I rang a speed test on the vodafone 3g network in Sydney CBD before and after updating to IOS5. As you can see the results show the speed going down slightly, but this is marginal and the tests were done a day apart.

Testing performed with the app version of speedtest.net/

The iphone 4s. not a lot of changes physically, only this time is a world phone, and with dual core A5 processor and 8mpixel cam. more in the OS behind which is ios5 and the voice recognition ai name SIRI.

C'mon folks... these guys & gals go to university to learn to write at the 5th grade level? So what should we expect? Child labor is illegal, you know - unless you're in China, India, Iraq, Iran, Egypt or some other similarly conservative nation.

The frozen progress bar. Took a couple days to finally get iOS 5 installed on my iPhone 4. I'm sure their servers were overloaded from everyone trying to download on release day. Hey, we just couldn't wait!

Excellent color reproduction of the yellow leaves, especially considering it was very overcast.

It's not beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It's beginning to look a lot like Spring! But I must say, that the lovely white petals on the ground only slightly resemble snow.

This is fun. Big download though at around 100 Mb (though considerably less than iOS5 it has to be said)

Both iphone3gs were running IOS5 and had good signal strength and tested in the CBD of Sydney.

As you can see vodafone (show on the left) is quite a bit slower on download speed but both are about the same on upload speed.
