The Hyper-Lites come with Posi-Twist connectors to connect the three brown wires together and the three green wires together. It also comes with Posi-Tap connectors to tap into the middle of OEM wires. However, I had wire ends, so I used Posi-Lock connectors for a much cleaner install.

I got up this morning to catch the sunrise in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a fantastic sunrise this morning (pictures to follow). My intention was to just find an easily accessible spot, take pictures and then head back home. Fortunately the call-of-the-wild got me and I headed up the trail to Ypsilon Lake. I didn't have my snow shoes because I wasn't planning on doing any hiking, but I figured I would see how much of the trail was accessible by foot.
This picture was taken after a breakfast of trail mix, at about 10,000 ft. I was doing a little post-holing by this point so I decided to take a nice break. Also, I didn't have my gators, so the snow was getting into the top of my boots. I had to pull out the old toe warmers since the snow was melting, then turning to ice...
While sitting, crunching on some cashews, I noticed a nice vanishing point in the trees, so I decided to do a little experiment. I setup the tripod, and aimed the lens directly at the vanishing point; I set a small aperture and placed a GND on to allow a longer exposure and keep the sky from washing out. Then, I would pop the shutter with the cable release and then zoom in as steady as I could. I took about 15 takes, but I like this one the best.
Anyway, about a mile further up the trail, I began to sink into the snow to my belly as both feet were going, so I had to abandon my quest. Still the 7.5 miles (round trip) should have shaved a bit of all the holiday food I recently helped myself too.

The unpowered Hyper III was designed and built at Edwards AFB as part of the Lifting Body program. It only flew once, in December 1969, before the program was cancelled.
