Another from September. This hydrangea was new in my garden this year and I love the color so much. I wish I had a few more but there aren't enough places to plant them so they get enough sun. I have so many oak trees making too much shade.
During the summer, the blossoms of this climbing hydrangea are totally white. Once the weather becomes cooler, the petals begin to match the woody stem of the plant. That is when you can see the tiny veins more readily.
Blue Hydrangeas, in my friends garden in Mid Wales, they are one of my favorite shrubs...

Bij de achterdeur staat een grote hortensiastruik. Een bloem daarvan is weer gaan bloeien of bloeit nog steeds. Een lichtpuntje in deze korte en soms donkere dagen.
Going outside I first see a large bush of the Hydrangea. In these short days there is one flower still blooming bright and pink. So I made a picture of this flower to share some brightness with you.

Hydrangea, common names hydrangea or hortensia, is a genus of over 75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Korea, and Japan.
The long cool spring means that many hydrangea flowers started blooming late this season. This is among the earlier ones. The one to the lower RHS corner is still all green.
Late blooming hydrangea. This little plant seems to be a few weeks behind the other hydrangea in our area but is providing a small splash of colour.
