Practicing with the ring light. Kinda difficult when one wears glasses. Taken with and edited on my iPhone via Lightroom Mobile

From 1922.

A popular model of camera used for many famous silent films. Apparently it made too much noise to be used for talkies and so fell out of popularity in that era.

I got up early, hoping to get to get to the Stanford Ave trailhead before the parking lot filled. I got there shortly after 7am but it was naive to think that was early enough to beat the crowd. I ended up parking on the street 0.5 miles from the trailhead. So my hike was a mile longer than it would have been. Next time 6:30am?

Pilgrims say prayers in front of various relics from saints - pieces of bone, hair, clothing in the middle of each crucifix - that are all set on an altar in the minor basilica of the Santo Niño in Cebu, Philippines.

Our Daily Challenge: Paradise by Dashboard Light

This is about interesting sources of light. The light can illuminate your subject or be the actual subject of your image. Think lava lamps, car lights, neon signs, elevator buttons, refrigerator lights, or any other light source you can find and...have fun!

Thank you so much for your views, comments and favs. I really do appreciate every one!

Our schedule lined up well for eating lunch in the vicinity of Laramie. With a not too long day ahead, we decided to get off the interstate and head into downtown for a slower-than-fast-food lunch. (The nice thing about a small city in Wyoming is that "getting off the interstate to go downtown" is not that much of a burden.) We had eaten lunch here 3 years earlier (3 years and 2 days to be exact) on our way to the eclipse. We had hamburgers at a restaurant called The Crowbar that were so memorably good that we decided to go back. The city has set up tables in a public space near where this photo was taken to encourage people to pick up orders downtown by giving them a place to eat outdoors. The burgers were as good as I remembered.

I drove to Hawthorn (1 hr 25mins away) so that Steve could have a fresh change of clothes since he’s working crazy hours and can’t always make it home. We stayed the night in a Best Western and it was decent.

What wasn’t decent was the screaming headache I had this morning along with the bloody nose from hell. This one was bad. I hung my head over the sink and felt like it dropped huge drips for forever. All good now though.

Spent the day in Manhattan and Redondo Beach.
