This shot is pretty much the result of Hipstamatic. The only other apps involved were ImageBlender, which allowed some tweeking of tones, and TouchRetouch which was used to remove unwanted details. This was shot in the runoff area of the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. This is immediately after sunrise on a very foggy morning. Yellowstone provides many opportunities for atmospheric pics, with fog, mists, and clouds. These conditions tend to compliment the minimalist technique most often used in my pics. The fog and mists especially allow for the isolation of subject matter.

When the Stranger Comes to Town - iPhone art by Mandolina Moon.
Facetune, PixRepix, ScratchCam, ImageBlender, Juxtaposer, Snapseed
Used Facetune to elongate the figure. Blender and Juxtaposer to add and mask layers. One layer of old peeling billboard and one layer for the addition of the hat. PixRepix for painterly drips, ScratchCam for scratches and patina, Snapseed for fine tuning.
I used a macro shot I took of the three brushed metal hands of my favourite wall clock (full clock in the first comment field). It was shot from directly above, and made me think of the nose cone and wings of a WWII plane, or a maybe a satellite in orbit. So I played around with the image to see what I could come up with. Hope you like the result.
My husband tells me that "Bandits at 2 o'clock!" is the kind of warning of an incoming attack that could have been shouted by a pilot during a 'dog fight' - at least in WWII films ;o)

The first thing I did after taking this picture was removing the fence wire with Retouch (great app). After that I proceeded it in PaintCan to make the colored background. Than I made a black and white version of the original photo (without the fence wire) in Snapseed. This b&w version was proceeded in ToonCamera first and in Glaze next. The Glaze result and the colored background from PaintCan were blended in ImageBlender. The result is what you see.
