The Peugeot 205 was designed by Gerrard Welter, though sometimes accredited to Pininfarina (who were responsible for the Cabriolet) and introduced into the Supermini category in 1983. The 205 was lauded for its superb Pininfarina styling, outstanding handling, and supple ride.
The high performance 1.6 litre GTi Hatch was launched in 1984, instantly gaining cult status. For 1987 the model received a larger cylinder head and more power, quoted at 115bhp. Followed by a 1.9 litre version of 120bhp in 1986
The 1.6 GTi continued in production until 1994, outlasting the 1.9 version which ceased in 1993. Both version sold well, buoyed by their performance and the Gti handling became the benchmark for others to follow,
In its later years UK sales of the Gti and particularly the 1,9 litre version were adversely affected by spiralling insurance costs, particularly among younger buyers who had become the models target buyer
Outside the engine bay the main differences between the 1.6 GTI and the 1.9 GTI are half-leather seats, all round disc brakes and 15 inch alloy wheels in the 1.9 GTi against cloth seats, disc brakes at the front drum at the rear and 14 inch alloy wheels in the 1.6 GTi

The second generation Corsa (Corsa B) arrived in the UK in April 1993, with Vauxhall, dropping the Nova name used for the Vauxhall badged first generation Opel Corsa A. Designed by Hideo Kodama the second generation car no longer offered a Saloon version for European market cars, but one was designed in Brazil for the Latin American market, . Four cylinder power came from 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6 litre Family 1 petrol engines, as well as an economical 1.5 L turbodiesel engine. Most cars received a five speed manual transmission, although a four speed automatic was also available with certain engines. In the first few years, a four speed manual was also available coupled to the smallest 1.2 litre engine
The Corsa B was replaced in the European market in the 2000 model year by the updated Corsa C

The Volkswagen Golf Mk1 was Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign and launched in 1974 the right hand drive models going on sale Great Britain from October 1974 The Golf was the the successor to the Beetle, and marked a shift of its major car lines from rear-wheel drive and rear-mounted air-cooled engines to front-wheel drive with front-mounted, water-cooled engines
VW Press Department head Anton Konrad and VW engineer Alfons Löwenberg began development of a higher performance variant, they were joined by suspension expert Herbert Schuster, Hermann Hablitzel, along with Jürgen Adler (chassis developement) and Horst-Dieter Schwittlinsky from the marketing department who coined the GTI acronym, The GTI was presented to Volkswagen’s management early in 1975 for approval the GTi finally debuted at the 1975 Frankfurt Motorshow with an expectation of building just 500 units to qualify for the Group One Production Touring Car class. The GTI appeared on the British market in 1977 as a special order only in left-hand drive form. A factory right-hand drive version finally became available in July 1979, priced at £4705
The early GTi was powered by 1588cc fuel injected engine of 110 PS (108 hp; 81 kW). Externally the car was distinguished black-plastic wheel arch extensions, wider wheels, a larger front spoiler, a matte-black frame around the backlite and a red frame for the grille, ride height was lowered by 15mm and the standard car's solid front brake discs were replaced with 9.4 in (239 mm) ventilated discs. Anti-roll bars were also fitted front and rear. With a curb weight of 810 kg (1,786 lb), the GTI could accelerate from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 9.2 seconds. Top speed was 182 km/h (113.1 mph) a five speed gearbox became standard in August 1979
In 1982 for the 1983MY the engine was enlarged to 1781cc and compression increased power rose to 112 PS (110.5 hp)

So...I decided to get myself an Xbox One, and with I delved into the world of Forza for the first time. Being a life long GT fan I found FM7 to be quite a change. I really like the dynamic weather effects and car choice; my only gripe is that (as far as I can see) there's no way to directly export a photo from the console to my USB stick (like on GTS). I look forward to exploring FM7's photographic capabilities in the future and sharing my pictures with you. In the meantime the majority of the pictures I post will be from GTS. Enjoy :)
