Wigglebutt Duncan is a 4-year-old Tibetan Terrier. “Every part of him, including his belly, is special to me because he was my inspiration to start a business whose mission is to give back to animal rescues and charities,” says Sue, his dog mom. “He is at his funniest when he is flat-out exhausted, can't move and belly exposed. This photo was taken after a three-hour hike in the mountains of Colorado. Being like most males, he does indeed want possession of the remote!”

Cheri is a 12-year-old Rat Terrier-Jack Russell Terrier mix.
“Cheri may be a senior, but she loves to jog with me in the mornings and gladly takes all the cuddling afterward as her reward,” says Marissa, her dog mom.
“What I love mostly about Cheri is her ability to jump high like a circus dog when she gets excited to go outside or play with her bone,” Marissa says. “I also love that Cheri tears through her toys, in just one minute tops, to get to the squeaker. She always has her eye on the prize!”

Shasta is named after a camping trip her family took to Mt. Shasta. “She loves the mountains and hiking with us,” Carol, her dog mom, said. “On this day we were hiking on a warm day, and the sun on her black coat got pretty warm. We stopped in a shady spot to cool off and have lunch. She never stepped out of the creek the entire time we ate. You can tell by the intensity in her gaze that she was watching food!”
Forrest, a Boxer mix who was about 10 weeks old when this photo was taken, is now 10 months old. “While taking our newly adopted kitty into the vet for a check-up, this little guy was sitting behind the counter, looking for a forever home,” says RT, his pet parent. Forrest’s previous owners had hit him with their car but didn't want to pay to have him treated, so the vet’s staff took him in.
“We had recently lost our 17-year-old dog and weren't looking for a new puppy. But all it took was one puppy kiss to my nose and I knew we needed to adopt him and take him home! Of course with those legs, we had to name him Forrest!” The pup has recovered from his injuries and is now healthy and playful. “He never let those casts get in his way of showing his affection!” RJ says
Finnegan, a 6-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, came to live with his pet parents when he was barely 2 years old, after being with two previous owners. "Finnegan was not socialized appropriately with other dogs and couldn't walk on a leash," says his dog mom, Nancy. "He has gone through training and is now super! He's a big lover boy who goes first to daddy for some hugs and kisses every night, then to mommy. He is also very sensitive and watches out for our other dogs. We can't imagine life without him!"
Gypsy is a 6-year-old rescued Pit Bull. “My son went to the shelter just to take a look the day before she was scheduled to be put to sleep, and he was hooked immediately!” says her dog mom. “Gypsy got along well with my son's Pit-Boxer mix, so there was no hesitation – she went home with him! She stole my heart the moment I laid eyes on her. A few months later, she was my Mother's Day gift! She has beautiful eyes that speak volumes. When she sits between my feet and looks up at me, I can see the love in those gorgeous brown eyes. My response is always, ‘I love you too, baby girl.’”
Buko is a 4-year-old Miniature Schnauzer who was adopted three years ago from a family no longer able to handle his rambunctious personality, says his dog mom, Margarita. “Buko always has his right ear up to listen for visitors or to hear when the treat jar is being opened. His favorite hangout is at the foot of the bed, conveniently in front of our feet, where he can sneak belly rubs. When dawn breaks every morning, Buko burrows his head under my arm to cover his eyes from the rising sun and catch a few more minutes of sleep. He definitely takes after his mommy!”
George was rescued from a shelter by Kristin on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. “He was so tiny and so sick, nobody had even really given him a look. From the moment I brought him home, he was part of us, completely,” Kristin says. Six months later, the 9-month-old pup had a growth spurt and couldn’t put weight on his back legs. He had a bilateral MPL repair “with pins and screws and wires and everything.” Kristin said her favorite thing about George is that “even in pain, all he ever wants is to give all of his love away and be a silly, happy dog. He is now completely happy and is getting back to just being a puppy with no worries, running fast and free at the dog park every night with his sister and his best friends.”

Thurston, a 5-year-old Pit Bull-German Shepherd (maybe) mix, had to wear a cone of shame because of a hot spot on his face. “The vet had to shave the fur off of the side of his face, and we had to put ointment on it every day for a couple weeks,” says Karin, his dog mom. “He was so sad!” She says Thurston “’helps’ me in the kitchen, while pulling weeds in the yard, and even waits patiently for me while I'm showering. My favorite thing about Thurston though, is our weekend morning cuddles.“
Wiley, a Labradoodle, is a country dog. “He was born in a barn and he still loves the farm life, even if he lives in the suburbs,” says Kristy, his dog mom. “He loves climbing on rocks and piles of dirt or straw. He and his big sister, Wheaty, go for hikes together, and he even learned how to swim this year. Now neither of them can resist running straight for water as soon as they hear it.”
Super Chili Pepper Bling Bling was adopted nine years ago from Illinois Doberman Rescue by her dog mom, Mercedes. Chili Pepper was “only 40 pounds, skinny, full of dandruff and scared,” Mercedes recalls. “She was not sure why I kept crying.” Chili Pepper was doing very well until last year, when she had a spinal cord operation and the vet told her pet parents she might not walk again. “But Chili was a fighter,” Mercedes says. After rehabilitation therapy, “Chili Pepper is now happy living at her home and enjoying her yard and her mom and dad.”
Sammie Star, a rescue puppy, was 3 months old when this photo was taken of her sleeping in her favorite position, according to Angela, her dog mom.
“Sammie is a very special girl to me,” Angela says. “She loves to sleep on her back and show off the spots on her belly. She loves her belly rubbed and loves to play with her other rescue brother and sister.”
