Had to create a Fantasy/Fairy tale world around it :)

In no other place in the Netherlands you can see the battle against the water of the sea in the past as well as at the sea dike in the hamlet of Paessens-Moddergat in the province of Friesland (NL).
We are standing here at the remains of an old wooden sheeting that was made to protect the polder that had been conquered from the sea.
As you can see, this wooden sheeting extends far into the sea and at that time kept the sea at a distance for long time.
On the left we see the old coast and on the right the old drown polder that was taken back by the sea, because the sea tolerates no opponent, especially not the one who reduces its territory.
She had to wait a long time, but in a raging storm she took back everything that had been conquered from her, howling and foaming at her mouth........

Such a nice day for a walk, the lake partially frozen with a strong southerly winter wind blowing and howling through the trees... even the geese huddled on the far shore, honking and calling as if to say when will this cold snap end.
winter has just began and we are all ready for spring. but until then i will get out and capture the dullness and grayness that is the Canadian winter. beautiful and deadly.

Howling At The Moon...
This weeks spring full moon was spectacular, it shone so brightly, it lit up the entire sky and landscape with that pale glow only a full moon can give. It created this halo effect as it dodged behind the cloud cover,
I set up my tripod and positioned it perfectly to get the best shot before it rose too high in the night sky... It took several exposures to get the shot just the way i wanted it.
Luckily the wind had died down quite a bit and the tree was not blowing all over which would have taken away from the detail of the fresh buds on the branches.

Howling wind and frigid cold in 2016 didn't keep the Great Western from putting on a fantastic show for two visiting Yanks. A former Conrail B23-7 leads a Canadian National veteran built by Montreal Locomotive Works across the plains on a blustery morning.

I was amased to see this dog howling at the Sunrise
I beleave his owner was out in the surf catching a few waves
From looking at the pics taken on this day in January of 2014, the wind was howling, and snow drifting across the roads in Western Kane County, IL Here a EB Ethanol train crests over the hill at the little unincorporated hamlet of New Lebanon, IL just a few miles East of the Kane/Dekalb county line
An El Train crosses the Chicago River atop the Wells Street Bridge in Chicago's Loop. The title was inspired by a passage from “Never Come Morning,” a Chicago based novel by author Nelson Algren.
"The Great trains howling from track to track all night. The taut and telegraphic murmur of ten thousand city wires, drawn most cruelly against a city sky. The rush of city waters, beneath the city streets. The passionate passing of the night's last El."

Yet another wet lens day on Skye. Drove over to Elgol on my first visit to the island, hoping for some great light. Instead I got loads of weather. The howling wind was blowing salt spray far and wide, so it wasn't sensible to have the camera out for too long. A low PoV didn't help, I suppose....
Anyway, Elgol's great in any weather.
