I may have mentioned that I've been rereading old photo magazines since I haven't been able to get current ones.
I'm rereading the October 2017 issue of Shutterbug and came across a two page piece in which Harold Davis is interviewed regarding his iPhone photography and editing.
At that time in 2017 I wasn't yet aware of Harold Davis. Thanks to being informed of him by Elisa Lidell, I now have a couple of his photo editing books.
Anyway, It was interesting to see this article in which he mentioned a couple iPhone photo editing apps.
There I was at midnight downloading apps and trying them out.
You've no doubt realized by now that I read in bed to get sleepy enough to fall asleep...
First I used the phone to screen grab my 'pastel clouds over the volcanos at sunset 12May20.' I had uploaded it to Flickr yesterday.
Then I brought it into one of the apps he recommended, appropriately named Waterlogue which has presets that render an image into a watercolor. I did that several times with varying presets.
He had also mentioned an app named 'ImageBlender' and I was again pleased that in the three years since that article, it too was still available at the app store.
I blended the original screen grab of 'pastel clouds... 12May20' with one of the renderings from Waterlogue. Actually I did that a couple times with different renderings.
Then I brought those results into Photoshop as layers and masked so that the parts I liked of each show.
And this is that result.

This pano was taken from my yard; there were four iPhone images that were stitched together in the AutpStitch app. I then used iColorama to produce several different versions of the image that were then blended in ImageBlender.

The texture reminded me of a sadness that only a woman knows, the kind of sadness that we keep to ourselves and seldom share. It reminded me of the tears that we sometimes hold back until no one is watching. Tears that are ours, and ours alone.
An old image revisited with the distressedfx app on the phone. Really enjoying the app it's a lot of fun.
