Another first for me and my comps. I have always used real people in my composites, be they integrated into real backgrounds or virtual sets that are created in the computer.
I did once use a virtual tiger as my main subject. So I thought I'd give a 'virtual human' subject a go and then composite the elements together in the usual fashion and add the finishing touches like lights and bullet strikes.
A shot of Chris from the Bonneville Barons in 'good ol' boy' mode. I guess he should really have a banjo - but this is his main instrument. And yes, the chair is an authentic green plastic piece of crap from the 80's - sorry. Wanted a nice old wooden one.

Like the previous Sarah-Jane shoot this stuff is shot against a grey background and composited them into the scene incorporating various photoshop techniques to enhance contrast and the 'dodge and burn' look.

Who knows how it came to pass that you find yourself stuck in the middle of a field, sitting on a steamer trunk next to a rusting pickup truck!! This is like a Rorschach test. Read into it what you will :)

Found a new free editing suite online and this was my first creation using the plate in the previous image. Encouraged by my previous abstract images in albums I was browsing the other day.

I Am using the basic wondrous polar coordinates transformations as beautiful in and of themselves, but also as starting points for grounding them in their origins and/or creating new relationships for them.
I usually wait a while before a revisit to an image - but this one needed some attention straight away. I've made more of the light falling on his arm and behind him and now it 'feels' better.

For those of you on my side of the pond - I've been watching 'Ripper Street' on BBC. I had this image of a grimy backstreet with a young lady looking out of place in it. The deeply delicious Susan Coffey came to my rescue again... :)
If anyone knows what that evil looking device she's holding is - let me know. I suspect Jack the Ripper would think twice about tangling with anyone wielding that!
The lovely Susan Coffey has very kindly contacted me and asked if it was ok to post my comp on her DeviantArt page (like I would refuse lol!). Lots of great comments. A few comments query the weapon, thinking it looks out of place. Well, thinking about it, perhaps Jack the Ripper was actually 'Jill' :)

With the wind howling outside and the rain pouring down at the moment, it seemed right to reflect on the onset of Autumn. Unfortunately, here in the UK, our Autumns are generally wet, miserable and windy. As soon as the leaves turn a lovely red/brown on the trees, the storms arrive and bingo! - all the leaves are on the ground.

A distraught wife waits at the docks for news, from returning ships, of a husband missing at sea.
With a medieval dock and warship models to play with as 3D models - I combined one of Jessica's lovely poses with this DS6 rendered scene and added sky, sea and birds.
This one, with the subject's strong lighting, has a nice painterly feel somehow. A current fave :)

By seeing many events taking place, and the world obviously against Israel together with the great advocacy to crash Israel, divide God's covenant land ( Daniel 9) , we know this is the timeline. Then we see Syria ravaged , whilst the Isaiah 19 speak of the total destruction of Damascus , then this should be on the way , distress of nations ( Matthew 24 ) , plagues , people's mindset just like the days of Noah , don't need to elaborate this further, just looks around --- these are all Biblical prophecies in our face. Praise God, I have woken up in 2011 and back in the Lord .

My wife was watching some episodes of season 2 of Game of Thrones while I was working yesterday and now the phrase 'mother of dragons' has stuck in my head and gave me an idea.
So with that in mind... I've done a previous image with a 'bad dragon'. I wanted to even it out with a 'good dragon'. I was curious who was giving the gift to whom. What do you think?
The lovely Kayla-Jane was shot against grey so I could composite her, the rendered dragon, the backdrop and all the foreground elements together. I now have 3D models of grass and trees so I can create foreground elements on transparent layers that make the compositing process so much easier.

I have wanted, for a little while, to do an image based around fighting a dragon from horseback. Typically, I did one version using these characters and then tried another idea using the same rendered images. I like both so I thought 'what the hell', I'll put them both up.
This is actually the second version I created. Decided to keep it quite simple with some dramatic lighting. The other version (the forest version, which has a whole different feel to it) will follow soon :)

I enjoyed finding little 'relationships' among my calla lilies this summer.. I revisited this one while archiving and deleting, and decided to go a little softer than I have been lately, and to let it have a little more traditional photographic look.
I was reading a story on Toronto's Michael Reichman, who, upon hearing a remark about how his work didn't "look like photography", responded that they Do look like photography looks Now.. they didn't look like photography Used to look...
and while I'm not at all proposing any sort of rollback, I had the thought in mind as I opened this one for another look. The smooth softly lit tonality of the foreground blossom seemed to call for a more traditional photographic look, while I went more contemporary, perhaps, with the second blossom and background tone/colors.
Or maybe I'm just making it up that way when I talk to myself, here... lol.
