Backlit hydrangea blossoms reveals the intricate details and structure.

This hydrangea is very popular for its unique shape of sepal.

The color of the flower will gradually change from pale yellow to light purple.

ガク片がくるんと丸まった形はまるで小さな貝殻の様です。元々は病気でガクが丸まったのを品種改良に結び付けた。そんな開発経緯が有ったそうですが、今や人気の紫陽花として世間に名を馳せてます。

Hydrangea, common names hydrangea or hortensia is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. It belongs to the Hydrangeaceae family. ‘Hydrangea’ is derived from Greek and means ‘water vessel’, which is in reference to the shape of its seed capsules. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably Korea, China, and Japan. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others reaching up to 30 m by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous. Flowers are produced from early spring to late autumn; they grow in flowerheads most often at the ends of the stems. 13485

Every year I take some dried Hydrangea flower heads inside the house for decoration.

After some months, due to dust and tiny spider cobwebs, they are moved to the compost heap.

This picture was taken just before that moment and processed somewhat.

Such lovely, delicate little flowers.

They'd been pure white, but are now dressed up in their beautiful fall colours. Lightly edited with an effect in Topaz Studio 2 for Sliders Sunday. HSS!

Thank you for your visits and comments, much appreciated! Have a great day and new week ahead!

There are no hydrangeas in my own garden, but several of my neighbors have large bushes in their yards. Now, I've been known to break off a blossom or two from flowering plants alongside a path. However, people really frown on other people wandering into one's garden to snitch a pretty posy or two. I was quite satisfied to capture the flowers growing alongside the road. I'm sure my friend was pleased I made that choice as well.

Garden Hydrangea. It changes its color due to the acidity of the soil.

Bij de achterdeur staat een grote hortensiastruik. Een bloem daarvan is weer gaan bloeien of bloeit nog steeds. Een lichtpuntje in deze korte en soms donkere dagen.

Going outside I first see a large bush of the Hydrangea. In these short days there is one flower still blooming bright and pink. So I made a picture of this flower to share some brightness with you.

Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.

Happy weekend!

I appreciate your visit and comment.
