A year ago I made a little Processing script to average sets of photos (examples one, two, and three), and a few weeks before that I started a photo-a-day project, where I was careful to get as close to the same angle as possible. It didn’t take much thought to combine those two projects. Anyway, this is the result averaging a year of self portraits.
I’ve got a few more ideas for things to give the ol’ averaging treatment to, so we’ll see where this projects picks up a bit later down the line.
I am still keeping with the photo-a-day project, so maybe next year (same Bat-time same Bat-channel) we’ll get to see year one vs year two comparison and a two year average.

Does this place exist! Please view large! The previous version of this image Here I felt was too symmetrical! (go figure!) and would benefit from some foreground.
I flipped the image vertically this time to mirror it below itself and pasted the images onto a larger canvas. Re cropped for composition, I then decided to go for a reflected on water look. Played with a few filters in layers on the selected "Water" Then darkened to look deeper.
These were my first real attempts at anything other than your normal photographic tweaks. Thanks to the creators of the Gimp!

playing with the amazing circle action in Photoshop, on my red-pink kalanchoe, again.
I began with 4 bracketed exposures of the plant image, merged into a High Dynamic Range 32bit depth image, then reduced it, along the way, to finally 8bit after applying most of the manipulations and tweaks at 16bit depth.
HDR is a function of Photoshop CS2, and retains image detail across a much broader range of brightness than cameras and monitors can ever display in accurate relationships, but gives lots of room to use the details in an otherwise limited image.

I Am using the basic wondrous polar coordinates transformations as beautiful in and of themselves, but also as starting points for grounding them in their origins and/or creating new relationships for them.

But I couldnt just photo an egg could I.
I've tried to capture a cut and paste feel here with the uneven edges and used a grainy high contrast to make it a bit kitsch. Think california, icecream adverts, bikinis and pool parties!

using three exposures 1 f/stop apart. Those three files were merged in Photoshop using CS2's HDR feature.
Another, albeit more a playful version, character headshot of / for my cousin, Frank, who is always auditioning for new film roles. He likes to use the audition 'sides' to tailor a character headshot for the audition, contrary to the usual advice, which is to submit a straightforward headshot of the Actor.. not the CharActor. ;-)
I asked the Dr. Phil question, and he said he can't Tell if it works or not, since the actor already wins some and loses some.. how would you know if the headshot helped OR hurt?
This version, however, was just to satisfy My urge "to Photoshop" (yes.. it's Got to be a new verb, by now).
I believe this is an Akbash breed of dog. He and the poppies and surroundings are all real, but there was a fence between him and me, and I tried to smudge it and diminish it by using an oil paint 2 program on ArcSoft2 photo program.
