Enough is enough! This shows the temperature in our backyard. Our high for today tied a record at 113, but it actually gets hotter than that in the back yard from the heat radiating off the cinder block fence, the stucco on the house and the rock and concrete. I'm definitely ready for fall and winter so we can enjoy being outside again.
I know one contact that will rub it in about how cool it is where he is........I suppose he even has to wear a jacket at night. Right, Mikey?

Got caught bring in the real camera...so had to resort to the Moto Q. Not a bad quality considering our distance and my drunkenness. :) It was like 90 degrees!

Alanna and I met for lunch on Hallowe'en and she told me what her coworker was wearing at the office. I actually play in the co-ed slo-pitch league with Ryan in the summer and told her "You gotta get a photo for me!" and gave her my point and shoot. It's a great costume but as Ryan pointed out the dang thing is hot as hell to wear! lol

Oh man, today was hot. Record-breaking heat. Possibly the hottest I've experienced outside of SE Asia. 102 in the shade, up to fifteen degrees warmer in the sun. Damn, that's hot as hell. Literally...
So, on a day that's hotter than any day in the last FIFTEEN years, what do you photograph. Why, a fan of course! I mean, I'm haven't moved from in front of the fan (which is in front of the window air conditioner, for added oomph) all day, except when absolutely necessary.
Tomorrow, high of 100. Then things chill out to a cool and comfortable 94 degrees...

In Portugal I used to occasionally help a friend who styled productions for decoration magazines. I unpacked items, cleaned them up, repacked them after they had been photographed, and helped her move bulky items. On this particular month she had been asked to photograph mattresses... hard to make them exciting and fun, but she did! And for one photo she needed a model...
Yep - this is the beginning (and end) of my modelling career! I don't envy those girls, it is hard work!! I was wrapped in a futon, in the height of the Portuguese summer, and the photographer took polaroid after polaroid until he was happy with the final result... then he had to take a dozen shots to be sure - this was before the time of digital!

Johannesburg (a.k.a. iGoli) is going to be a host city for the 2010 Football World Cup. In advance of the tournament, there is frantic construction across the country - a rash of new stadiums, bigger and better roads, hotels, guest houses, liquor stores, brothels, prisons, etc ;-) The Telkom Tower in Hillbrow has had a giant football grafted to its trunk in advance of the tournament. ok, it got really warm for VT today (was 87 on my car thermometer at the office, but only 74 at home). I love eating icepops - and guess who else like them (you guessed it, zowie : )
