This was the 10:00 pm fountain show on a Thursday night. The prior show at 9:45 had a lot of people watching, but the crowd thinned out at 10:00.
This is going to be where Octocity Hyperlapse Part II begins. These are the first few tests using my new camera rotation device which I conceived especially for the purpose of making Part II and beyond a lot less painful to make.

The waters were a serene sea of tranquility, silently yearning for the penetrating looks of aroused voyeurs, of natural beasts, willing viewers, waiting and wanting to witness wanton desires and erotic melting of sky into sea, blending of day into night, bold unconditional submission of a perfect breathtaking goddess into her master’s deepest desires while he in turn bowed to her sheer perfection.
Frenzied propeller, penetrating thrust, pushing the strong hard hull of a love boat’s bow across the silky pink wetness of the thirsty bay tremblingly seeking to drown itself.... to drown itself again and again, and again, in the ripples of little deaths, cascading to the edge of reason, the border of maddening desire, the shores of unimagined adventures no bucket list could ever hold, sure to release millions of seeds, each one a dream to plant in the fertile lands of love yet to be seen and waiting to have our marks left on. Can you imagine, beloved princess, perfect goddess?
That’s what I saw when I captured this mind blowing sunset scene from the upstairs lounge of my blessed home in ApolloBeach. I saw a stream of boats coming and going but sped up the video nearly 3X to fit it under one minute. I hope you enjoyed the words of what is coming, and the video. 😊

I walked around for 9.9 miles on 2020/09/19 shooting street photography in Chicago and these are the things that I saw. If I would have walked a different route, I would have seen an entirely different set of people in different situations and my photos could have been better or worse, but I suppose we shall never know.

Autumn is here! Colors are starting to turn in the Hudson Valley.
Here are some dronelapses I captured over the weekend.
Hyperlapse video shot from the North side of the Camden Waterfront Park area. Sail boats and the Spirt of Philadelphia sail under the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. The Patco train crosses the bridge as the sunsets.
A tornado captured on my DJI Mini 3 Pro. I had no idea that there would be a tornado when I started flying the drone, my objective was to capture stop motion of the storm.
Aerial hyperlapse short video of cars and people in motion on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. Combined 350 photos from DJI Aiir 2S using Adobe Premier Pro.

Imagine this: You are running through a forest, being chased by an unspeakable horror, and when you stop to take a breath...
First comment: Flickr lowered the quality of my shots, I guess in order to get them to fit in their video length guidelines.
I took this hyperlapse for a photochallenge group where I will post tomorrow. It is made up of 177 shots. Every shot I moved forward about eight inches. It's a bit jerky rather than smooth; I couldn't get a straight line to my goal because of terrain and having to move over for people. Also I may have taken a shot in the same spot twice when I was interrupted; I'm not sure. I think it rather conveys the feeling of running. I made it sepia to even out the tones because of light shifts.
This is a another trip from the new LIRR station at Grand Central up to street level. This time I exited to the lobby in One Vanderbilt at 42nd Street.
I tried to get a Flylapse through the Insta360 app, but it gave me an error message. I'm glad I edited this clip manually instead.
There were lots of things I wanted to take photos of while on the boat tour, but I had to wait for the trip back, because I was shooting a hyperlapse. Unfortunately, they made all the stops for photos on the way in, so I didn't get much time to shoot the highlights, but the timelapse was worth it. This was the first thing I shot once I took my camera off the tripod. "Pissing Mare Falls" one of the highest waterfalls in eastern North America.
This is a HDR blended with a single photo to dial back the madness a little.

Playing around w/ teh Hyperlapse on a fabulous winters day at Red Rock...
A better shot of "Turtle Head" here:
A neat, somewhat-slot-canyon in Death Valley National Park that one can drive through. I sat atop my friend's Xterra, holding my GoPro, trying my best to keep it stable, and film this neat location. Post-production was handled with Microsoft Hyperlapse, and GoPro Studio.
The music is Caribou "Odessa," from their Swim album.

One of the most noticeable downsides of still photography is how it limits the way motion can be captured. Blurring, panning, and light streaking, for example, certainly have...

After two years of filming, I finished the fourth and final timelapse montage in the "Mauna Kea Heavens" series. This video features lots of adaptive optics lasers, milky way shots, many scenes of the erupting volcano, and several hyperlapse sequences. It utilizes focal lengths from 12mm to 1000mm. I completed my PhD and moved from Hawaii to Washington, D.C., so I won't be filming the telescopes anymore. It can be viewed at vimeo.com/302336360.
Several of the scenes in the montage involve large camera movements. Pictured here are Raiatea and I filming driving timelapse on a particular cold and snowy night under the light of a full moon. Mounted on the vehicle is a DJI Ronin stabilizer. We also filmed a couple scenes in which we walked with it.
I persevered through freezing wind and rain to see the bridge, shoot it, and cycle over it. Managed to get a good hyperlapse on my phone of the various modes of transport travelling over it, but otherwise, the rest of my shots were fairly dreary and grey.

Finally, time off from busy schedule to pursue my favourite hobby. A shot that represents something I always yearn for: to be free.
Spoiler Alert, until I find a way to perfect it, I may upload hyperlapse footages sometime in the future.
090515 UPDATE:
- Reduced overall shadows a little
- Increased overall image sharpness
- Reduced signature opacity
Having another go at hyperlapse yesterday - this time on the KN Tower, where at night, the helipad is converted into a lounge. Cool place to try a cool idea! :)
