enriquez, had been granted legal status two times through DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) but was arrested at an immigration office in Louisville. She had gone there to post bond for another immigrant being held who was eligible for release.

Washington DC, June 18, 2022. Thousands of people from all over America gathered near the Capitol. Lead by Reverend Barber, The Poor People's Campaign Moral Revival echoes the Poor People's Campaign of the '60's lead by Dr. Martin Luther King. The movement grew out of Barber's Moral Monday Marches in North Carolina. It's a big tent movement taking on many human rights and justice issues: poverty, health care, voter suppression, the environment, racism, living wage, labor unions, immigration, mass incarceration, militarism.
On October 8th, hundreds paticipated the March for Immigrant Dignity and Respect" on the National Mall; in front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC. 200 were arrested including some US Congress Members, CWA Members, Allies and Activists.

This lady popped up about ten feet away from where I was standing. A crowd formed and some young people had some nice words to say, as the crowd behind them chanted passionately. At one point the lady put her signs down.

On February 18, 2015 the library sponsored a session as part of its Currents series to help local residents learn what President Obama’s recent executive action means directly from immigration attorneys who answered questions and provided information to individuals and families about possible adjustments to their status. Individual help was be available at the end of the session and many in attendance were also able to be processed for a community ID card.
