Hmm. Guns and rubber again. Plus a flippin' big tank (an M1 Abrams I believe) rendered using Poser Pro 2012.

Thank you Jessica at Faestock
Needed to keep my hand in. It's been a little while since my last comp :)

Model by Tigersgirl. The very lovely Kayla Jane.
You can view a before and after comparison HERE
Following on from the 'Unexpected Alliance' images. All her zombie comrades have fallen by the wayside, but our heroine soldiers on.
The model was shot against a dark grey background so it meant I could composite her into this rendered scene created in Daz Studio. Lots of blends, brushes and dodging and burning later... voila! I feel there's some climactic moment just ahead! :)
Model Stock is mine, maybe I'll share it someday. Watch my stock account on DA to get notifications deathbycanon-stock

Here I'm again playing around with the technique that Joe Grossinger, the Bird Man of El Paso turned me on to (he got the idea from icon_st ). Here's how it's done, though in this case, using a layer mask, I brushed away the effect from the bee.
In Photoshop:
1. Duplicate the layer
2. Goto Image->Adjustments->Invert (Basically do Negative)
3. Make sure the negative layer is selected and choose "color" blending option from the combo box just above that layer.
That's It !!
If you're using Photoshop Elements, as I was, step 2 would be filter->adjustments->invert

I think this is probably Sin City meets Film Noir :) I wanted quite a sickly colour to this one - hence the green cast. The building in the background is an old brewery.
My model Sarah-Jane is shot against a neutral grey background and composited into the scene.
All backgrounds are themselves composites of various elements to create a 'hopefully' dramatic theatrical quality.

I lost track of time, but over 3 days, this one took somewhere between 12 & 15 hours.
Brush strokes & texture more easily seen when viewed in LARGER SIZE.

A steampunk/victorian evil-genius mastermind unveils a steam-powered drone called 'Big Liz'.
Just as well it was raining all day when I created this one as it took quite a bit of time to put together. Including an abort and a re-tune partway through.
The laboratory took an hour to render out in Daz Studio. Thankfully the zeppelin was a 30 second render. Found some chains, block and tackle and rope and then, about 4 hours later, this was the final result.

I've been very busy on the day job and have been away from my beloved comps for a while...
...but I'm a sucker for a cute doggie and Jessica at Faestock came to the rescue with 'Ember' and I just had to do a quick comp. I wonder if the faux differential focus is a bit over the top... but hey, this is a complete fabrication anyway so what the hell :)
Unfortunately I've had to crop their feet off as they didn't quite sit on the same plane as the railway line. It's a bit of a cheat, but it's hopefully not quite so obvious now.
The background is a handheld 3 shot HDR taken in Kingswear opposite Dartmouth.
Done in Corel Painter IX.5
Corel Paint Shop Pro X used to add signature.

How to look good when the apocalypse comes. Just make sure you have your black catsuit to hand, a few evil-looking knives, some extremely kinky boots and the ability to strike a pose that says: "you mess with me at your peril" - oh, and a tank, just to be on the safe side :)
The 2 model images were combined into one shot on a grey background before compositing them into the CG created background with the tank, lighting effects and smoke and flames added for the final effect.

Gracias!!!!!!
Following firmly in the footsteps of the previous upload :)
Once again all the major 'look' was provided by Nik Software's 'Color Efex Pro 4'. The 'extract detail' option is a winner for me!
I am now under instruction from the wife to do something a little softer and more feminine.

153/365. Where socks come to die. But they don't die together in pairs... this is where individual socks come to die, leaving their significant other behind to a lonely life in the bottom of a drawer.
Our washing machine was hungry for some individual socks today.

Back on familiar territory with the guns and rubber again. Our heroine strikes a pose flanked by a couple of terminators. You do not want to mess with these guys. Particularly on such a miserable rainy night :)

The zombies are back and this time they're on our side!
Model by Tigersgirl
Zombies and environment rendered in 3D and output as PNG files and all composited in photoshop.
Zombies always get a bad rap. How about a time when they work on the side of good rather than evil? I have to admit to having to hold myself back from actually posing one of the zombies doing 'jazz hands' just for a giggle.
Maybe I still might ;)
UPDATE - for those of you who liked the idea of a zombie doing 'jazz hands' visit my Facebook page to have a look. If you fancy liking my main page as well, that would be cool.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Click HERE
Not having access to a local sanatorium :) - the background was rendered using Daz Studio and everything was composited in the usual way.
I have no idea what it all means. I was just in a darker frame of mind.
I have just posted a brief (and I do mean 'brief') making-of video for this image on my Facebook page. It is just a few images that show the process from start to finish. If there is enough interest in these - I may do some more in-depth versions of some of my more complex creations. If you happen to pop over there and 'like' my page, then that's cool. Thank you.

An homage to the WW2 land army girls. The truck is a 40's chevy I know, but I had to use it because it looked so cool.

A bit of a twist on the Robin Hood myth. This is Robyn and the dragon is called Little John.
Model by Marcus Ranum
Dragon by Daz Studio. All the elements were then composited in Photoshop.
Both shots of the moon and Mount Baker were taken the same night, then merged to create this composition. It was almost a full moon.
Source: Creative Commons: US Library of Congress, Horseback Riding -- Central Park ??
I'm not sure why the USLC put those two question marks after the title of this photo. I have no doubt that this is New York City's Central Park. If you look at the right margin you will see that the words "central park" have been scratched into the negative. The horses, riding gear, and provenance all combine to place it around 1910. The bridge behind them carries West 72nd Street across the path where it becomes Terrace Drive as it meanders through the park, and then emerges on the other side as East 72nd. The elms, alas, are gone. The building in the background is recognizably the Dakota, with its signature railing along the top floor. At the Dakota, three quarters of a century later, John Lennon will be murdered. Behind that bridge there is now a 2.5 acre memorial to Lennon, which the City Council has named Strawberry Fields in his honor. It is officially designated as a "Quiet Zone" within the park, which leaves me wondering if anyone on the City Council ever listened to the Beatles.
