There is a story behind this, I swear!! Ok, so I went to the movies tonight and being stupid, I decided to see a thriller, 1408. Now, I really shouldn't see movies like this because they scare the living poop out of me.... I went anyway, with my sister-in-law, Brenda. So we both got really scared.... lol!! After the movie was over we needed something to take our minds off the freaky supernatural stuff, so we went driving and stopped at a Dunken Doughnuts.... In the parking lot there was this pick-up truck with this hilarious sign. This helped us get over some of the fear.... Not all of it, but some!!
Now, this sign is funny in so many different ways... and it also begs questions like:
How classy can their lingerie be if they promote it on the back of a pick-up truck?
What kind of classy lingerie do they have for children, since they do carry child sizes?
What kind of classy lingerie opens in rear?
Things of that nature....

Honeyguides are the only birds to communicate with humans: in a remarkable mutualistic relationship, they guide human honey-hunters to bees' nests, to help them to reach the wax on which they feed. But honeyguides also have a much darker side as unusually brutal brood parasites of other birds. They hatch from the egg already equipped with needle-sharp hooks, which they use swiftly to kill host chicks and thus monopolise all the food brought to the nest by the host parents. Host chicks sometimes hatch several days after the parasite, so honeyguide chicks retain their bill hooks for some time after hatching, as this week-old honeyguide chick illustrates. We buried infra-red cameras underground and filmed how honeyguides attack host chicks with repeated grasping and shaking motions. Parents notice nothing in the pitch darkness of the nest interior, attempting to feed the honeguide even as it stabs their own offspring. How did Sunday get here again so quickly? I wake up exactly the same on the mornings I'm at home now; opening my eyes, turning my head, looking over to the right and down, and seeing Guinness laying on his dark blue blanket bed chewing on his bone or his red rag or some stick that he wasn't supposed to bring inside in the first place. The rest of this day is up to me. I have no idea what this Sunday is going to bring. Pamela leaves back for Kyle today so I'm sure lunch will be with her. Past that, no idea. I'm still just getting out of that haze you're in when you wake up. This pic reminds me of that. Awakening. I can't imagine losing track of Sundays waking up to this though. I took this as I looked into a prison cell at the Kilmainham Gaol (pronounced "jail") in Dublin. Long ago this was some poor soul's Sunday morning awakening. Every. Single. Sunday. Thinking about that makes me want to take full advantage of each day, but at the same time there's something to be said about enjoying the stillness of a Sunday morning waking up a little later than usual and staying in bed looking over at your dog who's very happy with just chillin too. Sounds like a plan.

This is how I feel today.
I had a comment from a kid at work today. "My Daddy says you're fat."
Yeah, thanks for repeating that kid.
"Well, that's true, but it's still not kind to repeat it."
And I know better than to let it get to me, I do! But some days I can't turn off the repeat loop.
I feel ugly, and stupid. I have too much homework, and a headache, and I'm tired. And I'll stop whining now.

That's Hotch from the Criminal Minds TV Show, but can someone tell me why that Intrusive Samsung stuff is appearing on the left of my screen and then on the right and back and forth? I hate it! What is it and how do I get rid of it. I was on cable where I used to live, and now I'm on antenna.
Oh, and I'm not worried about the horrible blur. I was just trying to get a shot of the Samsung stuff.

I spotted this old couple at a recent garden festival perched on the wall with all the eatables they had brought with them to enjoy in the warm December Sun. They were merrily busy preparing the the feast,oblivious of me capturing their little randezvaou.
Spotted at St Albans station just now. I wouldn't be too surprised if this bike isn't here when its owner gets back.
This is the worst lock I've ever seen on a bike, by far. It's vulnerable to cutting with trivial tools and that flimsy lock is hanging just next to the bike rack upright, ready for a few big whacks with a hammer.
So, don't do that, do this:
Use a D-lock, and preferably another lock like an armoured cable lock too. (this means the thief needs more skill, tools and time to defeat two different types of lock)
Buy good locks. Sold Secure gold rated are best. (Any insurance you have will probably only cover approved locks. A D lock bought for a tenner from a large grocery retailer (tm) is not good value)
Do not just lock your bike up by the front wheel. (you may return to find a locked up front wheel and no bike)
Lock to a rack by preference. Don't lock to posts if you can avoid it. (bikes can be lifted off posts)
Don't block pavements or fire exits. (for obvious reasons, but also because your bike could be damaged)
Secure your wheel by locking to a rack with the lock passing through your rear wheel and the frame. (Wheels are stolen too)
Fill the space as much as possible. (minimum room to insert a lever to break d locks)
Position the lock so that the key is more difficult to get to. (reduces picking/barrel attacks)
Don't leave the lock so that parts of it truck the ground. ( makes it much harder to chisel or hammer)
Remove all accessories.
Smile, and have a good day...
