First of all, sorry for the appalling title of this shot, but it made me giggle when I typed it! :)
Now, do you remember the little lettuce seedling I posted a picture of last month? It's in the comment section if you don't! Well this is the same lettuce sporting its lovely red livery!
I think I'm getting overly excited about it being ready for eating in a couple of weeks time!
Yum! :)

The final Project 52 group theme for Week 52 is The End.
Our lunar companion is something that I have been meaning to shoot for the last couple of years! It was on my list of subjects to shoot for last year's project 365, but never made it, so I was determined to incorporate it into this year's 52 week project!
So, this is my interpretation of the theme this week!
I got it in The End! :)
Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support during this year's project! I've thoroughly enjoyed taking each and every photograph and sharing them with you, as well as viewing your work and being in awe of your amazing amount of talent!
I look forward to you joining me again for another trip into the 52 week world of photos next year!
My insect buddies are finally coming out to play, albeit only for a short time each day!
After hunting for about an hour this morning, I finally found this little guy hiding inside a spirea bush!
I managed to get off a few decent shots before he hid himself deeper in the bush...

I'm still not feeling well, and have figured out it's because my cellulitis has returned. I haven't had it for a while, and had forgotten how exhausted it makes you feel!
So, here's a picture of a pussycat, for no other reason than I like pussycats! :)
My commenting may be a bit hit and miss until my condition improves...

I've been busy putting together an Etsy shop over the past few days, to sell my photo greetings cards! If you'd like to take a look you can find it here!

I was in the garden shooting pictures of some young blue tits that have just fledged this morning, when this bold little magpie dropped into the garden from nowhere!
He took a confident walk around the bird feeders, pecked at a few of the pieces of bread that had fallen to the floor, took a drink from the pond, then stood watching me, watching him!
Then as soon as he'd arrived, he was gone!
It was a lovely encounter, and I was pleased I managed to get this close-up portrait of him!
If you look carefully, you can see my house reflected in his eye!

I've been trying to take a decent picture of this creeping jenny plant every day for the past month!
I wasn't happy with any of the shots I took - until today!
Sorry for posting and running yet again, and thank you all for taking the time to comment on my photos! Work has been keeping me extremely busy, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel, as I have tomorrow off, and should get around to visiting everyone! :)
Now, back to work...

I'm not sure what these tiny blue flowers are, but they're the only things in bloom in my garden at the moment - so they're probably weeds!

I'm having problems with my flashguns at the moment - they need their batteries recharging too often!
I've been using them relentlessly today while tweaking my splash shot rig!
So, here's a longhorn beetle from last summer to tide you over until my batteries recharge, and I can bring you today's splash shot! :)
I didn't think I was going to be able to shoot an insect for my monthly theme today - and yes I know a spider isn't an insect, but I've given them special dispensation!
I actually took this photo whilst it was raining quite heavily, as I didn't have much time to get my picture of the day done!
I think this is a False Widow spider, which apparently isn't as dangerous as its cousin, the Black Widow, but can still give you a nasty bite!
Not wanting to test the theory, I took a quick snap, and retreated to let her finish her lunch! :)

A small fly enjoys the colourful stamen of a dahlia...
...and completes my month of Insects! A mosaic will follow...
Sorry for posting and running, I'm not feeling very well at the moment! I'll hopefully be able to catch up with everyone before the end of the weekend! :)

This is a large cabbage white butterfly feeding from a butterfly bush!
But to change the subject...
I've had some stubborn sensor dust bunnies attached to my sensor for a couple of months now, and my Arctic Butterfly cleaning gadget wouldn't budge them! So, last night I wet cleaned my sensor for the first time!
I don't know why, but it was a really nerve wracking experience, and although I did a couple of test shots to make sure everything was working okay after cleaning, I was really nervous about downloading my shots from today!
As it turned out, all was well! I appear to have pushed around some dust from one area of the sensor to another, but other than that, the sensor is a whole lot cleaner!
I'm going to give it another go tonight to see if I can get the whole surface clean! Wish me luck! :)

I have to say that I find this camera incredible!
Despite it being a dark and dismal day yesterday, I decided that I was going to try and photograph a few of my garden bird visitors!
I switched on the auto ISO feature of the camera, and waited for my friendly robin to appear - which it duly did at the base of my garden wall, which was in near darkness!
However, the camera selected ISO-6400, auto-focussed with no problem at all, and produced this almost noise free image!
There is quite a large crop here, and you can see the tremendous amount of detail that has been captured!
I'm very impressed - and pleased with my new purchase! :)
I can't wait for better weather and light!
Flowers for Friday - there was still some colour, other than autumn leaves, at Exbury Gardens!
These are a small collection of pink nerine blooms - a lovely flower I'd not come across before!
HFF! :)

I had a trip to Jessops this morning - to take a look at the Nikon D600.
The salesman was really good and let me use my own memory card, so I could take the images away and analyse them!
This is one of the shots I took in the shop, handheld, at ISO 2000! The camera has managed to capture all of the gaudy colours of the shop display very well! Quite impressive I thought!
I really liked how the camera felt in my hand, and can see one being my photographic partner for the next few years!
How I didn't walk out of the shop with the camera in my hand is a complete mystery! My will power must be getting stronger as I get older! :)
I love how meerkats hang their legs in front of them when they're on the alert!
