The fertile flowers of Hydrangeas can have pink or blue petals. These are both colors, as you can see.

Thanks for looking! Isn't God a great artist?

This gorgeus Hydrangea blossom is dedicated to my sweet & wonderful cousin Ida, who suddenly passed away this past Tuesday May 17! She loved flowers, gardening & so much more!

Thank you, Odile for the lace and spools🌸

Hydrangea are in bloom and we have white and blue blooms. This little bit came from our neighbor's garden, I quite like the bits of pink in the petals.

Every year I take some dried Hydrangea flower heads inside the house for decoration.

After some months, due to dust and tiny spider cobwebs, they are moved to the compost heap.

The "Smile on Saturday" challenge theme "get nature in your home!" came just in time to take this macro.

This photo was taken inside the house, camera in one hand, flower between two fingertips of the other one !

The original photo is in comments... rolled up and slid some more for Sliders Sunday.

This morning in my garden I was surprised to see for the first time this spectacular colour of an hydrangea really violet ! No saturation added !

Happy Sliders Sunday

Floriography is the language of flowers. Hydrangea meaning is "Fickleness". ("You change your mind too often.")

My fascination with hydrangeas captured with a macro lens.

Hydrangea, common names hydrangea or hortensia is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. It belongs to the Hydrangeaceae family. ‘Hydrangea’ is derived from Greek and means ‘water vessel’, which is in reference to the shape of its seed capsules. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably Korea, China, and Japan. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others reaching up to 30 m by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous. Flowers are produced from early spring to late autumn; they grow in flowerheads most often at the ends of the stems. 35011

Oakleaf hydrangeas boast white pyramidal bloom clusters with color-changing capabilities. They emerge creamy white and age to dusky pink and green as summer progresses. By late fall, petals become light tan and papery, persisting on the stem into winter or yielding dark brown seeds for added interest.
