One coat of primer gray in place, and we're starting to look a bit like a battleship.
If the internet searching hasn't misled us, a Clow hydrant, model 2036, with two (2) 2.5" discharges and a single 4.5" discharge; it was cast in 2001 and removed from service after being bumped during a construction project in the Monterey County area (and the water department required it be taken out of service.)
The hydrant is being cleaned and will be moving into our Fire Stations 4 Hire location in a few days.
This is a photo for a composite image assignment, I didn't know what to do, so I decided to play a bit and do something fun.
No theme, no HDR Processing, No Flash only a crop and a bit of a saturation to bring out some color.

A fire hydrant in the River Market area of Kansas City MO. As you can see I did a little of the ever-cliched partial color/partial BW, and I shot this with my fisheye lens, and just for fun added a radial blur to the edges. There are lots of people who I'm sure don't dig the editing, but it was fun for me anyway.
