Garden Hydrangea. It changes its color due to the acidity of the soil.

They'd been pure white, but are now dressed up in their beautiful fall colours. Lightly edited with an effect in Topaz Studio 2 for Sliders Sunday. HSS!

There are no hydrangeas in my own garden, but several of my neighbors have large bushes in their yards. Now, I've been known to break off a blossom or two from flowering plants alongside a path. However, people really frown on other people wandering into one's garden to snitch a pretty posy or two. I was quite satisfied to capture the flowers growing alongside the road. I'm sure my friend was pleased I made that choice as well.

Hydrangea, common names hydrangea or hortensia, is a genus of over 75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Korea, and Japan.
During the summer, the blossoms of this climbing hydrangea are totally white. Once the weather becomes cooler, the petals begin to match the woody stem of the plant. That is when you can see the tiny veins more readily.
The long cool spring means that many hydrangea flowers started blooming late this season. This is among the earlier ones. The one to the lower RHS corner is still all green.
I'm always astounded at the beauty and detail of nature.
